New commanders first big change is he wants to do practice ones frequently to make the real one when he leaves easier so clearly someone liked your idea.
The class six is no longer tax free or discounted, and all but the bottom shelf liquors strictly forbidden. And also, surprise, we're a dry army now.
Officers O-2 and above will be accompanied to the field with fine china, silver, draperies, and fine wines, totaling not fewer than 100 pounds apiece. In garisson, still plastic spoons and lunch trays, but in the field, full luxury on the backs of the peasants.
MREs now consist only of slices of spam and single snack bread. Not even a full can of spam, just a couple slices.
UGRs no longer get cookies.
Midnight dining hours in DFACs so equipped hereby forbidden, punishable by death.
No idea why my brain went to food. Maybe it's dinner time for me.
I know a lot of people who bring spam to the field. On purpose.
Anyhow, dice your spam while preheating a cooking vessel over some heat source. MSR whisper light runs on kerosene, and JP-8 is kerosene based, but you get as creative as you can get away with.
Now, fry up your diced spam, stirring often, until crispy on all sides. Once fully cooked, liberally apply barbecue sauce and reduce heat. Stir until the sauce thickens up and covers your spam with a nice glaze.
Feel free to share these Dirtbag Burnt Ends with the homies, or huddle in the corner and stuff them all into your fat gullet. Whatever gets your rocks off.
Follow me for more field expedient recipes.
Just out of curiosity, do you have any published studies on this? I'm genuinely asking, and not trying to be a dick.
As far as I am aware, cooks run their MKTs on JP8, and there are two brigades in Alaska running warming stoves and cook stoves on the stuff from the advice of the NWTC.
Bro it’s fucking petrochemicals chock full of antifreeze, corrosion inhibitors, and chemicals to prevent deflagration. The government famously does shit all the time against the interests of the end user.

Just jumping to “health concerns” is a good starting point.
>And also, surprise, we're a dry army now.
I don't drink but this may actually cause me to relapse. Simply because it's in my biological narrative to do what you say I can't.
The army marches on its stomach. Downrange we bitched about food every day, with only mild complaints about the cramped bunkers we shared or the ratty ass fracu's
So you're telling me there isn't 6 to 12 spit cups in the average TOC anymore? And cigarette butts all over every installation?
Not challenging you, I'm retired, and don't live near an installation.
You mean to say no one dips in TOCs anymore ? I must have spent at least an hour a day yelling " LT, Don't Drink That !". Alright, if you give me my Ensure chocolate pudding, I'll go back to my room.
I haven't drank from a spitter in years thanks to zyn.
To be super honest, zyn is one of my favorite things about the 2020's. Chewing tobacco was gross. It's also way easier to quit than real tobacco, which is a huge appeal.
Well I forgot about chew but yeah cigs are out of favor. Tobacco in general is being shunned. Majority of my patients with chew are going to Zyn as well. I'm biased though, I'm in the embedded BH side and only make trips to the non-medical brigade once in a while. Even so, I'm seeing way, way less cigs than a decade ago
Nah, he’s cappin fr , even the youngins still dip, smoke, or vape etc. as far as cigarette butts are concerned they’re still just about everywhere. Can’t confirm or deny whether or not I am a contributing factor 😂
Make the changes in the regs to allow beards, pt on your own, etc with the caveat of "at the commanders discretion" but cultivate an attitude among officers such that they never actually give soldiers those freedoms.
PT now starts at 0400 and runs until 0730. If you can’t fill the time block entirely with a workout then Sgt’s time training is expected. Release formations are still at their regular time.
Ballistic helmet as the normal everyday headgear to reduce the risk of TBI's, even for PT. 7-day work weeks, 12-hour work days, and best of all, no alcohol, tobacco, or energy drinks on or off duty - ever!!!!
6 BN formations a day PT , post PT , work call, lunch , post lunch , final formation all with open ranks inspections conducted on randomly selected personnel.
Daily details to clean, and maintain the barracks, company, and BN spaces after final formation.
Twice a month random 100% recall with a spot check for 20% of the BN Ht and WT and UA .
Soldiers will wear Service uniform on duty at all times outside of the motorpool and PT.
“Submit” someone for an award in word only, then perpetually tell them you are following up until you PCS. Tell them you sent it to them in the mail.
Ask someone for their top 3 assignments, then choose something completely opposite from their list. Be sure it’s a position that is excess or is about to be excess as soon as they arrive.
Consistently say “people first” but plan 6 training exercises all around holidays. Micromanage leave and add requirements to leave submission. If somehow leave gets approved, revoke it at the last minute.
When someone does anything remotely incorrect, add several accountability formations daily.
Deploy Soldiers to the Southern Border right before Thanksgiving without making any plans for what they are supposed to do. That way, they miss a major holiday amd don't get to pretend they accomplished something.
Build a gigantic sand table in the middle of the battalion area.
Equipment needed: all tarps within the battalion footprint.
Sand: enough sand to cover the tarps will be gathered and transported to the battalion area.
Task: lay out all tarps in an overlapping manner. Pour sand onto tarps to create sand table.
Officers will direct lower enlisted to form sand table according to associated map and graphics.
After sand table is finished, lower enlisted will clean up sand and transport it away from battalion area. All sand will be removed. Sweeping Sand onto the grass is unauthorized.
This actually happened.
It was the windiest day of the year.
We removed sand until 2 am and were allowed to skip pt and come in at 9.
Pre and post PT formation
Pre and post lunch formation
Mandatory 1700 formation with safety brief every day
Weekly company 8 mile “fun run”
Weekly health and wellness check for barracks soldiers and married soldiers
Daily vehicle inspections “PSGs i need an up before our 1700 formation, we are on your time” sent out at 16:30
And to top it off, bi monthly 2 week field event with unplanned training events so nobody knows what they’re doing until theyre doing it
Mandatory fun, oh we’ve kept you too busy in the field and doing layouts. Ok, instead of half days for you to be around your family more we’ll have you be at work longer but it’s ok we’re playing ultimate Frisby

Mandatory Friday-Monday field exercise every week no exceptions. CG said so. No electronics. Violations will be recommended ART-15 and signed off by O-5 or higher depending on who’s available for wet signature first.
Constantly moving goal post and remove the sharp and E.O. programs.
If I tell my soldiers to.make goals and then never deliver on the backside for them that should do it.
Mandatory independence day bbq in Kandahar, outside. Who knew that by applying moon dust to dfac Mac & cheese that you could exfoliate the inside of your mouth...
100% Bde recall every time someone gets into a alcohol related incident. The company that gets a dui has to ruck march to the mp station and carry soldier that got the dui back to the company on a stretcher.
I was in a bn that did this as a mass punishment. I put in a pass every single weekend after I overheard the bn cdr and csm talking about it when I was on staff duty one time
Do the yearly suicide survey, have people say they’re gonna do it, then start yelling because ”we’re lying to fuck with them”, someone blows their brains out
They should find senior NCOz throughout the Army that failed to take educational opportunities and don’t really know their crafts well but are good runners and can really misinterpret Army regulations and have them serve as Advisors to commanders on ways to not take care of soldiers and find unimportant things to obsess over other than ensuring the force is trained.
1. Promote toxic NCO's who are good at PT but dogshit in their MOS.
2. All days are working late "we need to do this before we go home" days.
3. Alternate between doing fuck-all and pointless "police calls" and clean up.
4. Don't train in any MOS until the last minute - but blame the lower enlisted when the unit fails FTX/Gunnery/had low rifle qual average.
5. Yell at soldiers who talk to branch - yell at the entire unit during first formation for talking to branch.
6. Treat soldiers who will PCS/ETS/Retire like dogshit and work the hell out of them - bonus for giving them a week to clear post.
7. SFL-TAP or CSP? Nope, there is FTX, layouts, police call, gate guard, change of command and random shit leaders can think of that are more important. If they do go to those classes, blow up their phones with calls and texts.
8. Make it so that when soldiers go on emergency leave it's a hassle of paperwork and only grudgingly let them go. As soon as they get back dump a shit ton of work on them.
9. Always tell your soldiers "back at Bragg/back in the Corps/In the old Army" some made up story about how tough it was and how they are "new Army" and "Gen-Z snowflakes" - bonus points if you're going on a shower and shoppette run while they pull ECP duty.
Tell the joes if they work through lunch they get out early.
Then keep them past 1700.
Correct everyone about walking while on the phone. Then do it in front of them and deny you ever corrected anyone.
Take a group of soldiers, import leadership from big army, and then tell em they can't run the kit they been running for years because it wasn't issued to them. (Disclaimer it is all high quality kit with not a spec of airsoft shit to be found)

Instead of having officers just ranked by their senior rater, have an army-wide OML. The resulting effects will ensure thousands of ways to lower morale.
Have a giant BBQ for the unit and their families and announce to them *and* their wives/children that they will be implementing new policies that restrict "after hours" calls, texts, so that soldiers can actually spend time with their families instead of working 24/7....
.....and then don't do it.
Invoke Mandatory PT tests every Friday, if 1 person gets a DUI over the weekend whole Batt gets called back don’t care where you are. 4 days DENIED, leave outside of block DENIED, oh you need emergency leave DENIED. When company leadership goes to their never ending meetings in late afternoon, make sure everyone stays at work till whenever they get back. There might be important info about to put out about shit coming up two months from now that can't possibly be disseminated via phone tree and chain of command, or wait till the next day. After all, if senior leadership has to stay, why shouldn't lower enlisted?
Battle buddies for E4 & below at permanent duty stations. Shouldn’t just be an AIT thing hooah.\
Also, camelbacks should be part of the uniform in garrison so there are no excuses for heat casualties.
Hold everyone late but tell them they're getting a comp day but it never comes, just more late days with more comp days that never come.
Wait a minute
Hol up… wait a minute… something ain’t right 🤨
Sounds like fake breakout days at VMI!!
You realize comp stands for “cant officially manage personnel”. So they are just giving you a day that they will hold you late again
Be told youre getting out early and then get released even later
Sounds like fake breakout days at VMI!!
That’s just called being Ordnance

I’ll do you one better. Have soldiers take the survey, get the results, and make a policy that those things will never be allowed.
Change of command layout
Easy there Satan. The prompt was lower morale, not nuke it.
The practice change of command layout before the real one
Change of command ceremony in ASUs in the blistering sun for 3 hours
The 5 rehearsals for the change of command ceremony in ASUs in the blistering sun for 3 hours
Each. From 1300-1600. In the comp/batt/reg parking lot. Starting Friday. On a long weekend.
with neighboring units driving around you, trying to leave for the day.
Done this once or twice.
How about a change of command inventory, fast forward a couple of months just to do it again because the commander got a DUI.
That’s unrealistic… officers never get in trouble for DUIs… NEVER
New commanders first big change is he wants to do practice ones frequently to make the real one when he leaves easier so clearly someone liked your idea.
🤮
Call it and I raise you a brigade coc layout
Wow... dude chose to go nuclear at step one 😆
Is it weird if this... raises my moral?
Just require a 100% every month.
Just say the LT lost the paperwork of last week's inventory and that it needs to be redone.

All tobacco products are banned, on or off duty. Urinalysis is expanded to include tobacco.
Tobacco is old school these days. If you go after nicotine (vapes/Zen/gum) you'd have 70% of the Army flagged instantly

3 to 6 spit cups and only cigs in the field, ever cig butt on post has been replaced by zyn pouches and ruck marches now smell like grape vapes

Yea, but nothing emphasizes a comment better than a big ol splat of tobacco juice.
Also nothing is more hilarious than someone accidentally drinking out of a spit cup/can, as long as it isn't you.
Yes, it is. It's even better when you tried to warn them.
