My real boy job outside the guard was to travel to different countries. I told my s2 I would not be submitting paperwork to travel to other countries and he could revoke my clearance if he wanted to. Guess what they did? Not a god damn thing.
That's highly dependent on your security manager and is going to pop lots of red flags if you tell them on your next SF86.
I did a shitload of oconus travel on official orders and still had a SF86 colonoscopy.
I did submit stuff on my sf86. Sometimes I wouldn't know if I was going to a country until the same day of travel. Air Force guys do it all the time. It's not a big deal
Oh that’s interesting. I’m an amateur pharmacist focusing on the South American market. We should link up and see how our businesses could help each other.
Active duty so maybe my experience is different, but I've been to cancun/playa 3 times. First time s2 kinda cared, made me sign a briefing about avoiding exploitation, read the DoS country facts and status. Second time they dngaf, just made sure I wasn't goin to Chihuahua or somewhere I'd lose my head. Most recent time s2 really cared, same briefing I had to sign, DoS stuff, and APACS. I've had a TS since the 2nd trip so maybe that made them care more.
Everything depends on where you're going. The APACS is just a friendly notice to the OSC that Americans are in their AOR. If you're not going somewhere that's red on the DoS site, I'd send it. Get the contact info for Post One and the OSC off the DoS website, have those easily accessible. Have some kind of idea how you'd notify them if you get balled up or more likely you're in the hospital and unconscious.
Just don't do anything stupid and you could ostensibly go and return and no one would know.
I had to do half a dozen forms, apply for another half a dozen travel safety alert systems, complete a hum-rights awareness course, and get multiple briefs from S2 just to get permission to go to Canada. So yeah, I'd say you should at the very least mention your trip to your first line.
THE OVER-HEAD YEET MEASURES THE ABILITY TO JUST FUCKING SEND IT. ON THE COMMAND, ‘GET SET’, ASSUME THE POSITION BY SPINNING THE BALL TWICE IN YOUR HANDS, THEN TRY TO DRIBBLE IT LIKE A BASKET BALL ONLY TO REALIZE IT WONT BOUNCE BACK UP TO YOU. YOUR FEET MAY BE TOGETHER OR 12 INCHES APART (MEASURED BETWEEN THE FEET) OR HOWEVER YOU WANT, JUST KEEP YOUR ASS BEHIND THAT CONE. ON THE COMMAND ‘GO’, CHANNEL YOUR INNER TREBUCHET AND HEAVE THAT THING INTO ORBIT. THEN, RETURN TO THE STARTING POSITION AND TURN AROUND TO INSPECT IF YOU DOMED ANYONE. THE SCORER WILL REALIZE HE DIDN'T ACTUALLY SEE WHERE THE BALL LANDED BECAUSE HE WAS AFRAID HE WOULD GET HIT, SO HE STOOD TOO FAR AWAY, HE WILL THEN PLACE HIS FOOT ON THE MEASURING TAPE AND JUST GUESS.

Yeah, no, don't do this. It's one thing to leave a couple hours early for leave.... it's an entirely different thing to go to MEXICO without clearance.
Troop, you purchased flight tickets before you got permission?
Sounds like S2 is gonna have to whip up a PowerPoint on OCONUS leave SOPs.
Why would I? We haven’t updated the last once since 2003 and it’s still good.
It was never good. Barely tolerable, maybe.

One night I was in Texas and some how woke up in Mexico
How long after did your pee start burning?
After it was mixed into the shit barrel with some JP-8

What countries were you going to? Canada/UK/Australia is going to look a lot differently than Iraq/China/Qatar

ATF would like to know your current location.
Just ask the DEA, they know already
Fuck no are you crazy? If you wanna leave the country that's fine but you've got to let people know. You can't just go OCONUS with no notice.
If you're a wuss you can't
Hey you can do anything once

It's the reserves. People have lives outside of the part time military. It's Mexico, not Iran.
Mexico is extremely bad even worse then Iran at certain location.
Go to Mexico City and say you're an American and see what happens, then do it again in tehran. Secrets Cancun is ok to go to
