I'm supposed to believe that black siren is more scared of Diaz than he is of zoom? Absolutely not

Major-Assumption-535

Never understood her fear... I mean, it's ok being a little bit scared, by seeing a man burning alive another one, but God, she's a metahuman... With a lot of possibilities....

ReturnOfSuperman

Yeah. I mean she beat the Flash in her first appearance, and reduced Mercury Labs to rubble. I can understand her being unsettled by Diaz, but scared? Nah.

Major-Assumption-535

Very very strange... Even Lance pointed that out: "You can reduce to atoms entire buildings and walls and you're afraid of a guy like Diaz!?".

Galaxy_Megatron

THIS. I think they tried to give some BS explanation, but it never made sense. It's like she was a different person from Flash to Arrow. Flash Siren would have laughed at Diaz before annihilating him with a shriek. No way she would have followed him after taking orders from fucking *Zoom*.

Outside-Donut9519

I think Diaz was originally meant for season 7. Have Oliver put in prison after the FBI helps him stop Caden James, and Diaz takes over the city during that time. It would have made a lot more sense IMO.

Major-Assumption-535

Agree with you, it would have been a better solution, in order to give Diaz more space to shine...

lr031099

Interesting idea but it makes me wonder who would’ve been the villain for S6. Maybe Cayden James but that’s my best guess. I will say that while it would make a lot more sense, I can’t really see Diaz as the final villain for Arrow (not counting S8 with the Anti-Monitor). Unless maybe Diaz is a villain for the 1st half of S7.

Outside-Donut9519

Cayden James would have been. I remember hearing that he was only replaced because his actor left the show midway through the season, but I’m not sure how true that was. I think that given more time to see how Diaz rose to power, he would have been a more threatening villain.

lr031099

I kinda agree but I don’t think Cayden James was that great of a villain either (good actor though). Idk I feel like he wouldn’t really work as a season long villain. Personally I think I would’ve rewritten S6 and sort of combine S6B and S7A where Diaz is already established as the main villain but maybe have it where it took longer for team Arrow to leave the island (having more flashbacks with them there) and once they get back to Star City, they realized that Diaz took control of the city. The mid season finale would be Oliver going to prison AS Oliver Queen for a crime he didn’t commit because of Diaz while Roy could take on the mantle of GA while Oliver’s in prison. The finale would be the Oliver and Disz fight in prison like in S7.

grajuicy

I think part of the problem is they HATE each other, but they haven’t interacted enough. The biggest interaction they have is when they fight 1v1 like 2 episodes before the finale. Before that their interactions are only Oliver almost catches Diaz, then Diaz comes up with a green goblin type beat contingency plan like “you almost caught me green arrow, but i put a bomb in a truck full of pregnant women, now choose! Me or saving a lot of people!!”, and we repeat this a couple episodes later. Then in S7 turns out they’re all time nemesis, never hated anyone quite as much, but they barely spoke before. Yeah, they keep foiling each other’s plans, but the personal relation between them isn’t really there like with any other major villain in the show

Major-Assumption-535

Yeah, their hate seems way too personal, but the interaction doesn't fit up very well... Totally agree with you!

Ariss789

In season 1 when Oliver beats Malcom what’s the logic behind him stabbing himself to get the arrow into Malcom how is Oliver ok but Malcom dead 😂

Major-Assumption-535

The Power of Friendship😂😂😂

TheSuperGerbil

It’s a real shame because Richard dragon is freaking cool from what I’ve heard (I gotta read that run I know)

Major-Assumption-535

Yeah, it's cool!!

TheSuperGerbil

Where is it collected?

Major-Assumption-535

The issues of Kung-Fu fighter "Coming of the Dragon" can be found online, I think... At least, I got to know the full run from there, I don't know how reccomendable is searching through "readcomicsonline". If you can afford it and you find it on the internet, I suggest you to buy the physical issue... It's way much better (like for any comic)

TheSuperGerbil

Yeah I wanna buy the entire Jeff Lemire run but I just don’t know where it’s all collected

Major-Assumption-535

In any case, the character of the series, is a bit different from the comic book run

ledzeppelinandimpala

One of my favorite fights in the show tbh, its great

Major-Assumption-535

Same! The amazing soundtrack also creates the perfect atmosphere!

ledzeppelinandimpala

For sure, I'd actually put it over Arrow vs Deathstroke

Major-Assumption-535

Same! Both of them, great fights with great atmosphere and a Deep meaning. But this fight in particular, just shows Oliver's struggle not just with his life, such as his moral freedom! Trading his same reason of life (his family) in order to defeat a bigger threat who has NOTHING to lose!

ledzeppelinandimpala

I like your input man, making me wanna rewatch the show

Major-Assumption-535

Thanks man! Consider that I have in plan the idea of re-writing the whole show, as a book, with a lot of plot corrections, based on what we would have wanted! Anyway, have a nice rewatch! (I'm currently on season 5 of rewatch!)

ledzeppelinandimpala

I hope you keep us updated on your book, I'd love to give it a read!

Major-Assumption-535

Thanks man! Soon, I'll make an announcement here, to also involve you, it could be a massive project, if i manage to execute it well!

ledzeppelinandimpala

Best of luck!

Major-Assumption-535

Thanks!

Slight-Bathroom-6179

How was this even a fight? Oliver beat Dark Archer, Deathstroke, Ras Al Ghoul, Damien Dhark, and Prometheus. Now he can’t beat a regular guy?

Major-Assumption-535

Well, Richard Dragon/Diaz, isn't just a simple gangster, but yeah, compared to other villains, it's strange how Diaz can put up a fight like this...

Galaxy_Megatron

Yeah, I have a hard time believing Diaz is on par or better than any of those guys Oliver beat in the past.

Homer_J_Fry

I'm in the minority here, but I found Diaz to be a great villain, precisely because he's just an ordinary criminal. It grounds the program to have somebody like that be the biggest threat. When the only people who are capable of seeming scary are secret assassins and Mirakuru-injected zombies, the world becomes harder to take seriously and more fantastical. I like that they established even Black Siren, the hardened killer, gets squeamish around a guy that sadistic. He literally burned a man alive 30 years later over a childhood grudge.
