Chase said he'd go after the person Oliver loved most and took William. I'd argue losing William and Thea would destroy Oliver completely, even more so than losing Felicity.
I wouldn't want Felicity to die. But if you want a death that would completely wreck him and put him on a pretty hardcore vengeance path, it would be Felicity.
I'd prefer it to be Thea or William though if I was watching it.
I like Felicity and while I agree that her death would be great narratively here, she's not part of this team arrow. Thea is.
Thea dying here would destroy Olli, and break Roy and really make Ollie going a bit more hardcore on the flash Rogues a clear juxtaposition with Barry who wouldn't have as much vengeance for a Thea death as he would a Felicity death
Not sure if this would work, but maybe have it open with Dinah dying, and that’s the inciting incident. Take out the only meta on the team, and show how serious it is.

Felicity, in my opinion. Not for the "hate" towarda the character, but in realistic talks, her death would definitely wreck and rip apart Oliver
