There aren't bathhouses in every city. They were dying off preCOVID and I'd be surprised to see anything that isn't corporate like Steamworks survive the decade.

It would be a bit sad... maybe?

Bathhouses are still very much active. Plan to go at peak times for your area. Friday/Saturday nights are usually best, with the busiest time often whenever the bars let out. Cruising spots, from personal experience, are still totally available but they are not as well-used/populated as they were even 5-10 years ago.

To a certain extent, yes. Inflation killed the remainder. I usually cruise apps so I can save the $30+ Why pay for entrance fee when a hosting is inviting for free?

They aren't a thing of the past. Bathhouses, cruising spots, and adult book stores suffered some setbacks (HIV, COVID), but never went away completely. When people realized how worthless the apps are for getting laid, these places experienced a resurgence in popularity. In many places that have these things, they are often busy. Bath houses in my city have waiting lists/lines to get in a busy times, and they are able to charge eyebrow raisingly high rates for entry. A couple months ago, a friend convinced me to check out a local cruisy park, and there were so many men there I was shocked, and not horny, because I don't like having sex with a crowd watching. As the real estate market continues tanking but people have no place private to meet up for sex, I expect new sex clubs to open, probably smaller places.

Sounds like you live in one of the "gay mecca" cities. What city is this? I live in a medium size town, and this is definitely not the case.

costconormcoreslut

It's hardly a mecca. It's Phoenix, a large city in the SW US, which means it's going to have things that smaller cities might not. Looking at cruising sites online though, there are random small sex clubs and ABSs operating in all sorts of towns and cities across the country. A lot of this will come down to local zoning rules and other laws regarding adult businesses. Things - bars, bath houses, ABSs - slowed down a lot during the early years of the apps, but picked up again by 2015 or so. Opening these places comes down to two things for most entrepreneurs: Either they love the business, or they believe it will make business sense. Most of the places that closed in the past 15 years did so because the real estate was too valuable to hold onto as a sex club. It didn't usually have anything to do with popularity of apps vs sex clubs, or political opposition.

I hope you are right

CuketkysTheGod

How desperate do you need to be to pay a homeless guy for sex?

AndrewBaiIey

The first (and last) time I've ever been to one (November 2022) it was quite well visited. And I went from like 5am to 7am in the morning!!!!
