As far as hiking goes there’s some very accessible trails you can easily get to with public transport from the waterfront. Look at the 4T-trail, also I love taking the MAX to Washington Park hiking through the arboretum and continuing on the wildwood trail to Pittock Mansion and down into Macleay park where you end up in the alphabet district for drinks and food. Have fun!

When you go to Powell’s (highly suggest if you like books, it’s wonderful) stop at Maurice if it’s open. It’s right down the street and has EXQUISITE pastries, desserts, and food. If you have time for tea or a longer meal, it’s just absolutely delightful. I’d recommend checking out anywhere on the East Side, I’m sure you’ve heard of the streets, generally Hawthorne, Division, etc. Have fun! It should be nice and rainy then too! Yay!!!!!

If you are able to rent a car I’d suggest a day-trip to the gorge (east of portland on I-84). There’s a bus that goes out there too. I’d recommend mt. Hood too but the roads may be pretty snowy this weekend. If that’s too far the arboretum in Washington park should have nice fall colors. Nearby is the Japanese garden which is definitely worth a stop.

Rent a bike instead of rideshare. You'll be glad you did!

I’d recommend forest park and the portland Audubon trail. Restaurants I’d recommend Luce, pastifico and noble rot (nobles my favorite). Wonderwood coffee just opened up and should be on your “must see” list as mike Bennett is a true gem of portland, plus it will bring you next to saint John’s bridge and cathedral park
