I was thinking something Paratrooper oriented, as airborne usually have smaller or lighter weapons, and the Guard use Grav Chutes instead of Parachutes.
I hadn't considered using the same name as the rifle, that's brilliant! Great idea! Maybe they fought at Flanders again in ww2? Or maybe I'd go with Arnhem
Indeed it is, but i've been naming the weapons I make after notable places they were used. For example, 'Arnhem' for the enfield no.4mk1, and 'Nam' pattern for the Armalite M16 that was first used in the 60s. Neither were made in Arnhem or Vietnam, but lots of them saw action there. Hope that helps explain the oddity : )
Thank you! : ) It's meant to equip sergeants, while the squad/section members are armed with rifles of the same ww2 aesthetic (my Arnhem Pattern Lasgun).
Next up is the Bren gun. It'll come in plasma and melta variants. So picture your guardsmen armed with grimdark style enfields, stens, and brens! : )
Vickers and Bofors will absolutely make their appearances as heavy weapons!
I don't know if the PIAT should be a grenade launcher or a missile launcher. Tough call.. thoughts?
That is a tough call...
Unless you make Piat the GL
The heavier missile launcher becomes an 2 or 6 pindar anti tank gun. Thr missile being represented by a 2 man crewed small anti tank gun.
...
Also ..someone needs a welrod.
And ...
If anyone screams Imperial guard officer...

Great ideas! Hmm I think I'll have to use the 6pdr as the lascannon, and the Piat as the missile launcher.
The grenade launcher might just have to be a rifle with a rifle grenade loaded on the muzzle, since they didnt really have squad based grenade launchers other than that in ww2.
That welrod looks like something a British Sly Marbo might be wielding! Haha perfect!
And you're right about that officer, might have to make him a commissar. Of course Monty will have to make an appearance as an officer too. Obligatory haha
Also..
Sorry ww2 history nerd escaping. It's out. Loose and has warhammer ideas lol
The D day piper and Lord Lovet. He had a jumper, a hunting rifle, and so, storming a beach.

Absolutely wicked! Between this and the enfield, my next pass at my WWII style lads are going to need some.
On that note...I am here to formally inquire about / request a version with a slanted las style muzzle 😅
Thanks! : )
I'm also working on a Bren. I'm doing two variants, one will be a plasma gun and the other will be a melta gun. Right now the base Bren model is almost done. After that the two variants should drop in short order.
The trigger guard is the box hanging off the bottom. The trigger is within the trigger guard. In this case, I didnt fully separate the trigger from the trigger guard to help with 3d printing. Hope that helps explain whats going on down there : )
It needs the muzzle break that all autoguns in the game has. Just about every weapon type has its distinctive design element that lets you know it is that class of weapon.

It was invented by Sir William Grav, obviously

Ooh I like jump gun or the subcompact auto/ripper
I really like tanker autogun
Flanders pattern autogun sounds cool to me
I hadn't considered using the same name as the rifle, that's brilliant! Great idea! Maybe they fought at Flanders again in ww2? Or maybe I'd go with Arnhem
Man from Flanders here, I can confirm that the Sten was used by British soldiers during ww2, there's a pretty big amount of them in our ww2 musea.
I'm like 90% positive there was fighting at Flanders since Germany controlled France
Stupid sexy Flanders "It feels like I'm shooting nothing at all"
Nothing at all... nothing at all.. hahaha
“Hi-diddly-ho, xenolino!”
Enfield pattern maybe? Isn't Flanders a place on Belgium
Indeed it is, but i've been naming the weapons I make after notable places they were used. Turpin Pattern Autopistol Mk. V sounds sufficiently British to me
Turpin Pattern *Machine Autopistol Mk. V

Wait, so this has 2 magazines? Any reason why? Really cool design though.
I think the magazine on the bottom is the trigger guard.
Just in case you run out of ammo in a pinch
Thanks! : ) Only one magazine, its off to the side. The trigger guard is the bit on the bottom.
Ah, my mistake, you've not hollowed out the trigger guard, it kind of looks like a 2nd mag
No worries! : ) I think I may just go ahead and hollow that bit out since it seems to be confusing people.
Don’t have to change the name. Just make sure you credit the design to Arkhan Sten (distantly related to another canon inventor).
I really like this as a proxy for the sgt gun. Maybe treat it like a compact lasrifle? Scatter Rifle? FLN Lascarbine (Flanders pattern lascsrbine?)

That sounds awesome. Post a pic when you’re done!
Sounds awesome. Maxim guns and 40mm bofors too?

Love the lore! I did want to keep it as 'sten mk2' as possible, and the bit about quickly, cheaply arming friendly forces is perfect

Ooh a Sten bolter would be awesome, too! I'll have to make a bigger version for space marines to carry!
Ben
Haha i might have to use that for the Bren.. 'the Ben gun' hahaha
The Sterling sub machine gun.
The Sterling can certainly trace its roots to the Sten.. maybe i'll do the Sterling for some chaos traitor guard!
I'd say vikers model auto carbine or vmac mk4
vmac is fun to say
I thought so also had to keep british theme of the sten

Ok its posted! : ) called the Caen Pattern Lasgun

Wow, that is an extremely good idea!
How does it shoot; there is no trigger O_o?
The trigger guard is the box hanging off the bottom. The trigger is within the trigger guard. In this case, I didnt fully separate the trigger from the trigger guard to help with 3d printing. Hope that helps explain whats going on down there : )

I know exactly the flash hider you mean. I've been torn on whether to add it or not.
Add it where the front sight post is. You’ll have to redesign the area, but this way you’ll keep the barrel and shroud
Also take a look at the Chaos Cultist leader from Black Fortress. She has what is called an Auto Carbine
Isn't that just a grease gun?
Grease gun has a wire stock, bottom mag feed and no cooling jacket.
The US M3 Grease gun came out after the UK's Sten Gun.
The grease gun is its US sibling. Just in .45 with a slower rate of fire to the Sten. Both fulfilled an requirement for a cheap mass produced weapon.
