go get yourself a mini microscope, they’re like $20, or a loupe, or even a strong magnifying glass. you’ll want to wait till those trichomes start getting golden brown ish. not just milky, keep going!
yes that’s true that if picked early it will have a more energetic high. but you should let the trichomes develop fully regardless. if worried about rain, or excess heat, try covering with shade cloth which is perforated plastic. try to avoid getting wet as that will of course make it mould. water from the base, not above, start picking off lower fan leaves if you haven’t already. i don’t personally like to pick all the fan leaves, but i clean up where excess leafy growth, and through the middle.
Why let it fully develop regardless if it’s more of a energetic buzz that you want? Some days I like to have that buzz feeling and clean up the house and make a productive day out of it. Other days I like to just zone out on the couch. So just letting it fully develop regardless doesn’t make sense
you’ll develop the plants full potential of terpenes, cannabinoids etc. if you let them ripen, just standard practice. the thc gets pretty high right at the end, so also that. you should choose different strains if your looking for different effects. But go ahead and pick early if you’re into that. it’s like a green tomato, still tasty just different. that’s the great thing about growing your own, harvest when you want. no judgement. the difference of picking early vs late isn’t going to be that drastic, so don’t get too excited about it. Grow some Durban Poison and you’ll never have to worry about housecleaning again.

Depends what kind of high you are after, I hear milky trichnomes will give you more of a head buzz, amber will give you body buzz.

Yeh fair point. I thought the thc highest point was the milky stage? Then it’s drops the more ripe you let it go?
