They are an invasive species and it would be great if they could be eliminated from the country, but I really dislike it when people moralise/anrhropomorphise animals like this. If they are 'murdering' baby animals than so is every native predator and so are we for that matter. Sorry to rant but I've seen people use this sort of moralising to defend straight up animal abuse against 'pests'.
Well, let’s see. The mynahs kept coming back to the box investigating it and being hunted off by the parents. They waited and attacked when I was out and the parent galahs were off feeding.
The mynahs also tossed the dead chicks out of the box. I found the female galah with the bodies and she was mourning. Galahs mate for life. The pair share all responsibilities for egg nesting, feeding chicks, the lot.
The mynahs are rat cunning. For the record I kill humanely using a bird trap and gassing them.
You can call it whatever you like but humans are not the only animals to have emotions.
