I can tell you my grandma has a friend that is partially deaf from going to so many concerts and she absolutely regrets it. She has a really hard time having conversations with her friends and family. People dislike talking to her because it's so difficult and as an older person that's really hard on her.

Started raving in 2001. Took a break for a long time because life. Also used to listen to metal and have been in mosh pits. The two types of events have always been different experiences and not compatible.
Got back into electronic music and went to festivals only to see people moshing when I expected a rave. I was like “Wtf is this?”
Yep. It's not KY vibe either. Started raving around 2004 and Trance was king at the time. I just can't get the headbanging at electronic shows, and also a life long metal head. I go to different events for different vibes.

Mm they’re only mildly deaf Maybe when I’m 30/40 I’ll get some nice nerfy earplugs to muffle up the sound
