Ok I am not that far yet. this is the only module I have that increase my shield it go from 8k to 59k just from this 1 module seems really really strong compared to the other shield modules i found. I have a green one like -11% anti matter dmg.

How helpful are the shield modules? My own ships usually have large shield generators so I haven't used any of those, but other players swear by them.

most yellow tier energy to shield generators give you over +100% additional shield while it's drawback of reduced energy stacks additively with generator upgrades (i.e. easy to negate) and you can stack them... given that from expert onwards enemies can individually destroy each block and on insane or hardcore you'll loose any turrets if the block that they are mounted on gets destroyed, you'll want any damage prevention to individual blocks you can. Add a resurrector shield module and you can stack shield to the point where the enemy can't bring it down before the shield refill is off cooldown again.

this 1 module is like 2/3's of my ship health. Im limited by building knowledge and cant build bigger ships yet I think if I wanted 51.000 shield from shield generator and generator blocks my whole ship would have to be built from those blocks.
