Better than my cat. He won’t even go out there. He meows at the door until I open it, at which point he places a single paw into the snow, remembers he hates snow and pulls the paw right back inside. Rinse and repeat 10x a day.
all 10 of my cats are rescues. they know how it is outside. they will line up at the door when im feeding strays, but i can leave it wide open and they wouldnt even step outside. they know theyre safe and warm indoors lol.
i have saved over 200 cat in my area. local TNR always full and really slow turnaround. so i just do it myself with my own money. they too cute to let suffer.
You've likely saved more than that my friend. There's a poster at my local animal shelter that said "want to know how to save 100 cats? Spay or neuter one"
Female cats have an average of 3 litters a year. At an average of 5 kittens a litter, over a life span of 10 to 15 years, that's over 150 kittens per cat.
If you factor in the number of kittens you have prevented from being born into those conditions, you've probably saved the lives of thousands.
As a former vet tech, I cannot thank you enough.
of course. ever since i started the surrounding area has no cat problems. sometimes a new cat or two would pop up, but we keep track and try to get them quick before a ton of babies start popping out. it started out with us taking care of strays and feeding them. then more and more kept appearing. we realized they were breeding like animals and needed to stop uit. we are in the suburbs so they thrive & get hit by cars... you know? we wanted to prevent that.
200+ cats / mostly kittens adopted out. the old mommies from the beginning live with us, and some of their litterls we didnt wanna seperate (thankfully each litter was only of 2 cats haha) which is why i have 10 cats (+ 4 more we are fostering right now).
they multiply like crazy.
edit: i realized i been saying i have 10 cats to people for a while... havent actually thought about the fact that it's actually been 13 for a while LOL.
We have an unheated back porch we let the cats onto, we have one who will sit at the door in the middle of winter wanting outside then you open the door and he looks out and shakes his front feet one at a time then heads out, no snow no water just shakes his feet like "alright lets do this" and out he goes.
My cat was screaming at me to go outside. Had never been outside. About a foot of snow on the ground. She was tiny, so why not? She noped out immediately.
It's interesting. My sister lives in the country and had this little stray come up to her house. She decided to stick around, and she will hide out in the garage but is afraid of the inside. She prefers to stay outside. She seemed really stressed out the first time my sister brought her in, but when it was extremely cold out my sister brought her in again and she seemed content to sit on my lap but not necessarily to explore the house.
I’ve heard that cats like to be able to “roam their territory” freely, which is why they will do that with doors because they want you to leave it open. But nobody’s doing that with snow outside.
When everyone else is just ready to go out,
The cat is just ready to come in,
He's not where he's been.
Cats sleep fat and walk thin.

Depends on the cat, friend of mine had one that got out than ran away like a scaredy cat that he is because something spooked him. Week later he came back, ran inside and if the outside door even opens, he runs away from it. He does NOT want to go back outside ever again, probably traumatized him.
Think of it, though. Cat doesn’t initially know what’s out there that can threaten it’s survival: wolves, foxes, fisher cats, coyotes, bigger cats, cars, bad people, dogs…imagine how it must feel when one of those things does threaten their life…yeah, they’d probably be traumatized.
Haha yep! Some of mine insist that the snow or rain isn’t that bad and come back in soaking wet (or adorably covered in snowflakes!). They come in and decide that they like being indoor cats after all.
Had a former outdoor, now indoor cat try to jump outside before we had a nasty freeze when I was opening a door. I punted that kitty as softly as I could away. Thankfully she was very warm and very cuddly during the whole experience.
My cat did that and I didn't realize it. About an hour later I saw a drenched cat standing outside the front door. "He looks just like Doc!" Took a second...
I accidentally kidnapped a random neighborhood cat one time because of that. My (indoor) cat had a habit of bolting out the front door like a goddamn ninja whenever she could, so I wasn't too surprised to see her wandering around nearby while I was walking home from the store. Scooped her up and carried her back inside, and was rather confused when, still holding her in my arms, I spotted her already laying on the couch.
My cat, a black cat named Tabitha, had a twin outside. We jokingly called her Agatha because of the similarities. Agatha eventually was tamed down and when she was sick we brought her in.
Caused alllll kinds of confusion having two identical black cats with rhyming names ahaha.
My roommate's indoor cat stuck got outside the other night without me noticing when I took my dog out before bedtime. Roommate is out of town as well. The cat was outside in freezing weather for 8 hours, I didn't even know until I went to let my dog out in the morning.
The cat didn't even seem stressed, he just walked back inside as if it had only been a few minutes. To be fair tho, he's pretty fat so I guess all that insulation was useful.
Can attest, some cats just don't give a fuck about the cold. I used to have an indoor/outdoor girl and one evening I was like "wow it's 20 degrees, she's probably cold" so I opened the door to let her in and she was rolling around on the freezing concrete like it was a warm spring day 🤷♂️
I mean I came home the other night and two of my cats were sitting on my truck when it was 12*. Then the same cats are sitting 2 feet in front of my 650* wood stove the next day. There pretty smart so I just let them do what they want.
Yeah our cats sit right in front of our fireplace. I have an infrared thermometer and clocked him at 155 F once on his fur. Dude was purring and loving life lol
Yep! My single-cell having orangie does the same thing. He managed to figure out how to paw open the door between house and garage, too (gotta get it fixed) and goes in and out 300 times a day...making it cold in the house.
Sounds like one of ours. Takes every chance he can get to zip out the door, but then gets shellshocked by *being outside* and suddenly wants nothing more than to come back in and not have to step on the cold, wet ground anymore lol
>Sounds like one of ours. Takes every chance he can get to zip out the door, but then gets shellshocked by

>being outside
Way back in the day, we had a Siamese cat named Sam. She'd ruled the neighborhood back home in a suburb of Phoenix for years, but as she got older she started losing fights and we had to keep her indoors.
Then we moved to southern Tennessee, and my folks got a place way out in the boonies, and my younger brother started raising chickens, ducks, and some geese in our front yard.
One day, Sam managed to get out the back door while they (my folks and my brother) were all out in the front yard. She heard them talking out there and came walking around the side of the house.
My mom looked over in time to see the moment when Sam saw the birds - the birds that were as big as her, or bigger.
She FROZE mid-step. Literally one foot up, not moving a muscle. Mom picked her up and took her in the house. Sam never tried to get out again.
Our pet theory is that she was afraid she'd died and gone to kitty hell when she saw those huge birds.
My cat loves to run out the back door. In the rain/cold/snow, she'll "nope" the fuck out and immediately run back inside... but in the summer, she just runs to the grass and starts rolling around in it.
Mine does that but with cement, even if it’s 40 out, out she goes just to roll. Then afterwards she’ll do other stuff before trotting back in all innocent.
Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate. So he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of *his* family.
My cat did that ONCE. She refused to come back in one warm winter night. Knowing that it wouln't be too bad and that she do stay out in the cold for a loooong time, we said "F* her!" Well, she was at the door early in the morning. Didn't asked to go out for a few days. Never refused to come back at night since then.
That cat was a quick learner. I miss her.
“Toby is a cat so he’s not really a part of our family. He’s also adopted so he’s not really a part of his family either.”
I’m sure Toby is very much a part of the family but I couldn’t resist lol.
My cat's the same way. Sometimes, though, she stands by the door with a look on her face that lets me know I opened the wrong door and I need to 'open the door to spring.'
LOL! That happened to my cat last week when I was carrying in groceries. Luckily I eventually noticed that I was short one furbody. Not a good idea in Wisconsin Winter!
He doesn't look remorseful, he looks like he just now understood that once again his curiosity caused him to make a bad choice. It's tough being a curious cat. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
He's not remorseful.
He's mad you closed the door behind him, and had the AUDACITY to make it COLD out.
And keep his kibble in.
You're a monster, obviously.
He looks less like he has regrets and more like he's mad at you for allowing such foolishness.
"How dare you let me for what i insisted on doing‽ I didn't enjoy it!"
sorry, that's not the remorse face. that's the 'you can't find good help anymore' face. you're supposed to know when he's ready to come in and be there to oblige him. sheesh, it's like you've never had a cat before. /s
There was a neighborhood cat that looked like my cat’s twin, and he would wander near our house every once and a while. One morning I went out to my car and the neighborhood cat was sitting in my driveway, and I immediately thought it was my cat that snuck out and tried to catch him, until I realized my cat was still inside and watching from the window. I got excited one day when I got home and there was the neighborhood cat again, and he even came over to let me pet him! As I was going inside he tried to follow me, and that’s when I realized it was actually my damn cat who has snuck out, had an adventure, and now wanted to go back inside.
He is precious. I have a picture of my last kitty in much the same situation, except she's being loud about not listening when I told her she didn't want to go out. 😛
He has the tiniest little frown. So cute!
*We're not talking about it just open the door.*
*Door opens, cat walks away* “Fuck you.”
^^^^This guy cats!
Why did you leave the door open for me?? 😾
Lol this is totally how they think!
Yeah, that's about the right (c)attitude!
That face… is killing me.
His ears are ever so slightly pointing down and away. Almost like he's obviously annoyed, but too proud to admit he screwed up.

I would pre-order that shit as soon as I could! Do we need a kickstarter to make this hapen?!
This is great, Schnoodle.
The first 2023 Schnoodle I've seen! And it's a doozy. Thank you Schnoodle. Happy new year.
You just inspired a Schnoodle post. I thought you might like to know.
Thanks! I feel so special 🥰
I got a Schnoodle once and I didn’t stop smiling for like a month afterwards.
He’ll never do it again, until the next time
Man, can I identify with this. One of our cat insists on going out 27 times a day. Then, she insists on being let back in within 2 minutes. Such fun!
Better than my cat. He won’t even go out there. He meows at the door until I open it, at which point he places a single paw into the snow, remembers he hates snow and pulls the paw right back inside. Rinse and repeat 10x a day.

I know from firsthand experience in the In 'n Out game is, but I laughed a lot at this. Come to think of it, that's probably why I laughed so hard!

Your cat is just insistent that if you do it right you will be able to open for him the door into Summer.
My binge drinking college ass could aslo identify with never doing it again until next time
I’ve heard that cats like to be able to “roam their territory” freely, which is why they will do that with doors because they want you to leave it open. But nobody’s doing that with snow outside.

My cat Elsie does exactly the same. Drives me mad!

Orange kitty only has one brain cell. They'll forget by the time their little beans warm up.
My cat going outside in winter: woohoo freeedom! My cat coming in: I have regerts :(
I almost always let my cat run out if she *really wants* when it is rainy or snowy outside. She always regrets it almost immediately.
Haha yep! Some of mine insist that the snow or rain isn’t that bad and come back in soaking wet (or adorably covered in snowflakes!). They come in and decide that they like being indoor cats after all.

My cat actually has an outdoor doppelganger. It has raised concerns a few times.

That's how we sneaked a cat past our dad, worked into he saw them chasing each other.

lmao
No no... That's what a dog might say. Cats? Oh no. YOU; YOU've made a huge mistake. And you better not do it again, *human*.
Ooooh.... you'd better hope you aren't the manager, because he looks like he wants to have some ***words***
The words he has are "I'm sorry." He was very grateful to be let back inside.
Sounds like one of ours. Takes every chance he can get to zip out the door, but then gets shellshocked by *being outside* and suddenly wants nothing more than to come back in and not have to step on the cold, wet ground anymore lol

I’m not sure that is a remorseful face. It say more “Why?” With a dash of “how could you?”
TOBERS! Get in here, you sad nut.
He's like, I told you I'd be only a few minutes and you shut the door on me, ass.
Look who's back. It's Toby. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!
You beat me to it. We’ll done.
"Just let me in pal, ffs"
Remorseful but thinks you're wasting time getting to the door by taking a picture of his adorable sad face.
I regret everything.
Oh Toby. You asshole. You furry, cozy, sweet, funny asshole.
Why are you the way that you are? I hate so much about the things you choose to be.
“I don’t want to hear it, just open the door.” 😹
I love the name Toby for an orange cat. Short for Tobiko?
Short for Toby Flenderson
![gif](giphy|qNzamLsqvp3zi|downsized)
This is his return from Costa Rica to Office hahaha
Same for my Toby!!
“Toby is a cat so he’s not really a part of our family. He’s also adopted so he’s not really a part of his family either.” I’m sure Toby is very much a part of the family but I couldn’t resist lol.
I have a orange cat named Toby too. I call him Tobias when he’s in trouble.
Is his middle name Zachary?
No, he's one of a set of twins. So when you see one, you ask, Toby or not Toby?
Took me way too long to get this.
My cat's the same way. Sometimes, though, she stands by the door with a look on her face that lets me know I opened the wrong door and I need to 'open the door to spring.'
My cat will book it outside and then returns seconds later if it’s too cold, snowy or rainy
Remorseful? I doubt it. He’s pissed at you for it being cold out and wants you to change the weather so he can frolic
LOL! That happened to my cat last week when I was carrying in groceries. Luckily I eventually noticed that I was short one furbody. Not a good idea in Wisconsin Winter!
“Let me explain…So what had happen was…” ~Toby
Mistakes were made
“Sorry dad”
He looks like he ain't gonna talk to you for a week ^"You ^better ^feed ^me ^well..."
Remorseful, my arse, looks to me like he's placing the blame squarely on YOU!
I can imagine his reaction to you would be similar to this cat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4eYyBML4-M
He’s so orange! Please pet him for me (fellow orange lover)
He doesn't look remorseful, he looks like he just now understood that once again his curiosity caused him to make a bad choice. It's tough being a curious cat. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
I have seen the other side!......and it's fricking cold, let me in!
I'd say hopefully he learned his lesson but we all know cats

"You tricked me."
I desperately need to cuddle Toby 😍😍
Very much agreed. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|hug)
He looks less like he has regrets and more like he's mad at you for allowing such foolishness. "How dare you let me for what i insisted on doing‽ I didn't enjoy it!"
Yeah, that's that remorse. He's blaming op for the weather. I know my cat acts the same when he insists on going out in the rain.
"I am sneaky. And now I haz regrets."
“You shut the door on me “
What are you doing just standing there?!?!? Let him in already!! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
Aww so adorable even when he is sad
so cute! let tha lil orangie in!
So he's hungry
that is a cat who regrets his life choices
He's wondering why you didn't hold the door open while he was out.
idk - I think he's angry at you for not having left the door open the entire time.
"Mistakes were made"
What a dirty trick to cover the world in snow just to take away my liberty!
That's the look of "Mistakes were made."
sorry, that's not the remorse face. that's the 'you can't find good help anymore' face. you're supposed to know when he's ready to come in and be there to oblige him. sheesh, it's like you've never had a cat before. /s
“Mistakes were made.”
“You we’re right it’s cold outside and I don’t like it”
Let me in human, it is cold and there are no foods out here.
"Father... I have made a grave mistake..."
I live in the actual arctic and my cat will request to go out two to three times a day!
I have seen this look before. He snuck out to the bar after work and now he’s drunk and just wants to go to bed.

Lettt mmmee iiinnnnn 🥶🥶🥶
More like re-Morris-ful, right? Anybody? Anybody? Guys?
There was a neighborhood cat that looked like my cat’s twin, and he would wander near our house every once and a while. One morning I went out to my car and the neighborhood cat was sitting in my driveway, and I immediately thought it was my cat that snuck out and tried to catch him, until I realized my cat was still inside and watching from the window. I got excited one day when I got home and there was the neighborhood cat again, and he even came over to let me pet him! As I was going inside he tried to follow me, and that’s when I realized it was actually my damn cat who has snuck out, had an adventure, and now wanted to go back inside.
Who is your Toby and what does he do?
When our Tabby tries to get out, we always say “what’s your plan?” He has none- he just can’t help himself.
You can tell he's not a fan by the floof of his tail. That's a little guy who has a new appreciation for snow.
He looks a little ticked off. 🤭
Toby: Mistakes were made.
Little dude looks like resolute in his hatred of winter. He just like me for real
Human i left the home and i regret everything. I will do it again given the chance.
That's what you get Toby. Outside is mean.
Toby's a fool. Always has been. Always will be.
"Those holidays songs left me seriously uninformed."
regret regret regret
He looks so sorry!
I used to have a cat exactly like him and same name. I lived for 18-19 years
I have been ~~falling~~ *freezing* for thirty minutes!

"this isn't funny anymore. I live here..."
He looks like he is blaming you for letting him sneak out!
I bet he won't do it again!
Aww.
Remorseful? He looks like he's going to cut you if you don't open the door ASAP.
"orange cat" is special breed
Mistakes were made. 😆
Let me in meow.
Omg let him in right now ❤️
He is precious. I have a picture of my last kitty in much the same situation, except she's being loud about not listening when I told her she didn't want to go out. 😛
Be careful, he's been on the streets.... he's seen some thaaaaangs lol
😹😹😹
Damn, FireStar really misses being a kittyPet (Warrior cat fans will understand)
