We had a sad parsley plant like 3 years ago and one day we noticed some black dots, then a few days later we had like 4 of these guys. In the end we had two chrysalises (not sure where the others went) and no parsley. it was neat to watch them change.
I used to buy three parsley plants. One for me and two for the caterpillars. 🐛 They used to eat mine, too but I didn’t mind because they’re so darn cute.
Nice! I had one on my parsley (grown just for the caterpillars) and I've had one gulf fritillary caterpillar on my passionflower. Milkweed is anxiously awaiting customers!
Catbirds have taken over my garden, while the blue jays seem to prefer my neighbor's seed selection. Fortunately the catbirds don't seem to go after my two swallowtail caterpillars (though they can have the invasive spongy moth caterpillars as far as I'm concerned).
Ughh, all I can say is dont get too attached. We had a pair of black swallowtail chonkers and were getting fat on the dill. But then on Thursday there was only 1, and on Friday there were none. Goddamn birds...
Keep planting dill for more "Pickles". We planted two dill plants two years ago and got inundated with caterpillars and monarch butterflies. It was awesome to dozens of them chilling on the screen of our porch.
The way he walks his little hands down the leaf!😍
Very efficient technique, not a bite wasted or lost.
They look like they're playing a tiny saxophone!
🎷 🐛
This is freaking adorable I'm terrified of caterpillars and centipedes but Pickle I like!! Aww 💚🖤🤍
Your fear is justified. I was bitten by one like 6 years ago. On holy ground, no less
Multipeets!
Aka Dillon, because Pickles be getting his Dill on. Idk. Cute tho!
There's another one on the same plant I've been calling Dillbert, but Dillbert hasn't moved in three days—perhaps working on a chrysalis.
Ahahaha I love it. That'll be exciting!
Next one needs to be named Tommy for main char of rugrats

Plus I'm happy for them to pollinate the wildflowers and plants around my house!
Everyone knows Pickles is a really BIG DILL!! I love this!
You named him Pickles *because* he's eating your Dill, didn't you?
Yes! And the other one who's been chilling on the same plant is called Dillbert.
It’s amazing to see how fast it’s eating. The majority of that plant will be gone in a couple of days.
I've already used it for several dishes, so I'm willing to sacrifice it for the good of the wildflowers nearby!
That’s a very hungry caterpillar.
Came here for this comment. Thank you.
I'm the first one? Dill Pickles!
I think OP might have been the first one. You can have second place though
Omg 🙄
This is a big dill, hope pickles turns into a beautiful butterfly!
A cute little flexible pet you have
My back hurts watching this!
I have an irrational fear of insects, and I even think he's kinda cute.
I was just thinking that
Whooo… are… you? https://preview.redd.it/e2fhusosw17d1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ae78d3d3a3f25364dbd767ef37a3fac2ae62594e

Only monarchs for the finest wilkweed!
What a chubby lil angel!
What a doll!!!🐛🐛🐛
Quite the fast eater
Don’t lie this is Heimlich from Bug’s Life
Oh, they love dill.
Hopefully the birds near you don't like Pickles too much!

🥰 I love this!
Get In Ma Belly! Pickles is the cutest caterpillar I've ever seen.
Check out that nom speed!
I know you don't mind but I think it's kind of a big dill
The little hands! 😍
I could happily watch this for hours! What an adorable little critter. Wish we could hear epic chomping noises!
After eating he is going smoke his hookah pipe!
Hungry man! 🥰
He’s a dill pickle!
Beautiful.
Doin a grassophone solo!!
DILL PICKLES!
Nice name
He also loves parsley, fennel, and carrot tops!
SHE IS BEAUTIFULLLL
@ 0:30, looks like he's smoking a hookah or playing a sax
What camera are you using?
Just my iPhone 11.
I was afraid of insects, but now I think they're kind of cute 🤔🤔
If you tickle Pickles, his scent horns will come out.
Well, you can always go to the supermarket if you need more dill. Pickles cannot. Pickles appreciates your understanding
~~adorable~~ a-dill-able

I plant dill for these guys every year, and they'll make their crysalis on the plant
What a cool looking little guy 😍
Your garden sounds like a relaxation track. So peaceful.
He's so cute!
I sacrificed my dill to a black swallowtail, too! He’s now chilling in his chrysalis on my vinyl siding. 😍
Oh yeah these little guys absolutely obliterated all my dill plants a couple years ago. So cute
I love watching caterpillars eat
Mr or Ms Pickles
Ohhh he’s hungryyyy
I don't know why people think caterpillars are disgusting, i like them and i sometimes spend a lot of time just watching them

It just be dill-icious! Get it?
I took a picture of one of these guys in macro with some awesome bokeh; the picture won me an award!
The way he's going at it soon there will be no dill plant. Very efficient eater. Is very cute though.
And here I was, sitting, waiting and wishing a cardinal would swoop in....
