You are right. I think parents should control what their kids are doing on the internet. The scale of shit on the internet these days scares me. I know I sound like a boomer but this is the fact.
I haven't mentioned I have the original VHS and DVD of azumanga and I think manga is way better than anime. Manga has more content than anime, and also the vibe is better. I love reading Azumanga and listening to good classic jazz, like Stevie Wonder's "Characters" and drinking home made vine. Yeah, I'm probably the only Azumanga fan that reads it like that.
As a person with a (god damn I want to put here a magical f word + ing) schizophrenia and Autism I feel bad when people without any mental sickness saying they have sickness because they are just silly and stupid. Or they are joking about sickness like that makes me really sad.
The “fans” that haven’t seen the show/read the manga are corny asf but this is coming off as one of those “le younger generation bad!! My generation good!!” posts made by boomers. (Not) sorry.
Also I hate to tell you this, but actual “og” fans would be people that were fans in the 2000s.
Oldtaku here. I watched and read Azumanga back in the 00s when it came to the US as part of the second anime boom.
It's just the way these things go. The fact Azumanga gets to live on as a meme is more than most series from that era get to say. Like, who's making jokes about Love Hina in 2024? It's just cultural natural selection that happens in every generation.
But because of the shit posts and bad memes there's a greater chance of people watching than there would be otherwise. And that's a good thing.
To toot my own horn I [wrote an article about this once. ](http://Mono no Aware and Azumanga Daioh https://medium.com/@metaltigerdude/mono-no-aware-and-azumanga-daioh-51af2628f6ea) Some people liked it.
Honestly, I think it's simply that a new young generation has rediscovered Azumanga Daioh, which certainly isn't a bad thing, and they're just applying their typical sense of humor to it.
i mean i watched the show like 6ish months ago, i loved every bit of it and yea i do agree with the adhd and the roblox bit being a little anoying but most of them just use the same osaka memes without watching the show (oh my gah and sataa andagi and what not) its true that some of them annoy me but realisticly what can you do about it on the internet
I think it just had a resurgence with a younger audience, when you say
>Generation alpha take over the Azumanga community, that fact makes me a bit sad knowing my teenager favorite manga community is takeovered by generation alpha.
It comes off as you're gatekeeping the show. The brainrot memes exist because people like the show and manga. And that should be seen as a good thing because the show has gotten an extra life once again.
And how do you know they haven't seen / read it? What about me, I've only seen 20 episodes what camp am I in? Are you just assuming people haven't seen or read it?
I had to unsubscribe for a bit to this community when someone posted a real footage of an execution committed by Daesh with Osakas and Chiyos faces on the murderer and victim. How did we go from a nice funny shojo manga to … whatever this is?
Most of the "fans" are just people who haven't seen an episode of the show and just saw the "America-Ya" and "Sata Andagi" memes online. Even though I hate those people, I'm ashamed to say that both of those are the reason I actually began watching Azumanga Daioh.
I honestly just see the memes now as a continuation of early YouTube anime shitposting. I honestly don't think much has changed, just the meme portion is more present now due to the lack of new content 🤷
I dont see the problem. The memes are funny and it expands the reach of the community. "TELL THEM TO BRING OUT THE LOBSTER" was how i discovered the show in the first place
I hear you on the roblox part but tbh gen alpha brainrot humor is everywhere nowadays
You are right. I think parents should control what their kids are doing on the internet. The scale of shit on the internet these days scares me. I know I sound like a boomer but this is the fact.
Nah yeah I can’t imagine giving my kid an electronic device to call their own before they’re even in middle school.
I like both tbh, original manga/anime is a solid & cute comedy and the memes tickle my brain in a good way lol

Its become a meme. People see osaka being silly and go "Waow... so me.... autism.....". Every hobby ever has fake fans, stuff like Berserk especially.

Sadly its how the internet works nowadays :( the web's become a cesspit of brainrotted kids and corporate propaganda, what can we do
I need woods. And piano... Or my Korg M1.
Realest thing I've heard in a while.

Probably you are right. But I haven't mentioned I live in the eastern part of Europe. So I think for my localisation I'm kind of og.

Thanks! Glad someone fixed it for me. Not sure what happened.

Remember. Parental control.
true

I'm talking about part of the community that never readed or watched azumanga.
And how do you know they haven't seen / read it? What about me, I've only seen 20 episodes what camp am I in? Are you just assuming people haven't seen or read it?
idk a lot of them really haven't seen it
Seems unlikely this show or manga would have many modern fans without meme influence, I never would’ve even heard about it
I'm kinda not talking about the good modern part of the community. I'm talking about these "weird kids".
I had to unsubscribe for a bit to this community when someone posted a real footage of an execution committed by Daesh with Osakas and Chiyos faces on the murderer and victim. How did we go from a nice funny shojo manga to … whatever this is?
This is why I hate spoiled kids without parental control.

Sata

I don't see much of that tbh? Only if i look for it do i see those types of posts
I dont see the problem. The memes are funny and it expands the reach of the community. "TELL THEM TO BRING OUT THE LOBSTER" was how i discovered the show in the first place
azumanga daioh is so lovely the brainrot memes can't fucking compare to it. iwish more of them would watch and read it it's so good
