Hi OP. Thank you for this terrible UI. Also, do you miss the old bad UI battles? Join us on [Lemmy](https://programming.dev/c/bad_ui_battles)

Actually at first I thought *this UI is less bad than I remember 🤔* then I realized *oh it's because the screenshot is in logged out state 😅*
Also I almost mispelled *screenshot* as *screenshit*, which sounds kinda right...
I actually like this UI, but why is it ONLY available when signed out? I get everyone hates change, but I think after a bit people will get accustomed to it.
Uh I think if you go to new.reddit.com while logged in, and then go to settings, you change the default reddit.com to new Reddit.
It shouldn't only be available while logged out unless you've changed previously che settings (and forgotten)
This one is at least better than the old shitty and laggy one. I've never seen a slower site than new.reddit.com ever.
Also, I can't even login using this UI. As soon as I login, it redirects to the laggy site again.
Forcing people to use a different layout is obviously bad, but I really don't get the new layout hate. I actually prefer it over the old one since you don't have to click on a post to see the images. Can someone enlighten me?
I open a post to read the comments. New reddit shows like 2 top-level comments and one or two of their immediate replies. Old reddit shows full threads.
It's slow, it doesn't let you just view the content you want, you get way more ads, it constantly tries shoving things you aren't subscribed to in your face, and yeah it's also in many people's opinion ugly.
Ah, i see thanks
When I use Reddit on desktop I generally don't browse the homepage so I didn't really notice it and I didn't really have issues with ads cause... well, I guess you know why

>Also I almost mispelled screenshot as screenshit, which sounds kinda right... ...right the way u/spez actually is
Look at that little, despicable button in the top right. Maybe if it turns more background colored, it can disappear completely.
Just looking at a screen shot of it makes me mad.

the official app is cancer, and also looks like cancer

old reddit
I realise I've actually never seen that interface, thanks to RES. Another few days and I'll have to drop my reddit usage drastically anyway.
Old Reddit without RES is almost exactly the same, just with less features.
Forcing people to use a different layout is obviously bad, but I really don't get the new layout hate. I actually prefer it over the old one since you don't have to click on a post to see the images. Can someone enlighten me?

RES fixes that on old reddit.
Thank you, but why is the redesign so hated?

I actually dont have any ads, is it because i'm in russia?
No idea
