I currently own the G2. Before buying i did some research and from reviews that I saw the biggest difference between each generation seems to be the brightness. So if you aren’t in a super bright room you can get the one that fits your budget. Oh and iirc the C1 doesn’t have a 42” model so the smallest is a 48”, but the C2, C3… have 42” size models if you want to use the TV as a monitor.
I've been using a C3 as my primary monitor since it released. I have no complaints since it does everything well. Its brighter than the previous models, but I'd be happy with a C2 too. If you can get the C3 for under £1k, get it and you won't have any regrets
Either 42 or 48 LG C1/C2/C3/CX. 4k 120hz oled. It's the most owned oled in the oled gaming sub. I have a 48 at my desk, wife has a 42 at her desk. It will ruin all other gaming displays for you. You've been warned.
I have a 32” as a monitor and it’s almost too big. It’s also and ips UltrAgear. Thinking of upgrading because it kills my eyes and almost creates instant double vision. How is it playing on a much larger monitor?
Everyone says things like "too big" before they experience it. The number of new posts titled like "I can't believe what I've been missing out on" in oled gaming sub is infinite.
When you have a small to medium sized TV on your desk, you can't see the wall behind it without tilting your head back or to either side. The immersion goes sky high when gaming.
My wife played the Sims at my desk for 15 minutes before I bumped her back to her computer and she was completely over her small 34 inch ultrawide and wanted back on my LG CX48. She now has a LG 42in C2 on her desk.
As far as IPS gaming vs OLED gaming that's just lol. You'll never want to ips game again. The oled colors are gorgeous and the pixels are literally off for blacks, giving you true darkness.
Indeed. I find 27" the sweet spot for that distance. I can see the entire screen without having to look around the border of the screen.
Edit: even with my 27" it's still just beyond arm's length for me (I cannot touch it from where I am sitting unless I lean forward).
That desk is most likely 24" deep which IMO is too narrow. However, the TV is best mounted on an arm or directly to the wall. This TV has a good 4-5 inches behind it. It wouldn't look as bad with it mounted.
I have a 42" on an arm on my 30" depth desk with a 27" secondary and it's the perfect setup. That extra 6" of depth makes a lot of difference 😏.
48" would be okay if it's a single monitor, I don't know how I'll feel with a 48 + 27 setup.
I am pretty sure I am not exaggerating when I say it’s the ultimate and the best monitor/tv in the world. This is one of the LG C series tv. Anywhere from CX-C3 but my guess is CX, because from C1 onwards the stand has been shortened. 🔥
I found a good deal on a 48" LG C2 OLED and tried to use it as my PC monitor. The quality was amazing but it was just too big. It hurt my eyes and my head and just went back to my 38" ultrawide.
thats an LG oled
Not sure if its the C1 or what it is. but its an LG TV basically. i recognize the stand.
it is great as pc monitor too!
but be very careful with burnin.
i'd use it only for video gaming, not office work, because of all the horizontal lines (i know linus from ltt tried using one and he had burn in from using office programs, windows task bar etc)
LG C1 Oled. Have one of those in 55“ here as my TV.
Best bang for the buck TV you can buy with amazing picture quality. It’s the 2021 version and now replaced by the C2 and C3 from 2022 and 2023 respectively.
I have the 55” model or model within this family of TVs. I see others have already posted the possible models so won’t bother. I recommend it for playing games on, but less so for productivity. But, each to their own. I have my PC connected to a dual monitor setup for work, then switch to my CX for gaming on the sofa.
It is amazing how from a phone with an AMOLED screen I immediately noticed at first glance that screen with a better contrast, different from how I'm used to seeing them, how did I guess it was an OLED?
It’s an LG C1. I have the 55” version in my living room. I’d also recommend the Sony Bravia a90k for this as well. It has a 42” version that I use and prefer to this. But really you can’t go wrong with the LG C2/3 either
Everyone saying LG oled, I think that’s the wrong remote for oleds. I have that remote for my old lg lcd but my oleds have the newer remote. Top edge/corner does look very thin like the oled models though

I made a video about this. Pretty cool, especially for gaming. C1 onward has hdmi 2.1 and supports g-sync. The smallest the C1 came in was 48”. The C2 came in a 42” model.
Both LG and Samsung now have proper oled monitors in ultrawide sizes. lG has a 45” curved. Samsung has a 49” curved and recently came out with a 50”+ version.
I like the Samsungs better because the curve is less curvy and they use their qd-oled tech.
This is imo the pinacle of Monitors, LG C1. Sold my G9 49" for the 48" version and I didn’t regret my choice even one second. Same horizontal FoV achievable in games, but muuuuch wider vertical FoV, removing the claustrophobic effect I endured with 32:9.
Looks like its a TV... would say made by LG going off the remote control there
An LG C1 is my guess. Great unit.
That, my friend is an [LG C1 OLED](https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/c1-oled) TV. The predecessor to the widely popular C2/C3 series'.
Yup, this is the answer. I have the 55” in my living room
Same! I really hope you aren't living in my walls sharing my living room
[LG CX](https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/1540272/lg-oled55cx6la-zwart/specificaties/) I have it. It's fantastic.
Is C2 and C3 better than C1?
I'm a bit too broke to answer that. Haven't seen any in person I just guide others to a treasure I cannot possess...
The biggest benefit of c2 vs c1 is that it comes in 42" which is closer to something considered ok for a monitor. The minimum for c1 is 48"
42” is too small, 48” all the way
Haha each to their own
Very incremental improvements.
It's a C1+1 or +2 so probably? Ill show myself the doorxD
Ba-dum-tsssss

C1 is virtually a CX C2 had some improvements around brightness C3 is better so technically yes c2 and c3 I'd better than c1
They are newer, so you would guess they are improved versions 🤷🏻
Yes, in the same way the iPhone 14 and 15 are better than the iPhone 13
Horizon games really benefits OLED. So many twinkly lights and lush colors. Everything pops, more so the dungeons on OLED.
Damn. Sounds cool! Wish I could afford one before Forbidden West releases on PC...
It's like viewing the 3D effect with 3D glasses without it screwing your vision. It really comes to life.
I have the same one in my setup. Boy, I never imagined using a 55" for work would be so damn good.

I got it right before Oled monitors went main stream. Regret it.
I’d say it’s Frank.
I don't know, looks more like a Henry to me.
Very possibly, yea.

Monitor mcmonitor face
I thought it might be an LG C2 or C3, but the stand looks a bit off?
It's a C1, that's why the stand is long. LG shortened it down for the newer models.
its the 48in c2
If they're sitting that close then it's the LG NeckBreaker
Greg
LG C (1?) OLED TV
The stand looks like a cx.
It's mad how just seeing a game title screen looking so cool makes me want to start playing it again.
Isn't the 48 too large to sit at a table with?
i think even 32" are too large for this short distance.
Indeed. I find 27" the sweet spot for that distance. I can see the entire screen without having to look around the border of the screen. Edit: even with my 27" it's still just beyond arm's length for me (I cannot touch it from where I am sitting unless I lean forward).

48” this close is insane, I got a 34” ultrawide and its perfect for a 70cm deep desk on a monitor arm. 27” is tiny to mw now
Nope. The issue is the support, that needs a whole table to sit.
I am pretty sure I am not exaggerating when I say it’s the ultimate and the best monitor/tv in the world. This is one of the LG C series tv. Anywhere from CX-C3 but my guess is CX, because from C1 onwards the stand has been shortened. 🔥
Looks like a 43" monitor. LG, Dell, Viewsonic, and Samsung all make one.

Uhhh yea…. too damn big
Nope, but i know someone is about to have a good time

Looks like a “Steve” to me
Steve perhaps?
Sitting that close to that screen, playing a game would make me nauseous.

LG Club Just like my LG CX 48"
I know I can't wait for the new horizon game to hit PC.
it's "not good for your eyes"
Everyone saying LG oled, I think that’s the wrong remote for oleds. I have that remote for my old lg lcd but my oleds have the newer remote. Top edge/corner does look very thin like the oled models though
Horizon...
Called eye damage
Mmmm it really looks like a Jeff, but it can be a Bob too. Now what brand and model is it, I have no idea.
He's definitely a Jeff
I think I can see the label on the front, it’s called “Horizon”.
His name is Tom
