If mine steals something without me noticing (oven mitt, sock, etc.) she'll run it outside to play with it, then immediately come back inside to show me and make sure I know she has it, and make me chase her outside. Hardly a master criminal. Adorable.
Our last beagle did something like that. He’d steal a shoe then trot right up to you and stay there until you fully acknowledged him. Then he’d bolt off and want you to chase him. If you didn’t, he’d leave the shoe behind but keep an eye on it so he could grab it before you could.
Every beagle I’ve had also has a very distinctive trot they pull out when they have something they know they shouldn’t…. Like a “I’m so proud of myself” trot that just gives away that they have something
Yes! I can actually hear the sound of the trot. It's the sound of mischief. We liken it to the old Nokia "elves" ringtone. Tail up, something illicit in her mouth, trotting away on her toes at a very look-at-me clip.
Keep away is absolutely the beagles favourite game. Makes me wonder if they really were much use back in the day as hunting dogs or if they'd just spend the day yeeting the duck or whatever kill away from the hunter and playing chase.
Haha we visited my parents last year, and one of the dogs got my fiancé’s socks and immediately ran outside to show my dad his ill-gotten gains. We’re bringing extra socks this year.
I always thought one of mine only did the obvious stealing to initiate play. Then I discovered the socks she ran around with were the tip of the iceberg. I was vacuuming one day and found my little kleptomaniac's hidden stash. 8 socks, a can opener, 2 flashlights, 9 pieces of junk mail, a belt, and 4 pairs of underwear. And she looked at me all mad, like Mommy why are taking my stuff.
My sister's Corgi had something like that. She called it the "bank". Once the dog figured out that he could get a little treat to release a piece of junk from his jaws, he kept a stack of socks, trash, etc. for whenever he wanted a snack.
They really are smarter than we give them credit for! We used to say will you drop it for a cookie? Then realized the cookie stash was disappearing quickly.
My old guy who was never a sock stealer would drop a sock at my feet and give me the Mommy where's my cookie look. And you know he got one, sometimes 2 for being so cute.
Yes… they bring you things they’re not supposed to have, for two reasons. 1- to flaunt it and try to get you to chase them. 2- to try to trade it for a treat because they’re being so good. Either way, the beagle wins.
Mine will bring me something (a toy, a shoe, anything she can find find near the door) when we come home. She gets so excited and always greets us with something.
Yeah, mine will bring me things he’s not supposed to have. He likes raiding my laundry basket and dragging my t shirts, socks and underwear all over the house
Both of my beagle boys greet me each day at the door with a toy in their mouth, after I get inside that’s when the havoc begins. They really are little thieves. 🥰
Mine has an affinity for paper towels and oven mitts on the edge of the kitchen counter. We always know when it happens because you hear the Scooby Doo run on the slick floor🤣
As far as I know my beagle is specially calm so most of the comments I've read are not my experience at all. If he finds something he wants (food) he will come next to me, and bring me to the object crying looking for approval. If bored, he will start bringing me toys and pile them up. Also, he kinda knows how to trade. Lets say im eating something on the sofa, if unattended, he will pick up bones or those weird pig ears treats and bring them to me in exchange for food.
Kinda funny. I love him so much
Why is this post caption on every single animal sub right now? ("Do they just...bring you stuff?") Am I missing something? Is this the new karma farmer caption for the moment?
He’s so beautiful!! Reminds me of my beagle when he was a baby😊😊
Also yes they bring you stuff if they need your help with it or want to play with you!!!
Pretty much anytime you have to ask “do beagles. . . .?” The answer is yes. For better or worse, the answer is yes. 😂 Mine will steal something and then bring it to me like she’s being this big help and has “found” the missing item just so she can get treats. And yes, she gets her reward.
Never. They take stuff though
Little thieves. When my beagle feels ignored, she goes to the bookcase and takes a hostage.
Lol or in my doxie’s case…attempt to eat stuff! Lol

I'm reading these out to my other half in bed because our daisy do , does all these things too 😆
You just described it perfectly
This is so funny! My girl literally stomps to get your attention lol. It's like a stomp trot. It's adorable and usually gets her whatever she wants
Ohhh yes that distinctive prancing gallop. Whenever I hear it my blood runs cold. 😂
Keep away is absolutely the beagles favourite game. Makes me wonder if they really were much use back in the day as hunting dogs or if they'd just spend the day yeeting the duck or whatever kill away from the hunter and playing chase.
Omg I cackled at this! 😆
Omg this. 🤣
Haha we visited my parents last year, and one of the dogs got my fiancé’s socks and immediately ran outside to show my dad his ill-gotten gains. We’re bringing extra socks this year.
My in-laws’s beagle does the same! She did it with my bra once. Very embarrassing but hysterical.

Also your beagle might be one of the cutest I’ve ever seen. Don’t tell mine I said that.
Mine knows how to trade as well, lol
They do but for themselves, master thieves for a reason. Their innocent look can be deceiving.
They’ll bring you other people’s stuff
BOOP! They bring you happiness and cuddles!
Sure - my underwear out of the hamper, a tissue from the bathroom trash, a cat food tin from the recycling...
This is a handsome beagle (:
Omg that mini blep. 😍
Ah yes yes ! If mine could take the fridge and hide it in the closet, she would do so!
They wanna play.
Excited to see you. BUT YOU CANT HAVE IT! Only look. Maybe tug o war.
I have to check my beag’s crate for socks and other articles of clothing. He also likes shredding junk mail so we do that every couple days or so.
Mine will bring me something (a toy, a shoe, anything she can find find near the door) when we come home. She gets so excited and always greets us with something.
Lost your underwear? Look in her crate!
They are definitely little thieves. my socks are always going missing…I find them in his crate or in the backyard, cleverly hidden in plain sight
Attention please, owner :-)

Yes! Mine brought me a dead mouse. Horrifying but he thought it was a great present.

They bring you ❤️
They bring love and destruction in the beginning and then just love :)
Adorable beagle.
Ours would only bring us dead squirrels from time to time.
I bring him/her a boop 🥓🧀🍕
Socks and scrunchies, sometimes, yes.
Ive been trying to teach my dog how to play fetch but he enjoys playing chase much more
Whats it name
YES! Any little treasure he finds to play with he will bring to me to also play with
They bring you chewed up stuff
Mine takes a sock

Mine greets us with our slippers and he Carries them around. Never eats them. Only carries
When I come home from work my dog will bring his toys to me. And when he was a puppy he use to line up my shoes. I don’t know if that helps at all lol
Empty supper bowls?
He’s so beautiful!! Reminds me of my beagle when he was a baby😊😊 Also yes they bring you stuff if they need your help with it or want to play with you!!!
Happiness!
All the time, I have nothing left in my house my beagle has chewed it all
If u train them.
You like chewed socks? Just wait.
It’s an important job. You’re supposed to know how that!
What a cutie!

Sometimes. Mine live to play fetch before. But now he only brings his bell toy for me to refill treats.
Some do, Some don't, Some will, Some won't.
Not so much, but they run off! I love me a Beagle!!!!
Your pup is beautiful!
❤️🎾
ADORABLE 🥰
I grew up in a house full of them. Master manipulators
Non stop barking.
Idk but they’re hella vocal, a neighbor had one when I was a kid, they lived at the other end of the block and we could hear her howling every day
