my beagles entire head was black when we got her and now it’s brown, i love it sm. what i wasn’t expecting though was for her to also be getting a brown stripe along her back. i wanted the black to stay ;( but yes they change a lot in those first 6 months to a year!! it’s crazy to see it looking back on pictures of then.

Beagles, especially tricolors, lighten a LOT. It's a good way of aging them, based upon how much black they have. Once he gets around 6 or 7, that brown is going to start turning to white. Don't be surprised to see that little white around his nose to extend up past his eyes.

My 16 year old has a totally white face now; it's so weird when I see old photos of him. I forgot how he used to be mostly brown!

Mine is the same. Nearly his entire back was black as a pup, like yours, and now at nearly 3, his back is basically brown with a black ‘shadow’.

When we got our pup her whole head was black. Now her whole head is brown.

Same, my girl was dark brown with dark brown ears now they’re light brown and her nose is getting whiter

I learned that beagles colors change so much, that beagle breeders are allowed to change their color on the puppies registration up to three times before finalizing it! Interesting stuff!!

100% normal. My beagle boy was basically black and white until his brown started coming in. Then he looked like he had eyeliner cause he was still very black around his eyes
