I hate people saying it breaks the game. it adds additional content to the game, and some **unofficial** mods are not compatible with the new version. It's not Beat Games' fault. They aren't responsible to keep their codebase the same to make sure third party mods stay compatible.

A New BMBF version will most likely need to release as the game has a very high chance of updating its version of Unity.
It shouldn't take very long this time around tho.

3) delete updated beat saber folder
4) copy your backup back into your games folder
