I wear it everyday! It’s the best way to protect your skin and prevent premature aging. Editing to add: I wear the color science sunforgettable total protection SPF 50. It’s more pricey but I love the coverage, the consistency and that it protects against blue light and pollution as well as UVA/UVB.

buffooonerie

Same but I didnt used to because I didn't like the white cast. After getting the biore UV aqua rich, it doesn't feel heavy or look like im wearing anything so it makes no difference if I wear it every or not, even wore it to sleep on accident lol

kristine-di

The Biore UV aqua rich is soo good. The only one that my acne prone skin tolerates. Even if it has fragrance

ancarroll94

Hmmm I’ve never noticed a white cast with mine. I have the tinted version, so it almost acts like a light foundation layer. I’ve got melasma, so I am limited to sunscreens that protect from blue light, and colorscience is one of the few I’ve found that has that!

JenniferJuniper6

My mother died from Melanoma. I don’t fuck around. Bring back parasols, I say.

Radiant_Cheesecake81

I'm so sorry ❤️ Where I live in Australia, it's not uncommon to see East Asian women using a proper reflective sun umbrella, I have one and use it too and I'm gradually seeing it become more popular which is awesome, I'm all for making decent sun protection more of a everyday thing for everyone.

silvers0ul88

do you have any recommendations for umbrellas? im from SEA and we use all sorts of sun protection back home, but whenever i used umbrellas during sunny days here i get weird looks lol

Radiant_Cheesecake81

https://www.solbari.com.au/collections/solbari-upf50-umbrellas I found mine in an op shop so it's a rando brand but I have a Solbari hat and it's really well made

silvers0ul88

thank you! i might look into getting gloves/arm and hand protection for driving too

GlutenFreeParfait

I just ordered a parasol (UV umbrella) that arrives tomorrow. I use them - people may look for a moment but you get used to it.

TelephoneTag2123

Sorry for your loss and I fuckihg love parasols.

bnny_ears

>Bring back parasols, I say. And big hats!

28404736

Parasols/UV umbrellas are extremely popular amongst women in Japan. I’m keen to get one myself! PS- very very sorry for your loss.

mythrowaway10019

Yes! We need parasol support posts! I'll post mine eventually on a spring day with cherry blossoms around

alpha_rat_fight_

I have SPF in my daily moisturizer and I layer a 50SPF cc cream on top of it. My family is half a bunch of gingers and the other half a bunch of Dutchmen. My skin burns like kindling.

Superb_Application83

I get it. Also being ginger, I burnt while indoors.

Ok-Comment5616

Very. Watching my mum died of skin cancer was the worst day of my life.

TheMightyYule

Every day. But I never reapply unless I’m doing outdoor activities.

TelevisionNo396

Same... There's an actual study that was recently done that showed you don't need to reapply unless you're being active or sweating profusely

stavthedonkey

I wear it every day; even if I'm in the house, I'll put it on in the AM. if Im outside, I definitely reapply every 2hrs, wear a hat, stay in the shade as much as possible etc

angryturtleboat

I only use it if I'm exposed to sun.

Loaf_Butt

On normal days I don’t apply any. I live in the north, and work from home completely out of the sun. I don’t bother for quick errands or a 20min dog walk. However in the summer I’m diligent. Factor 50 facial sunscreen and as well as 50+ on any skin open to the sun on days I go outside, and I reapply as often as I can. I’m on a beach holiday right now and I reapply at the very least every hour. I’m the only one in my group that hasn’t burnt at all lol.

Remarkable-Low-643

I can't stand the sun so I avoid it as much as I can anyway. I do my gardening very early in the morning or near dusk so little exposure to strong sunlight. If I must step out for more than 15 mins, I put on sunscreen. Same on days I am not working from home. I generally can't stand the greasiness of most sunscreens. The mattifying ones on the other hand peel. I have only been religious with sunscreen when I am on holiday because I am out most times.

Planters-Peanuts-20

Me too! I avoid it as well. There’s an ingredient that burns my face, I think it cinna-something. 69F, and I have great skin.

justmeraw

I have a 98% compliance rate overall.

Curious-Duck

I apply it when I am outside in direct sun for more than half an hour. Any other time, I don’t bother. My entire family has never used sunscreen and we don’t have any instances of any skin cancers or even benign moles, etc. I haven’t figured it out yet, but all sunscreens I’ve tried have made my skin turn to shit within one day of use. The texture changes, I break out, I grease up, and I sweat like crazy because it feels terrible, like cling wrap on my skin. And yes, I’ve used the more expensive things like la Roche etc, it all sucks for me. I wear a regular Nivea one if I have to, if I’m out for long. I’ll be downvoted anyways, it always happens when I mention not being a sunscreen goddess. I don’t sit out in the sun, I don’t tan, and I am indoors all day. My family all looks young AF for their ages and none used sunscreen. It’s all relative xD

WholeImpact5351

This. Every sunscreen I've used flares up my eczema.

MiniChonk

Asian sunscreens work best. You can get sun sticks, not creams, that glide over your face and feel really silky. Western sunscreens suck.

WholeImpact5351

Could you please recommend me any of the brand for mineral sunscreens? Thank you !!

Economy-Savings-1551

Try eucerin or targets brand!

sailbag36

Eye balls burn

WholeImpact5351

Thank you will do :)

[deleted]

Dr Dray on IG and TT is a board certified dermatologist and she has entire videos of the different sunscreens for different skin types/issues even ones that don’t burn your eyes. She seriously has covered it all. She reviews Korean skincare as well which I love. She also believes you can get great skincare products from drugstores.

Curious-Duck

I am very interested in the Korean options, I may give one a try if I can get a hold of it in Europe. Thank you!

Ginger_Libra

Doesn’t burn the eyes you say? What sorcery is that?

eharder47

I have something similar, I don’t break out, but the skin around my eyes burns like crazy! I have to use an SPF 15 everyday moisturizer, then makeup, then I lightly mist with higher SPF spray sunscreen. It’s gotten me through some tropical vacations.

Curious-Duck

Oh gosh, the BURN! I didn’t even mention that, but as someone who sweats a lot from their face that’s one of the worst parts… I just put up with it when we are somewhere hot xD

feelingprettypeachy

The only one that doesn’t burn for me is the La Rochey Posey moisturizer!

IndependentFar3953

Of course, a pricier brand lol sometimes we have to pay more for what we know works.

feelingprettypeachy

It’s more expensive but it’s not like, super goop prices! I think I paid 15$?

eharder47

Thanks for the rec- I’ll have to check it out!

PugssandHugss

Which specific moisturizer do you use from LRP? Can you tell me the name

feelingprettypeachy

Yes! I’m sorry I didn’t include it. It’s the double repair moisturizer with SPF 30. I want to try their higher SPFs but I started with this one. So far no complaints, no white cast, no piling, no eye burning. Target link: https://www.target.com/p/la-roche-posay-face-moisturizer-sunscreen-toleriane-with-ceramide-and-niacinamide-spf-30-3-38-fl-oz/-/A-51195659

PugssandHugss

Thank you so much! I just got their cleanser and love it, was thinking about getting their moisturizer next after I run out of the one i have

feelingprettypeachy

I hope you like it! I have dry skin and I use this in the mornings and like I said, it works well for me but I do use something more heavy duty moisturizing at night

PugssandHugss

What do you use at night?

IndependentFar3953

Which spf spray do you use for your face? I'm looking for one!

eharder47

Honestly, the most generic cheap one I can find 😂. I just do a light coat and reapply every 30 min or so since it’s so quick and easy. The lighter it is, the less likely it will run into my eyes. I put a little more around my hair line though.

luuucidity

They mineral spf, it should burn your eyes at all

iceunelle

I can only use 1 or 2 specific brands of mineral sunscreen around my eyes. Everything else and all chemical sunscreens burn the hell out of my eyes. Anything with fragrance burns my eyes. Any sunscreen with a tint ends of burning my eyes. Even Asian and European sunscreens burn my eyes. My eyes are crazy sensitive and rule out most sunscreens for me.

Logical_Challenge540

Chemical sunscreen burns for me as well, unless I use SPF foundation, tinted one, or powder. I now use Paula's Choice tinted. Previously used Physician's Formula SPF powder (they have translucent). Now also got some SPF powder that you pour to hand and cover all your body.

Curious-Duck

I was considering an spf powder of some sort, because I remembered using a mineral makeup before with spf 30 and that didn’t seem to do as much damage to my skin as usual sunscreens. Thanks for the comment, I will look into it again. I don’t like coverage though, so it might be tough to find a translucent one that doesn’t leave a cast of some sort

Bamb00Pill0w

[Supergoop](https://supergoop.com/products/mineral-setting-powder?variant=32056031051874) has one!

Timcanpy

I used to be in this boat! Supergoop unseen sunscreen is the only sunscreen that hasn't broken out my skin or caused any other issues.

Bright-Row-3565

Same!!!

lucky_719

Yep this is where I'm at.

FreyaDay

I use it every day. Even if I have no energy and I’m not going outside, sunscreen is only thing that is mandatory to me.

[deleted]

I have been wearing SPF almost every day on my face and neck since I was 15 (1993!) I read in a glossy magazine about UVA and aging. I remember girls in my class laughing at me for it and kept pointing out I live in a cold and rarely sunny country. Bumping into any of them rarely happens but has been a (quietly) smug moment for me for decades when it does. I’ve been using it on my hands when I remember for a decade or so. I like to get sun on some of my skin for vitamin D when the sun comes out!

enterpaz

Very rigid!

naturalconfectionary

I honestly don’t know anyone slapping sunscreen on their body as a daily occurrence. My moisturiser has an spf for my face, I’ll wear a hat and sunglasses if I’m out on a walk or at the park with my kid. If it’s likely to be hot I’ll wear sunscreen on my arms and chest then, or at the beach.

jerseygrl__

Every day! Even if I sit in my living room all day and read. If we’re at the beach or outside doing yard work or walking the dog, I reapply and usually add a heavier sunscreen.

CommercialFish4093

I do it every day but I love how it makes my skin look and feel so that's cool, in addition to protection. 🙂

Parking_Low248

Pretty lax compared to some. I put actual sunscreen on most mornings spring-fall but I don't bother in the winter, except what is already in my makeup. I generally reapply if I'm going to be out for a while for an outdoor activity like a hike or in the garden, unless it's after about 5pm or so and then i don't bother. I'm getting better about hats. This summer I'm going to try to wear cool, light long sleeves to help me out when I fall short. And going to keep some kind of spray or powder in the car/my bag to make it more likely that I'll reapply.

PuffyPoptart

Daily. I apply it to my face, neck, chest, forearms, and hands since they get a lot of sun exposure while driving.

eternityfading

i use sunscreen everyday! but don’t reapply because i haven’t found a sun stick that suits my skin:/

Moon_endloneliness

Oh, I'm pretty strict with sun protection. I slap on sunscreen religiously, rain or shine. Can't risk those UV rays sneaking up on me, you know? Plus, gotta keep that skin looking fresh after facials. But yeah, if it's cloudy or just a quick trip outside, I might skip the sunscreen, but you bet I'll still rock a hat.

OneShelter4

I only apply it on vacation. I can’t find a daily one that I like…. Help 🫣

QtK_Dash

I wear it even if I don’t leave my house

Powerful_Morning7566

Hardly ever unless I know I’ll be outside an extended period of time - more than 20+ minutes

Brave-Confection8075

Very. My mom had skin cancer on the top of her hands. I wear sunscreen on my face daily and only reapply if outdoors a lot. I keep a sunscreen stick in my handbag for my hands. I also wear hats outside.

Moniqu_A

I used to believe the 2 hour rule so I wouldn't bother applying in the morning up until 1 month ago. When I would be 1hour outside or More I would reapply every 1h and a half..and stil...burn. They used to tell us we were covered inside: false. They then told us chemical was bad, but cancer is worse no... so i recently realized I was in the wrong but it made no sens for me to put sunscreen in the am if it wouldn't last or to put up with the burden/failure of not reapplying. I learned that it doesn't even loose 50% effiency over 8h so. Now i'm my 30 in some months. I feel kinda dumb.i grew up in the orange tanning sking era but was putting 50fps while my friends were putring 4 or 15 fps oil on to burn up and start their summer tan. I educated myself, learn by reading research and was really disapointed with myself. Luckily I didn't go outside much. I now check the uv index and bought many different korean sunscreen or europeen one. Back then sunscreen sucked and made my sensitive skin burn even with the expensive sensitive one. Why would I go throught that trouble if it didn't last. I see the sun damage on my family member and have close skin cancer history. I glady put sunglasses at the hint of sunlight when going outside. I got some caps and riciulous sun hats. I will be.

gypsynine

I wear SPF all the time, even if it’s overcast. I do live in Australia and I’m an esthetician so they’re definitely factors too. But the way I started thinking about it was indoor plants - they still photosynthesise and some even burn/die in direct indoor sunlight. If my houseplants are getting all their UV then my skin is probably exposed too. It can be annoying to reapply all the time and I admit I have days where I’m not on top of it but changing to non-greasy SPF’s (and not getting it in my mouth all the time lmao) helped my motivation a lot and my skin thanks me for it!

ElegantRedditSmells

I wasn’t too concerned growing up, now into my 30s I will wear sunscreen if I am knowingly going to be exposed otherwise, I am a huge fan of flannel over shirt in the cooler months and linen or denim long sleeve for the better half of the year.

Little_Treacle241

I wear spf every day, I reapply in summer if I’m outside :)

ZookeepergameNew3800

I apply sunscreen every day. Biore UV works fantastic for me. And if I am in the sun I only wear tinted sunscreen , no powder, so I can reapply later. I also have mineral face powder sunscreen.

berrywaffl

I apply every time when the sun’s out, I don’t apply when it’s rainy or completely cloudy/UV is 0. However I don’t spend a lot of time outside - 15 mins max going commuting from home to the subway station.

mkhanamz

I always forget to reapply😑

PowerfulSpecialist52

I used to be like “haha my people are from deserts and islands I don’t need sunscreen”, then my dad died, while it wasn’t the melanoma that got him (it was another form of cancer he had with it), it made me realize this ain’t a joke. I don’t wear every day, but if I know I’m going outside on a sunny day for longer than an hour I’ll apply some

The_AmyrlinSeat

I do not own sunscreen.

wonderlash

Used it daily without fail for 12 years. I'm now going to stop using it in the winter as I live in the UK and we don't see the sun for about 8 months out of the year. I need all the vitamin d I can get

JustChabli

Never ever use it. I love a tan body and wear a hat to protect my face

Pretend_Chemist_7731

Never, it causes cancer

cem5581

I never use sun screen. That stuff can be toxic and most people don’t even care or care to know. Go ahead and down vote me 🤣 I don’t care

itwonteverbereal

Unfortunately not a lot. I regret it. When I smile I can see the effects around my eyes

CapiCat

I used to only use it when out between the hours of 10:30-2:30. I moved to a place where the sun is really strong so I use it everyday! I started getting freckles like crazy and knew my skin couldn’t handle the daily sun here. I use mineral so I have protection throughout the day. If I have to go out in the middle of the day or I am in a situation where I am outside all day, I use a chemical spf spray to reapply.

Logical_Challenge540

Depends on how lazy I feel on workdays. Considering that I leave home before sunrise, and go through outside less than a minute from office to car, then from car to home; or work without leaving home (hybrid work), I think it isn't too bad. I grab my tinted spf or spf powder/makeup if I go for longer time outside.

jinxboooo

Minimum SPF 50 every day. Even if I do not leave the house. 100 if on a plane. Because I am usually too lazy to reapply, I have now bought one of those Korean solid SPF sticks to force myself to reapply at least that over Make-Up.

la_selena

Im in a sunny place. Im so anal with it

nataliegrove

I don’t use sunscreen unless I am at a pool or beach but I am of Mediterranean descent in a cooler climate.

Sophia1105

I’m terrible about it.

MonkeyPepper28

I wear it everyday, in the morning at least. If I’m outside and the UV index is above 3, I’m *usually* pretty good at putting on the sunscreen stick on my face

electric29

Every single day even if I don't think I will be outside at all.

Outside_Ad_9562

Very. Now i am in my late 40s. I get compliments on my skin all the time and look a good 10-15 younget than my peers. I also gave up smoking earliest. The 2 that never did look 10 years older than everyone else. You really start to notice it in your mid 30s.

Radiant_Cheesecake81

I've been wearing SPF50+ every day since 1992. I'm olive skinned and don't burn, just tan really easily so I don't feel like I need it the way some people do, but I asked my very young looking grandma her secret when I was 12 and she handed me a bottle of her magic youth potion. She looked great, so I took her advice and now that I'm 45 I'm incredibly grateful, it's definitely paid off.

IOnlySpeakTheTruth87

I wear it daily but I only reapply if I’m not wearing makeup. I don’t see how I could reapply with makeup on

Gullible_Concept_428

Nearly every day for the past 35 years. No one is perfect, plus I don’t go outside every day.

Exotic-Purple2198

I’m pretty serious about sun protection. I reapply often and I also wear a wide brimmed hat if I’m laying out or in direct sunlight to further protect my face.

love2Bsingle

I use 35 spf on my face every day. When I work outside I use 70 spf. Last summer I built a gazebo with my friends in the heat of summer in south Arkansas and I wore a bandana around my face, a hat, and sunglasses. I put sunblock on my ears

[deleted]

I apply it if the index is above 4. I do forget sometimes, but I try not to! I don't apply every 2 hours. Just one and done. Very low risk of skin cancer given my complexion. I won't lie, I mostly use it for vanity reasons.

ArtofAset

I use sunscreen before going out when it’s sunny but I need to start wearing it daily..

shiveringsongs

I have always been good about wearing sun screen when expecting prolonged exposure to the sun. For my fair skin, "prolonged exposure" is about 15 minutes. Basically if I'm not going straight between buildings and vehicles, I'm wearing sunscreen. Lately I've started using AHA + BHA exfoliants on my face so I got a day cream with SPF and I wear a hat now too.

justintime107

Every morning. I work from home though and don’t go outside a lot. If I’m going to the beach though or on vacation, I take it more seriously. If I’m going to be outside all day, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen. I don’t go too crazy honestly. I still think it’s healthy to get some sun.

SalsaSnob92

The sun clears up my acne so fast, so it’s a constant back and forth 😫 do I want to be safe? Or do I want clear skin? I use a face moisturizer with SPF but not on the rest of my body.

Far_Bar_2029

Everyday! Except i don’t reapply

str4wberryphobic

i wear face moisturizer with spf everyday and night but i don’t use sunscreen on my body

shomeyospeedo

I wear sunscreen every day the UV index is above 2. On days it's below 2, I don't bother at all. During my work week, I apply and never reapply because I work swings, and the UV index drops about 3 hours after I leave my house for work. On weekends, I will reapply twice (three is a stretch) if I'm out in the sun a lot. On heavy sun days I reapply as often as needed, and I also take healio care pills. These are days when I go on half day long mountain biking trips, go to the pool, beach, etc.

tasteofperfection

Very. I just bought a UV umbrella for my walks.

magneticca

Weekends & on vacation only..when I’m outdoors. I spend most of the day indoors, and on my daily drive, my hair is usually parted so it covers my face on the driver side. Windows are tinted.

julet1815

I just started but I’m planning to be good about it. I got some good quality facial sunscreens from Innisfree and beauty of Joseon and I’ve started washing my face in the morning, moisturizing, and putting sunscreen on top. I’m hoping to make it a habit.

lovable_cube

A little more than moderate? It’s every day but I only reapply if I’m outside all day and it’s sunny. Not every 2 hours either, maybe every 4. I don’t wear hats unless I’m literally at the pool bc they always bump my glasses and it’s super annoying.

Famous-Composer3112

I'm nearly 65, so I use it every day. I haven't gotten skin cancer (thank God) but I get age spots if I don't use it.

Noof91

Every morning but I don't reapply unless I'm spending the day at the beach or outdoor

throwitallaway_88800

I apply SuperGoop SPF every morning. Other than that I try to stay out of the sun if I can help it.

luzaerys

I apply religiously. I’m very pale and can get a sunburn just taking the trash out, so I have to.

twisted_memor3

I wear it everyday & also apply to my neck. 3 fingers length worth.

[deleted]

Everyday once a day minimum unless: I work all day. My office has no windows and I am gone from dark to dark during the day. Once a day if I don't plan on being out much. Right before walks or going out. My house is UV tinted on all the windows so I won't apply until I have to leave/start getting ready.

meggysparkles

The word on the street is when the UV is 3 or above... in Perth, Western Australia - it is 3 or above all year round.

United-Telephone-247

I’m in Portland. That’s in Oregon. I never put on sunscreen unless I’m vacationing.

thatsmy_0pinion

Coming from Australia, sun protection is so important! I wear it every single day

siders6891

As someone who lives in Australia: I slip, slap, slop every single day. Even in winter when it’s overcast.

sailbag36

I rarely wear it. I hate the feel and when I can find an spf I life, I sweat like a pig it sweats right off and reapplication is really hard. I’m ok with aging bc of sun exposure.

No-Efficiency4458

I check the UV index every morning on my weather app. If it’s going to be over 2 I use it

Alaska1111

Im pretty bad at it. I hate the feeling and texture of it on my skin. I feel like it makes me even more pale than i am and it tends to flake. I try my best to apply it when im going outside

Stoplookinatmeswaan

No matter what. I’ve got to get better at reapplying.

lil1thatcould

Everyday. I have adhd and I wear tinted spf, that way I can’t forget it. I also use a moisturizer with spf in case I didn’t put on enough tinted spf. I also reapply at lunch time and around 5pm. I typically have long sleeves and pants on, I don’t have to worry about it for my body. Really just face, hands, neck and chest. My great uncle died from skin cancer. My dad, his dad (great uncle identical twin), and my mom’s mom have had skin cancer. Never skip, it’s not worth it.

StormSims

I'm horribly lazy with it - I only wear sunscreen if I'm going out for a walk or if I'll be working outdoors for hours. I need to get into a routine of wearing face cream and sunscreen when I wake up, because right now all I do is wash my face and put on night creams at night, lol.

Salsieann

I hate putting sunscreen on so instead use a very lightweight sunscreen jacket that has sleeves that cover my hands and a hood with a long brimmed visor. Zips up to cover the lower part of my face if it comes to that. It’s so lightweight that I can wear it in the summer here in Florida. Claims to be SPF 50. Seems to work very well even for long days kayaking.

Kylipso

Very. I put on sunscreen & long sleeved UPF clothing, hats & face covers. I am not white, I am pink/translucent. Burn so easily. Mom had melanoma, thankfully caught early. I now see my dermatologist yearly for mole checks since late 20's. I know I overdo it, but I don't care. Sun radiation is much more intense due to elevation where I live

Regular_Care_1515

I wear sunscreen everyday but where I put it depends on what I’m wearing and the weather. I put sunscreen on my face, neck, and back of my hands every day, no matter what. I live in a sunny climate so I usually put sunscreen on my arms and chest, and if I’m wearing shorts on my legs and top of feet. But if it’s cloudy that day or I won’t be in the sun for long, I’ll just stick to face, neck, and hands.

CallMeAl_

Only when I’m going outside for an extended period of time with a tank top or less. Otherwise clothes to cover up. A hat. Everything makes my skin break out so I don’t put more things on than necessary.

MrsAshleyStark

Not very at all. Don’t own any for my bod and never have. I barely get tanned in my city, even if I sit naked in the sun.

Putasonder

Every. Single. Day. And a hat. And sleeves. I live at altitude.

Whis65

I wear it on my face, neck, chest, wear long sleeves most days, and always a broad rimmed hat. My skin on my chest has massive premature aging. I have had 3 skin cancers diagnosed on my face in one year. I can't get sun on my face if I can help it.

lladydisturbed

I wear tinted for some coverage and olay on my neck. I never wear it on my body unless I'm going to be walking around outside on a hot day, lake or vacationing sunny but even then i usually have on a big mens tshirt and shorts and dont put it on my body unless I'm swimming

elderpricetag

Very rigid. I have a sun allergy, and multiple people on both sides of my family have had skin cancer.

azulweber

i work nights so there’s a lot of days i don’t leave the house until it’s dark out. on those days i don’t bother. but otherwise i’m religious about it. i don’t always wear makeup or dress cute but you better believe i have sunscreen on. skin cancer sucks, it’s one of the best ways to prevent wrinkles, and it keeps my tattoos from aging as quickly.

iceunelle

I try to apply it at least once a day in the morning. I generally don't reapply throughout the day unless I'm going to be doing something outside for hours at a time. If I apply in the morning and do something outside in the evening, I'll either reapply or wash my face and then put new sunscreen on. I like to go for a walk in the evening and generally I just wait until it's late enough that the UV index is pretty low so it doesn't matter if I reapply or not.

leaping-lizards123

Whenever I go outside. Even more so in summer. Australian sun is nasty. My grandpa had skin grafts and chemo from melanoma on his ears and neck (he was a painter/interior decorator). I apply it more in the summer/ while swimming spf50

DruidicBlacksmith

I tend to be a home body and my bedroom/office has black out curtains. When I’m working from home I don’t put on spf. I’m autistic and I don’t like textures and I have sensitive skin so my spf can get pretty expensive. I tend to use spf once or twice a week, when going out with friends or when I take a nap in a sunspot like a cat. I should probably get used to applying it every day because my work from home status might change at any point but it’s really not in the budget right now.

HEY_McMuffin

I put it on my face daily and use makeup with SPF in it

Pap3r_Butt3rfly

Depends on the time of year and how my body is reacting honestly. I get a rash when I'm out in the sun early on. Not a sunburn, a legit rash. It itches and it's hot, but it's textured and bumpy-ish. However, if I don't get any form of sun exposure then it stays that way all year. During the summer If the uv index is especially high I put sunscreen on, or if I'm in the water, but after about may I stop being quite so religious with it and kinda ween myself off.

Back_to_Wonderland

On my days off I use a sunscreen primer every day. It’s SPF 30-35. When I work I don’t wear any since I work nights and am not out in the sun.

Nelyahin

I wear it every single day. Depending on what I’m doing and the weather determines how much and layering. I say this as a 54 year old woman who gets regular compliments on my skin, be diligent. Wear it. It’s the BEST anti-aging step you can do.

psycho_catwomen

I do the same. For my face it's ok, but I am more concerned about my hand

yogilawyer

Elta MD 40 SPF sunblock on my face, neck and hands everyday. If my body is exposed like poolside or playing tennis, I’ll put sunblock on my body as well.

HyrrokinAura

I put it on my face before makeup but never reapply (how would I do that over makeup?), the body spray I'm willing to reapply but I don't spend much time outside

jacksondreamz

I forget to wear it. I try to put it on when I walk but I am just not used to wearing it.

SephRose_nana

Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, and even sun umbrella for super sunny days. I don’t reapply sunscreen though, because I hate the thick texture lol.

xJadedQueenx

I keep it near the front door so that I always remember to slather some on before leaving the house.

Aveasi

Daily. I'm pale as sour cream and already have a history of 3a degree burns on my face. Not taking chances anymore

TelephoneTag2123

I’m a sunscreen glopper and then hats and long sleeves kind of basic B.

NuGGet441

I use it after shower in the face/neck as moisturizer. And I'm male

relibra

everyday, even if i’m indoors all day. but i don’t reapply because i hate the feeling, which is a cardinal sin in SPF l

amora_obscura

Every day

kyjmic

I only put it on if I know I’m going to be in direct sun for more than 15 min. I always put on my big sun hat if I go outside though and try to stay in the shade.

folklovermore_

I use a moisturiser with SPF 30 in the winter and then switch to a dedicated SPF (usually 30 or 50) in summer. I'll also use sunscreen on my body from April to September instead of body lotion, and keep a couple of small bottles (a face mist and a pump bottle of body sunscreen) in my bag for top ups when I'm out.

TelevisionNo396

I get discoloration easily...I use it every day

densyngendelussing

Late spring and summer I wear spf if I go outside for more than 20 minutes. The rest of the year I don't bother at all. I live in Scandinavia where we barely see the sun from October to May and the UV index is 0. I'm also inside working during the few daylight hours we get during that time. Spf would be a waste of product. I'm about to be 38 with no sun damage or wrinkles except for a few very fine lines under my eyes. I think I'm doing fine.

escapeshark

I'm from New Zealand if that tells you anything

rockmeNiallxh

Depending on the season and the country/city where i am, i check the UV index, and as long as it is around 4, i apply it everyday. My issue is with reapplication tho. They say to reapply every 2 hours, which tbh i never do, but i realized since i touch my face so often and blow my nose many times a day, even every 2h wouldnt be enough bc when yiu touch your face, you disrupt that peotective "film"

Kim_catiko

Apply it everyday on my face and neck.

aquay

i have oily acne-prone skin so i hate it. sometimes i wear it but usually when i have to be out in the sun, i just wear a hat. i don't care how dorky i look.

[deleted]

Ehh, very lazy actually, although I try to do better. I live in the north so there's barely any daylight for months during winter so it's not like there's any point in making it a daily routine to apply SPF all year round. But since it's not a habit for me I struggle remembering to use it during summer.

lizatomic

Australian here 👋 SPF50+ every day. Hat & sunglasses if I’m outside.

LateAd3986

I was slack until I discovered a sunscreen that wasn’t greasy, white, or stingy in the eyes. Now I use it religiously because I am not irritated by it all day.

my3altaccount

I work on the 35th floor of a high rise building with floor to ceiling windows, if I didn’t wear sunscreen I would get a sunburn every day.

bsubtilis

There are days with high UV yet cloudy, the safest is to look at your local daily UV forecast. I use sunscreen daily, except for e.g. days that start with a migraine as I go hide in a dark room all day. I also religiously take vitamin D and the like though, and I don't mind looking tan, wrinkled, nor freckled but I really don't like the chance of cancer and worse yet my skin hurts instantly if the UV is too strong despite me not being printing paper pale or similar.

SweetNSauerkraut

I am very rigid. I’m fair skinned, married to a pale ginger with a pale ginger son. We take sun care very seriously. I wear sunscreen on my face every day rain or shine as it’s just part of my skincare routine. I also slather it on my son. I think it’s easier to do it every day than to check the weather app and think about if it’s needed.

Alien1917

I use tret and recently forgot to apply sunscreen. I went outside just for 10 minutes in direct sun- I had itchy swollen cheeks for 4 days. Never again will I go outside without sunscreen/physical protection 💀

Downtown-Trip3501

I legit live like a vampire. Even when I go out in the sun with spf, I wear a hat and a mask and if I have a hoodie I wrap and tie that too. I always LOOK cold lol

Butterscotchumbrella

Pretty rigid. Father and aunt have had melanoma. I am fair skinned and have had atypical moles removed for biopsy. HOWEVER, I live farther north than I did in my childhood, and the UV Index is weaker than I'm used to - I have to intentionally spend time in the sun to make sure I am getting enough vitamin D. The supplements help, but not enough. My problem moles have actually been where I get very little sun exposure, which indicates that it could be more of a genetic disposition than a direct correlation of "I burnt my arm 15 times so now I have an abnormal spot there". That being said, I almost always put SPF on my face, neck, chest, and ears.

3veryTh1ng15W0r5eN0w

Not as rigid as I should be. I don’t wear it when I’m at home. I wear sunscreen when I go outside and if I’m going to be outside for longer than 2 hours,I reapply every 2 hours.

Hopeful-Horse8752

Every day even inside. I’m super pale and live in Hong Kong so I don’t take the chance.

yumvdukwb

Cloudy days can still have extremely high UV

baysidevsvalley

I am very rigid on this. I work from home and put on SPF 50 every single day. Before I go for a walk I make sure to do a second application. It's always reapplied before I go out even if the UV is not hight that day or I am going to be outside for only 15 - 20 minutes. I also add a hat on sunny days. Might be too much for some but I am 38 and my skin looks great so I will keep doing it.

tawandatoyou

I apply sunscreen 15 minutes before I go outside. EVERY TIME. And then I put on a mig sun hat. And probably a UPF long sleeve shirt that has thumb holes so my hands are protected. I may use an umbrella. Sounds like a lot but I’m almost 40 and my skin looks amazing.

demaandronk

I'm allergic to a lot.of sunscreens so I'm not at all to be honest, don't think I've put on sunscreen in over 5 years

pandorasbox341

I wear it when I go out during the day. But if I'm just going to be in the house all day I don't

udntsay

I put Neutrogena face 50 on my face, neck and arms every day

Viggos_Broken_Toe

Kinda? When I was working, I would put sunscreen on before work even though my commute is only like 3 minutes and I don't get direct sunlight in my office. I'll reapply before I go out for a run in the afternoon (and will wear long sleeves, a hat, and a sleeve over my leg that has tattoos!). Once I shower after my run, I don't reapply, though. So if I go out for dinner, I might be exposed for like the 10 minute drive to get to where we're going.

FelineRoots21

If I'm going to be outside for a long period of time, I'll put some on, but most days I don't wear any at all. I work overnights, I rarely see the sun anyway. Now that it's getting a little warmer out and there are times I'll get to sit outside on my days off and read in the sun, then I'll put some on. Otherwise, it's not important to me

greenlun

I just use it as moisturizer. I even use it going to bed. Works great. I'm 39, smoke two packs a day, drink heavily, and look pretty good skin wise. It's the sunscreen, I have very minimal sung damage despite tanning in high school.

AnNJgal

Every day. SPF 50, face neck and chest. I also bring a bottle with me in the car for the driving (protect your hands).

MorphicOceans

I'm in Scotland so a moisturiser with built in SPF is fine for most of the year. When the sun decides to make an appearance I slap on the SPF50. I have the classic celtic redhead skintone and burn in 15 minutes of mild Scottish sun so I don't take any chances. Honestly though, I prefer to stay out of the sun anyway. Anything over 20C is too hot for me, I'd rather be inside in front of a fan. 😆

auinalei

I apply sunscreen everyday to my face and also to my body if I’m going out in the sun I am an esthetician and I always apply spf as the last part of the facial so I would hope your esthetician is doing the same !!

lovelifetofullest

God damn …you all are making me feel horrible for not wearing sunscreen skiing today. I really need to start wearing sunscreen, I’m getting on the wagon. (My makeup does have spf 15 at least and I wear that everyday…trying to make myself feel better)

Deep_Middle9124

I wear it daily as a part of my morning skincare routine. I don’t really reapply though unless I’m going to be out in the sun, then I reapply. I also like hats and coverups for sun protection, and I do keep sunscreen in my bag at all times though so I can apply/reapply if needed. I have very fair skin though so I burn fast! Applying spf every morning is also something that I have been doing since I was in elementary school because skin cancer is super common in my family. My mom got me in the habit before I even really knew what I was doing. Both of my parents and all of their siblings have had skin cancer, some multiple times. My mom almost lost her eye when she was maybe 30 from it, and I have an aunt who has had her nose and an ear removed and rebuilt due to skin cancer. That definitely helps me stay consistent with sun protection! Aging is one thing, but watching my aunt lose her literal nose from cancer… yeah that is a good motivator!

preppykat3

I’m a night owl so not often

seaofstars22

Every day. There’s an odd day every few months I won’t put it on when I’m inside all day. When I’m outside I reapply multiple times a day

Smokedlotus

I only wear it because it's my tinted moisturiser, I don't bother with anything else. I should probably add that I live in Scotland lol

CanuckBee

Super. It is the #1 thing you can do (along with not smoking or using drugs/alcohol) to keep your skin looking young. When you are in your 40s and beyond you will not look your age.

SoilGroundbreaking30

I have vitíligo and melasma and had cystic acne as a teen...I really like my complexion right now, so I take care... I live in Ecuador, so, I use sunblock twice a day, even if I don't leave the house, because I fear the free radicals.., and because my house has a glass ceiling on some areas...Long sleeves during daytime if I go outside + Sunglasses and a hat or cap.... I see a lot of tourists around here that are not very aware of the intensity of sunlight in Ecuador.
