Shooting an unarmed dude in the mouth, getting beat up their intended targets wife, the cherry on top being Robert chiming in with his own German accent, “This is my Waterloo!!”
Probably the funniest BTB series was the 4-parter on Napoleon III. First time I listened to it, I was in the middle of moving across the country, driving a 12-foot van with a trailer attached. It was so hard to focus on maneuvering that thing while cry-laughing.
It was either Mengele or Dirlewanger. Sorry, there’s a level of detail I choose not to remember when listening to episodes about the Nazi’s.
Edit - y’all seriously, can we give Matt some props here? Dude legit has sat through some of the worst stories of humanity and somehow made it bearable with jokes.

I first heard that in the dark of the desert at four in the morning while driving a carload of Colorado weed back home, and I swear to God, I almost ran my car off the road laughing.
Matt has made me laugh so hard at things that shouldn't be remotely funny. The soundboards will always get me, but I think Matt surprises hysterical laughter out of Robert more than any other guest and I love that for all of us.
I do like the way he and Robert vibe with one another. The both run on similar ridiculous energy. Also we need more from the sound board on Lieb’s end!
I loved how excited he was to have jar jar binks all loaded up on the soundboard and then find out the subject was…Joseph Mengele. The disappointment was palpable
Ahh it’s been a couple of bad mental health weeks for me so I haven’t been doing much that could trigger any extreme emotions. I love the show but since the Jefferson episodes dropped I can’t even listen to them because I know it’s going to stir up some hate.
They’ll still be there if/when you wanna give them a go. A good old fashioned sunshine lineup is in order sometimes. I personally love listening to childhood favorites on audiobook … Lord of the Rings… inheritance cycle… Anne of green gables. Stuff where the good guys always win. Take care of yourself friend

How did they make Mengele funny? It is an incredible skill. I had to stop the podcast because I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe at one point.
