With Kerry being active on the sub with all his
Reaction gifs my first thought when I saw your post was “ damn Captain really ain’t holding back“ Usually everyone still in the show is pretty cordial so I was shocked and had to reread your username haha
Early on I think he was willing to let things slide as they were learning and getting acclimated to the boat. But by the end they should have it down. They should be polished and they weren't. They got sloppy and he called them on it.
It's really easy to loose focus when you're almost done, start cutting corners and letting things go that you normally wouldn't. You're tired. It's very human, very understandable, very relatable, but not up to the standards of a luxury yacht. The last charter should be the best one, because everyone should have their shit fully together and be running at peak efficiency. But if they start slipping, it's his job to bring them back to the standard.
Someone might not even recognize that they're underperformed in those circumstances, so it's not against them. Except Ben, he was pretty open that he felt he could slack off because the season was almost over. "Almost" being the key word there.
Yep. And that's a mega insult to waffles.
Dangit. Now I'm hungry for waffles. All those little holes filled with butter, and then smothered in syrup... mmm.
Captain Jason ages like a fine wine. And a man who immediately fires someone for attempted sexual assault and then never speaks to them again is even more of a fine wine. It's funny, when you look at pictures of when he was young, he's actually just… He looks like another average Australian jock. But he's aged and gotten SO fine.
I thought his reaction was directly proportional to what was happening behind the scenes…Ben was talking shit and actively ok with slacking off since it was the last charter…ok so safety and general rules can be disregarded depending on if it’s the last charter or not? Ben’s a POS and captain noticed enough to respond without even having to hear Ben’s spewing BS in his confessionals. Ben should be fired since he shows he doesn’t gaf
Same way a good teacher handles “senioritis”. Step up scrutiny when it’s psychologically the hardest to give it your all. This always separates the wheat from the chaff.
This was building over the entire season. Ben was being a hypocritical wanker ALL SEASON and Cap only had patience for him. He's stern, but he's fair, and everything he said and did was entirely justifiable.
He has a standard to maintain, and if his crew is gonna take the piss out of that, they can suck it up and not have a sook when they're inevitably reprimanded for it.
His feedback was fair throughout from my pov. I’ve honestly never found him out of line. I think there was a lot going on behind the scenes with Ben, who seems to be a bit of an entitled and emotionally stunted dingbat.
I just binged the whole season and I think Captain Kerry is the best! One moment that stands out is when Barbie messed up breakfast orders and he offered to check in on the guests so he could de-escalate things. It was a small thing and it's exactly what a leader should do! His concern with safety, his willingness to help out, and his perspective in supporting his leads was amazing. I really hope Fraser appreciated and learned from him because he went too far this season trying to fire everyone this season, and Captain stopped him from becoming a villain. I agree that Captain was trying to keep standards up toward the end and Ben was taking advantage. When the deck crew complained about Kerry's style, the clips all showed a calm, direct Captain who had standards that he was willing to help them reach. Plus he told them multiple times about the bunk check and only Ben and Kyle didn't do it, which made them look extra childish and unready for responsibility.
Captain Kerry can do no wrong. Those bunks were a disgrace and needed a good clean lol . Your standards should stay high from the start of the season until the end, I think he was just making sure of that.
Either that or he was out of his coffee for his tiny cup.
I think he was perfectly justified. The crew let him down and he snapped into dick mode. Reality is, do your job well and people will call you names you want to be called.
They last charter they thought they didn't have to listen to his orders and were flat out disrespectful towards him. He stood his ground and wasn't going to let the deck crew walk over him. Kerry was always firm, but fair.
He certainly needs to be more Captain than friend, for sure. I think he's great, this season and every one before. It's literally the man's job to be on their asses. He wants everyone to be safe, in the end!
Hello, my favorite Captain!
Gimme a gif. A good one, pls? One that will make me feel incredibly special!
(Now you can’t leave me hanging because however will I go on with a meaningful life, if you don’t reply? Clearly I’ll be too woe-struck. 😣)

He got meaner towards the end of the season. I don't like the way he speaks to people when he gets angry. I like that he wants to uplift people, but when he gets pissy, it's really unpleasant.
He saw them dropping the ball and checking out and held them accountable. He’s clearly got high standards
![gif](giphy|KffdTQfewxdbKTGEJY)
Here he is! Absolutely agree with ball dropping, especially Benny boi
you'd think they'd have dropped by now lol explains a lot
Oh he’ll be back!! He’s just got standards.
Can we keep Kerry and give back Ben?
Ben is an egocentric douche. ![gif](giphy|fu2ye1tYL6txSj5xLH)

Just stumbled on this sub. Didn’t realize there were cast on here. Oh well, didn’t say anything I wouldn’t say to his face. PS - Hi Kyle🙂
Oh…is Kyle on here?…. ![gif](giphy|143SvlwljAUXMk)
Thought the exact same for a split second!! Ha!!

![gif](giphy|B1TMcmoBAaSZi) Captain Egomaniac and micromanager. Tone it down some.🙄
What?!? He’s had zero ego on display the entire season. He’s been firm but fair. What a bananas statement.
Probably Ben
No doubt. It feels like something Ben would do. ![gif](giphy|3fivAVKvetM2TAKkSF)

Ben was a twatwaffle.

Kerry and Jason are truly the studs of the sea ⚓️

He held them accountable, don’t see how that’s a problem. He has high standards
What happened was Kerry acting like a Capt. should.

He had enough of their BS lol
They were slipping and he was getting them inline. And then he was disrespected. That’s when the switch flipped and it was completely warranted.
exactly my take, the disrespect by Ben was the last straw
He is my fav captain
![gif](giphy|3orif3j4dRfClbz18k)
He’s one of the best captains. Doesn’t take any bullshit.
![gif](giphy|Jev4iU72S9RYc)
He and Jason by leaps and bounds.
They blatantly ignored his order to clean their room

Ben was dropping the ball and Capt. Kerry had to get on him to finish out the season strong.
They deserved it.

...Why have I never realized the "dingbat" is the perfect description for Ben?? Masterful. 🧡😂
Dingbat or dingus?
I’m happy with either.
;)

Also I loved how he said something like "that was a big adventure" at the end! Advenchaaaaaaaa!
ADVENCHAA!!!!

And Ben was just a conceited little shit.

Was this the first time the did a cabin check on this show? I don’t remember Lee ever doing kne
It's apparently industry standards it's normally boring so it doesn't make the edit. Ben just showed his ass and drug Kyle down with him.
possibly but they're a regular thing in yachting
He saw some getting very lazy, I have watch other Capts. have to get after crew at end of season this is nothing new.
I think he was perfectly justified. The crew let him down and he snapped into dick mode. Reality is, do your job well and people will call you names you want to be called.

I think you were not paying attention, the crew was bad all year.
He certainly needs to be more Captain than friend, for sure. I think he's great, this season and every one before. It's literally the man's job to be on their asses. He wants everyone to be safe, in the end!
he *is* more a captain than a friend. Being an empathetic leader doesn't mean friendship comes before his duty to the crew, the boat and the guests.
I think it was produced drama.
Yeah like didn't he pull the cabin inspection really late in the season?
a cabin inspection is an expected part of yachting and even fraser said, they can be done at any time standards shouldn't drop at the end

No
Aren’t you lovely! 😘

Whale! Thank you, sir.

Just imagine how unpleasant it is for him when employees are intentionally insubordinate assholes.
I will always always be team crew against the captain every time. 😂😂
Ben, is that you?! lol
Except for Ben! Ben can get lost!
😂 Ben... ![gif](giphy|xx8Z8A4JhOJPFyPwnL|downsized)
Yep!! Such an ass.
