It’s not an intimidation thing but rather just the versatility. I do like going onto trails once in a while and want to possibly dabble in proper mountain biking and was thinking this bike would do the job and if I do enjoy it, I can later upgrade.
Depends on how far you're commuting. Less than 5 miles = great. More than that you'd want something lighter with thinner tires. Looks like a fun ride and Trek makes a good product.
If the bike is in good state and as shown in the picture, I'd say it is a very good deal for £120
