I believe one of the Exo-Force sets used these as a mech's shoulder pads, so that might be a good place to check for inspo?

Came here to say that, it was one of my first true-lego sets after Bionicle. It's 7708 Uplink

jakevschu

Yes! I remember those shoulder joints being unusually well-balanced and fluid to play with. Might make for a great MOC too?

torsherno

The set has stikers over the technic hole, so I was always afraid to MOC the piece. The suggested alternative build had a connection that couldn't be undone without stiker removal

Also came here to say that ain’t no hockey helmet that’s an Uplink shoulder

Monscawiz

Depends on how the shoulders are built. Set 7708 managed it

I'm sorry for the shameless plug, but my Toa of Lightning uses them and has doubled jointed elbows in the arm design. https://www.instagram.com/p/CvyZ7DCrYxY/?igsh=MTc4MmM1YmI2Ng== I used Glatorian necks and axles with stoppers to keep them from coming loose. The connection is strong enough for just the arms, but with the weight of her crossbows, she needed friction extenders to hold her arms up.

nik4idk

Could you give me instructions if that's ok?

Achi-baba

Sure! It's easier to reach me on Instagram, but feel free to DM me, and I'll send them as soon as possible.

Toa_Firox

Ideally, you'd want them angled 45 degrees so that they look natural. If you're using balljoints, then that might be a little harder to implement, but an armature over the top of the ball and under the plate **should** do the job.
