i dont know what genres youre into but if you like electronic/indie/techno type stuff, eden and brakence are my go tos. i also like soundtracks from movies or shows i relate to like euphoria and hanna
If you want to try something completely random, that can get you energetic, try listening to folk songs of different countries. 😄
At the moment I'm really into Russian and Polish folk songs, and they work like magic, when I need motivation
Try this one: https://youtu.be/4kfQNPldvAg?si=Yzhleitv3TDhD3hU
I already mentioned it in another post but This Song Saved My Life by Simple Plan. The video is amazing too

I love Julien Baker's music when I'm depressed. Her new stuff is great but her emo teenage band hits on another level. It's only on Bandcamp but check it out. These two specifically :) https://thestarkillerstn.bandcamp.com/track/black-poppy-wine

this is the ULTIMATE bipolar music for me, reflects the mixed episodes so well https://open.spotify.com/track/3KaYZPAzhPeuJnphA7z8Qg?si=QaIo8LLtTeOfbc1JR5Ipag

This is the playlist that I listen to that I feel reflects my experiences with bipolar and I find it comforting.
[Kylesa - Back and Forth](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHVwBiFmocE)
Try and concentrate
Brain is melting
Walking in a daze
Security of isolation
Always shifting, back and forth
Blueprint within
Light to be switched
Voices unspoken
Sounds unheard
Always shifting, back and forth
Calm, but no peace
Race without a prize
Youth faded too fast
Reset this life
Always shifting, back and forth
We all fade out
Dave Matthews Band. Personal favorites are: Two Step, Warehouse, Dancing Nancies, What You Are, The Stone, Grey Street (perfectly describes depression), & Rapunzel. I find his music to be very therapeutic for me. It really speaks to me and has helped get me through some pretty dark times. Also, their Live music is far better than studio recordings.
Numb Little Bug by Em Beihold, literally gets me in the bipolar feels every dang time. I first heard that song when I was diagnosed in 2022 and it really helped me a lot.
Bipolar by depresión post-mortem, it’s a Spanish song with like a slow melancholy Cumbia vibe.. so good. The lyrics are very on point and sad. If you don’t speak Spanish I believe the lyrics are posted on English too and you can look them up.
I can’t wait to see this playlist! I have a couple mania playlists that I put on when I’m manic or feeling hypomanic haha
The first one that comes to mind is Jimi Hendrix. He was bipolar and actually has a song called [Manic Depression](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nnGtB-PSw4), but you can also hear it in all his work.
On the depressive side: [Hear My Train a Comin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vrs0XgnXsxk), [My Friend](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1Ut-rwxKBA), [I Don't Live Today](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcbE9bHvj2g)
On the manic side: [Third Stone From The Sun](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zts332Y-nyg), [Up From The Skies](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wagVqW_cD5c), [You Got Me Floatin](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOfv4k63vtQ)
When Im in my low states I LOVE Lana del Rey and SZA
Yes I love them!! Lana speaks to my lows so well and SZA is more for my highs :)
I like Blue October, the lead singer/song writer has bipolar, and describes so much of it in his music.
That’s great thank you!!
My pleasure!
I would absolutely recommend 'Goose Snow Cone' by Aimee Mann. I listen to it even when not low, but it just hits me so much better when low.
Ooh never heard of that thank you! Will be listening to that today
Awesome! You're welcome! I would love to hear back how you feel about it.
Listened to the whole album and loved it!! The song you recommended was the best
Oh yay! I'm so happy you liked it! I downloaded the whole album, but I basically only listen to that one, so I also think it the best. :D
Halsey is great. She has bipolar as well and I identified so much with her music even before I found out. I recommend gasoline :)
I didn’t know that thank you! I’ll be adding that to my new playlist
i dont know what genres youre into but if you like electronic/indie/techno type stuff, eden and brakence are my go tos. i also like soundtracks from movies or shows i relate to like euphoria and hanna
Perfect! I like a little bit of everything so I’ll give them a listen

Slowdive's latest album Everything is Alive is nice and relaxing, like a sonic sea. Great to listen to in calmer or more empty times.

Frank ocean as well

Passion Pit. Especially Little Secrets. But truly all of his music is pretty much about the experience of being bipolar.
Burial. He has incredible tunes for all moods. His music is true art.
Mary Lambert - Secrets. The song literally started with “i’ve got bipolar disorder”. the whole lyric was relatable to me. Such a fun song too
