lease clearly states in small print - fetal position only, not responsible for head injuries caused by fully extending body while sleeping or napping. this includes but not limited to stretching and absolutely under no circumstances will there be any exercise or calisthenics.
Fuck them rats, if I’m paying that much to live in a broom closet the rest of the expenses are probably also trashed, I’m going to need those particles!
Come to Kansas. I'm chilling on 1 bedroom $600/mo mortgage. It also has a 2 car detached garage that has about the same square footage as my house, lol.
I don’t live to work. While I don’t like either extreme, living in a broom closet in a big city or living in a huge home in the middle of nowhere, I’d like to have a job and a livable home in a city that affords me a healthy social life and exposure to activities I’d enjoy.
The rasicm in Texas is pretty bad.. if you made it there, you'll be just fine in the Midwest. Rasicm still exists here, they're just a lot more shy about it.
Do not, I repeat DO NOT invite New Yorkers to your area. Thats like saying "hey cancer, is the colon you're currently infecting getting overcrowded with tumors and sepsis? Come on over to my clean healthy colon and make a home for your self today" because it will and then you have to live with how it votes.
So, I have to leave my apt and go down the hallway? I'm in my underwear, covered in cheeto dust and powdered sugar, and I have to take a post nut shit. Sorry, I'm hanging my ass out the window.
We are going back to feudal times when they just pitched waste out the window. Except the robbers are not hiding in the woods waiting for travelers, instead they pitch a tent next to your place of business.
Aye yall paying this much can’t even shit in yo own place or do anything for yourself besides sleep??? This is terrible…I thought I was having a tough time in Ohio, I’m blessed. And way more comfortable than everybody in this damn building that for sure(minus the penthouse if it has those lol).
It's fucked everywhere, but it's *severely fucked* in coastal metros. I'm gonna chill here in MI with my legal weed and lower cost of living. Not that it isn't still nuts - if we'd bought our house in 2019 instead of 2023 it would have been a little over half the price we paid.
We have legal weed in NYC.
People mostly move here to take their shot at a very successful career. There's more opportunity in NYC, and people are willing to temporarily live in less than ideal conditions while they're pursuing their goals. They either fail and move back where they came from, or they succeed and get a better living situation.
That's all. People just have different priorities in life.
If you're renting a place like that then it's probably because you like _where_ it is, not necessarily _what_ it is.
There's bigger places you can get for the same money, but the difference is that they're not located in one of the most desirable places in the world.
What neighborhood is this in? Probably someone who just has to live in Manhattan and doesn't want roommates, why on Earth would this be better than living with a roommate anywhere in BK...
Had a version of this in the mid 80s. It was one room with a bunk bed (they called that a loft) below my bunk was a kitchen. Infront of my bunk was a window with room for a chair.
at the end of my kitchen was a glass door with a toilet, a shower head over the toilet, a drain in the floor. $800. upper west side. Truth.
Good point, if the ceiling is high enough, a loft bed helps a lot. Plus you have the walls to protect you from falling off, LOL! I had a loft bed for the room I rented in college, perfectly fine for a younger person.
Same situation here in Europe. Finding a place in London, Paris, and Milan is basically impossible. Some people sell "tents" in apartments as true living spaces. I know people in London who live with 16 or more others in the same place, unable to afford even a table to eat at or gas for heating. There are college students in Milan who cannot study because they have nowhere to go, with the lowest price being $2000. In Paris, the situation is even more extreme, with people renting dark corners full of rats for prices that only the king himself could afford. This situation isn't just limited to the city center; it's pervasive throughout these cities. It's a total madness that's affecting generations of people who are forced to return to living with their parents after 30 because basic necessities are impossible to obtain. And it's not just lower class individuals; even middle class individuals, doctors, lawyers, fashion models, and others with good incomes are impacted. I know a dentist who shares his studio with more than 5 other dentists and they use it in rotations. It's a shame. This is one of the topics that deeply saddens me.

I will never understand the appeal of city life. Paying all that money to rent a shoebox apartment just to be surrounded by crime, noise, and pollution. No thanks.
People who choose to live in cities typically do so because they value proximity to economic, cultural, and social opportunities more than solitude. Different strokes for different folks and all that.
Urban and rural people are intentionally pit against one another to divide and control the masses and preserve power structures that only benefit the elite ✌️
It’s JUST on the edge of my brain and I can’t quite recall it. Definitely from a film score.
Edit:
INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE! Not sure exactly what track it is, but definitely from the score.
I have a small bathroom and it's bigger than this. People who think it's acceptable to ask any amount of money for a short hallway masquerading as an apartment need to be dragged, perhaps keelhauled if there's a ship around. 😒
Philly same thing for 950$ a month. I was looking for my apartment last year and accidentally found something similar. I couldn’t believe they were trying to rent out a closet.
This is exactly what the ruling class wants!!! The plebs to happy with a closet and no toilet! God bless the wealthy and fuck the rest of us right?! Yay merrica lol
This is exactly what the ruling class wants!!! The plebs to happy with a closet and no toilet! God bless the wealthy and fuck the rest of us right?! Yay merrica lol
I live is a eastern europian country and our commie blocks get a lot of shit. I mean, the shit is well deserved, living in those things is not the best and they look so damm ugly, but I think that they are a lot better than whatever this is.
There's a window in the closet!
This must be Apt # 1/4
Naw. More like apartment number 00100100.
Benders apartment number? Lol No wait, Benders apartment had a closet.
Maybe we’re not seeing the closet. It’s just wasted space anyway
Yes! Finally someone else who had the same thought watching these videos lol
r/unexpectedfuturama
If that's the case, then I gotta see their closet
Nice
B
What is this Harry Potter?
No, this is Patrick!
His fruit tree’s definitely gonna get enough light
Stupid human wanting to sleep in a closet.
00100100
Every day I see more and more references to that show. Which tells me the future that the show envisioned is becoming more and more accurate.
lease clearly states in small print - fetal position only, not responsible for head injuries caused by fully extending body while sleeping or napping. this includes but not limited to stretching and absolutely under no circumstances will there be any exercise or calisthenics.
Love obscure Futurama.
Look at Mr Fancy with a window!
Borat would feel like a king.
King in the castle King in the castle
La-ti-da!
That’s the bathroom
It's everything.
Thats an expensive storage closet
It's actually a real listing too, this is the 2nd video I've seen of it. Tiny shared bathroom down the hall.
I can't imagine why people are leaving New York.
The rent is absurd, but NYC hasn't seen a population decrease since the 1970's.
NYC could actually be a great city if they banned cars and used all of that space for electric light rail and housing.
Nobody drives in New York, there's too much traffic!
If nobody drives, then why is the traffic so bad 🤔
Cmon...
"NY would be great if \*1 trillion dollar project over 50 years*
No one is staying in NY. It's too crowded.
That's barely enough for the brooms
You don't need brooms. Your loyal rats and cockroaches will clean up every particle of your mess.
Fuck them rats, if I’m paying that much to live in a broom closet the rest of the expenses are probably also trashed, I’m going to need those particles!
>I’m going to need those particles! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's better than listing in Vancouverfor renting half a bed it was advertised for about $800 a month.
That's honestly a steal. I'm sitting at $3,300.00 a month for a small 2 bedroom apartment.
Come to Kansas. I'm chilling on 1 bedroom $600/mo mortgage. It also has a 2 car detached garage that has about the same square footage as my house, lol.
Shut up man keep this a secret God damn lol
We know Kansas exists, it’s cheap for a reason.
You would have to pay me to live in Kansas
Come to Yorkshire UK, 2-3 bedroom flat costs £500 per month😁
I’m down with mushy peas.
So rent isn't that bad in the UK? Croatia costs more than that
Outside of London it’s not too bad. The further north you go, the better value you get. Yorkshire is a solid option.
Oh yes, AVOID London😃😄
And no jobs, social life and culture ![gif](giphy|vx2kBoF0tynHHGzR8P|downsized)
Where are you from looking down on Kansas? Screw social life and culture. Jobs on the other hand is important.
I don’t live to work. While I don’t like either extreme, living in a broom closet in a big city or living in a huge home in the middle of nowhere, I’d like to have a job and a livable home in a city that affords me a healthy social life and exposure to activities I’d enjoy.
Would I be welcomed in Kansas City? I'm Hispanic with a thick accent. Idk how racism is anywhere else but Texas.
The rasicm in Texas is pretty bad.. if you made it there, you'll be just fine in the Midwest. Rasicm still exists here, they're just a lot more shy about it.
So you live in Texas? What part?
About an hour out of the capital of NC. Got our house for 135k. 3 BR, 2 bath, carport, full barn, and a small field.
Yea but can you do gay drugs like in Vancouver?
Do not, I repeat DO NOT invite New Yorkers to your area. Thats like saying "hey cancer, is the colon you're currently infecting getting overcrowded with tumors and sepsis? Come on over to my clean healthy colon and make a home for your self today" because it will and then you have to live with how it votes.

There’s more NYers than most state populations
So the person wants a stranger in their bed? Normally, you have to pay the stranger not the other way around!
Depending on who is on the other half, I'm open to hearing the details
That’s called a cell not a studio
Where do you take a shit?
Out the window, like a normal person
Or average NYC hobo
There's a communal bathroom at the far end of the hall
So, I have to leave my apt and go down the hallway? I'm in my underwear, covered in cheeto dust and powdered sugar, and I have to take a post nut shit. Sorry, I'm hanging my ass out the window.
I think most residents do the same. At least it sure smells like it when I walk down the street
mmm cheetos dust droppings
I take my post nut shits in grocery bags
Okay, thanks for sharing
Why not? For the erection you will have had to open the window anyways.
Post nut shits are a thing?
They are if you're a bottom
There’s a what????? Tf….
It’s nice, people wipe for you…
Sidewalk , like they do in San Francisco
We are going back to feudal times when they just pitched waste out the window. Except the robbers are not hiding in the woods waiting for travelers, instead they pitch a tent next to your place of business.

shit, a penthouse in this building is prolly worse than whatever you're chillin in
Probably 😂😂 ain’t wanna disrespect the pent tho.
It's fucked everywhere, but it's *severely fucked* in coastal metros. I'm gonna chill here in MI with my legal weed and lower cost of living. Not that it isn't still nuts - if we'd bought our house in 2019 instead of 2023 it would have been a little over half the price we paid.

Is it like Bender’s apartment in Futurama where there is a door opening into the actual apartment, or just piss poor housing?
The communal bathroom shower always feels great after a 16 hour double shift
Not bad at all, you can almost fit a bed in there.....
Too luxurious for my taste.
If you fit it wall to wall you got a chance, just get one that can fold, and hang it up against the wall
Damn, you get a whole fire escape. Usually that costs extra.
What neighborhood is this in? Probably someone who just has to live in Manhattan and doesn't want roommates, why on Earth would this be better than living with a roommate anywhere in BK...

So is living in a closet in SoHo lol
This reminds me of Futurama Benders Apt when Fry first moved in

Great closet
bruh. I thought [Zootopia ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6F7fnZs3KQ)was joking.
If you're coming home, I think someone stole your furniture...
I will never understand the appeal of city life. Paying all that money to rent a shoebox apartment just to be surrounded by crime, noise, and pollution. No thanks.

Stop living in downtown Manhattan? Maybe live away from the financial district? Queens and Brooklyn are, while not cheap, very much affordable.
No room to breathe, yikes
Looks exactly like the house of zootopia's rabbit(Judy hopps). Hahaha... https://images.app.goo.gl/ZNcmk7kV8sjFAgP98
That’s the size of the bathroom I’m in right now
this is literally a steal
Cheaper than Paris 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Well of course! Paying $1,200 for a cupboard space! /s
Wtf how is this okY
Dude I think someone stole all your stuff
Really?
I had sex in a dorm closet in NYC, so in comparison this looks very upscale
Aye look the window opens ![gif](giphy|gczbF6nbRPVZ1YigE3)
Very nice with balcony 👌
That fucking sucks
You got more space being homeless
Where's the bathroom?
How do you even live in that
How is this legal?
Is it 1200 a month?
Could have at least let the door swing outwards instead of inwards.
The hallway reminds me of Titanic
My basement office is twice that size and has a bathroom. I’m going to state the oblivious you should move.
Damn.. My mortgage is $930/month and that's for four bedroom, two bathroom, two car garage and an acre of land
Honestly, that is a perfect spot. I think if I angle it right I could get the blood splatter from me, killing myself on every wall!!!
So roomy
This shouldn't even be legal.
City people love to trash talk country people..... Meanwhile my closet is bigger than this 😂
If you're stupid enough to pay for it, you deserve it
What’s the song? It seems familiar.
It’s JUST on the edge of my brain and I can’t quite recall it. Definitely from a film score. Edit: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE! Not sure exactly what track it is, but definitely from the score.
I pay just a little more than that for a 1970s "falling apartment" in austin. Its a decent spot but nowhere near worth what i pay for it.
Coming home, but the radio says good morning
Where doth one shiteth
NYC pays above average wages. If you can keep your cost of living low, you'll be able to invest and eventually have a bit more control over your life.
Uhhh coming home in the morning to the news in new york?
I have a small bathroom and it's bigger than this. People who think it's acceptable to ask any amount of money for a short hallway masquerading as an apartment need to be dragged, perhaps keelhauled if there's a ship around. 😒
You gotta consider there are a lot of people that live in $100k sprinter vans and don't really have any source of income
No bathroom?
Benders ?
Good for an office at best
Philly same thing for 950$ a month. I was looking for my apartment last year and accidentally found something similar. I couldn’t believe they were trying to rent out a closet.
Clearly the closet has a hidden passage inside that, instead of leading to Narnia, takes you to a 5-star luxury suite
Where’s the toilet?
Why? What’s there that this is worth paying and living like? Just move to Texas and get a decent sized 2b2b for this price.
Backrooms Logic 😏
The song. This song. Not the rap version. But the music. It’s from a game. I think it’s halo, or even maybe fallout? Please help me remember!
Why does anyone live in ny?
This is exactly what the ruling class wants!!! The plebs to happy with a closet and no toilet! God bless the wealthy and fuck the rest of us right?! Yay merrica lol
This is exactly what the ruling class wants!!! The plebs to happy with a closet and no toilet! God bless the wealthy and fuck the rest of us right?! Yay merrica lol
No
Bender's house
Nice closet!
Damn…talking about claustrophobic…
Hope the insta was worth it
u/savevideo
This Can't Be Legal...![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|rage)
No rats and mold 😍 1200$ is a steal!
This should not be legal to just call that thing a studio… just a single person bed fills 80% of the space how can you live like that?!
The Home Depot garage closet is a nice touch 👌
I have a crush on that apartment. Does anyone know the name of the building or something? /genq
Stop it 😳
You will live in a pod, own nothing, and you’ll be happy about it.
The vibe tho
Yea no, I’d just move away from NY. I’m happy with my 4 bedroom 3 bath+ 1 acre lot for the same price.
A window, no roaches. Honestly pretty nice for New York
Did you know if you moved to Michigan, you can find a whole two bedroom townhouse for $750-850??
I hope it's worth it
You mean to say 120 dollars right?
Holy shit i can put a couch in there
Futurama apartment, you're supposed to open the closet door and realize the rest of your apartment is in the next room.
New York City is a joke
How is this legal
That’s a $1200 grow room
I live is a eastern europian country and our commie blocks get a lot of shit. I mean, the shit is well deserved, living in those things is not the best and they look so damm ugly, but I think that they are a lot better than whatever this is.
Oh my god... you can lay down in your room!?!? Lookit Mr Richie Rich over here!
Oh look, it's a tiny home apartment lmao
Do you crap in a can, and toss it out the window?
5000 in toronto.
Nice entry, where's the rest?
That is just so ridiculous! How does anyone willingly live in New York
The bathroom is the room on his left when he was walking down the corridor iirc.
You paying this price along with so many others is why they charge so much. Cause you’ll still fucking pay for over priced shit
There’s more room in the hallways then in the actual rooms
Jeeeesus H Christ. My rate is the same but I get 1300 sq ft. Good ole Atlanta.
Ummm.....NO!
lmao no way
Where's the bathroom?
Boy ain't no way boy
The jail is bigger and for free
Where do you put your nuts?
Room for rent.
He pees and takes a dump down the balcony?
My balcony is much bigger than this. Oh, I don't have a balcony.
And it seems like you are the dumb AI they were trying to recruit
NYC legally Robs all of you every month and yall lay there and take it lmao
