Did you see that $4800 sellotape bracelet Balenziaga did? You are probably right on the money. Their artistic point is they know people will buy anything because of their brand, it’s both a flex and a critical take on their fans. But the irony is their own art, intended to expose the fashion industry as vapid and empty, is just another example of the same thing. So they’re contributing to the very thing they’re critiquing, while being completely unoriginal because every fashion artist is doing the same thing
It's a fashion show. Shows like this are where fashion designers show off their collections. It's one part marketing, two parts performance art, and three parts industry networking event. I'm not familiar with this designer or what the theme of their show is, but it's assuredly all intentional.
