You could link a poll so that we can vote for favorite, least favorite, overrated, and underrated all on one post instead of dividing them into separate threads
im awake babes.
I’ve just decided to leave this post up. When it comes to these types of posts I just leave it be, for one because some people like to participate in these voting posts, and two, it eventually dies down on its own so people who don’t like it can rest assured that it’s gone.
It kinda has to be like this because either way people are going to be unhappy if these types of posts keep happening or if they’re banned/removed. This came up as a discussion point shortly after you left. Yes, there’s a rule against these types of posts, but personally I don’t see the harm if it happens once in a while, though there are some caveats to that.
I’m thinking of making a poll to gauge the subreddit’s opinion on these types of post, if they should be allowed or not once and for all. I’d rather be democratic about it.
ps: out of the 8 mods, I’m one of 3 that are active, and the only one out of the new mods that is active. I’m trying my best :(
Me and orkestrall discussed such type of posts in the past before you were made a mod, and that's when that rule was added. Some posts of this kind were/are absolutely unnecessary, and those should be removed. However, every once in a while, a different kind of post comes by, and for me, there is no harm in letting it be instead of striking it down immediately. It is supposed to be a sub for fans after all, and if a fan is driving engagement and is excited for their post, it makes very little sense to remove it because of a made-up rule.
Making a poll on this isn't needed as that would be a power mod move and am not sure a fan sub needs hardened rules on such things. As long as things remain calm and civil, we should just let it be.
Also, don't sweat out over-moderating. Most of the mods are active but silent, I only take action when it's absolutely necessary and if someone else hasn't beat me to it already. Please don't think you are alone and burdened. We appreciate you and we are here as well. ☺️
i want to thank you for keeping the post up but im gonna stop making these posts because it seems to upset a lot of people and im new to this subreddit so i dont wanna cause frustration or drama. i also cant think of a better way to make these posts (i dont know if you can make multiple polls in a post) but i still appreciate you keeping the post up. i think that because some people will view it as karma farming, it will make people mad and thats the last thing i wanna do! thx anyway ☺️
hi! sorry for the events that came out of this! just know it wasn’t because your post specifically. I’m going to lock this post, but please feel free to make something similar! Someone suggested using some kind of third party poll, maybe something along that avenue :)
You can use Google docs or many other websites which allow you to make multiple polls or polls with many options. I'd suggest that.
Or you can make a post for each album and people can give their answers, after which you can count the votes. For example, for Post my answer would be Headphones, I Miss You, Cover Me, It's Oh So Quiet. You can count which songs got most votes. This way you'll only have to make 10 more posts, one for each album.
no hate because I was in your position. I know that it's literally one person doing all the heavy lifting and I'm sorry that it's you. IDK why people want to be a mod and not do anything. There's also a bunch of stuff that just gets left that shits the place up (duplicate posts, those "where should I start?" posts that show up every other day and all yield the same answer, for example) - which is where the frustration comes from. It's not solely your fault but it might feel like it is because you're the one most active. The "all" meant literally all, not just the new 4 (although I worded that badly so that's my fault)
Trust me, out of any member here, I totally get your position. That's why I stepped down because I was doing all the admin work but also getting the most shit for it while everyone else stayed quiet. It's annoying and draining.
Anyways IDK if you need to make a poll if that's what you all have decided.
We have several very active mods now, not everyone is as visible as others but 4 different mods have done a ton in the past month. Admittedly, I am not very active on reddit and don't catch a lot. Usually by the end of the day when I can check the mod queue it's all cleared out. I think that says a lot for our current team of mods.
It's very difficult to catch everything on here, it has become quite a large subreddit.
It's also difficult to find good mods. When I put posts up for suggestions and for new mods, I have not gotten a ton of engagement. I appreciate the time you put in as a mod, you contributed a TON, but this criticism is a bit much.
As always, I am super open to any suggestions to make the subreddit better.
all I said was that there's a ton of stuff that gets ignored (which is true) and the rest of what I said is based on what the other mod said. Either they are exaggerating or you are. I don't have all the info so if you disagree on how active the mods are... isn't that between you two? Sorry for sympathizing with them?
I am here as well and awake too. Some of us like to be silent but active mods. I go by the principle of not interfering unless absolutely necessary. I left this post up as we haven't had any like these for quite some time now. Both mods and regular members of the sub are aware that such posts eventually die down, in the mean time they do drive engagement and keep the sub active, so not much harm.
Everything that's reported gets dealt with. I'm sure there are things that slip through the cracks but it's pretty tough for a small team to catch everything, especially if they're not reported.
Twat is extremely active and contributes a lot, but my disagreement was with you saying one person does all the heavy lifting. Not with anything twat said, who actually did mention there are other mods active. Maybe you should read their post again.
Sorry for sympathizing with our other mods who do a lot too :) and sorry you're still upset about your time as a mod here.
Are there really going to be 43 more posts about this?
sorry im new to this reddit and i didnt know this counted as farming but ill stop making these posts. thanks for informing me though!!

THATS SO SMART TYSMM
What a shame, I was just thinking after seeing your posts I will rejoin this sub (been away for a while) but now I think I won't again
apparently. even though there's a rule against it. wild after I stopped being a mod FOUR mods were added and they're all asleep

You're doing a great job, and it's really appreciated.

i also would appreciate if this post was locked (idk how that works) as to get it off the top page faster but only when you have time
