I love this album so much. I think it’s one of their best, if not their best. I love the way Bjork’s vocals were used. Up My Sleeves is probably my favorite Death Grips track.
Fully agree, her vocals started to get very annoying to me in that album, so I never listen to it except for Up My Sleeves. (This is my OPINION before anyone starts downvoting me)
One of the best albums of the 2010s.
Nothing else sounds like it. Bjork’s voice gives it a lovely tonal and textural character that is cut up and destroyed and twisted so inventively. Zach Hill shows his genius as a drummer and arranger on NOTM. Chaos that can sound pained and visceral (Up My Sleeves) or even slightly playful (Have a Sad Cum/Fuck Me Out).
Best songs: Up my Sleeves, Billy not Really, Black Quarterback, Say Hey Kid, Voila, Big Dipper
