Gary Moore was a ferocious blues guitarist. He was a hard rock guitarist for much of his career before focusing on blues music, so he had the chops, but also incredible feel and a deep knowledge of blues guitar motifs.
Complete the set with Susan Tedeschi, The Derek Trucks Band, & Tedeschi Trucks Band. Collect them all! Jokes aside, there's so much stellar between these five artists/projects to keep anyone occupied & satisfied for a long, long time...
Eric Gayles, John Mayer, Derek Ttucks, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Dwayne Betts, Eric Stecke, Gary Clark Jr., Joe Bonamassa, Larkin Poe, King Solomon Hicks, Joanne Shaw Taylor, and Marcus King.
On the older side. Albert Collins, Freddie King, Albert King, Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter. The Allman Brothers, Hound Dog Taylor, Mountain, Luther Allison, Jimi Hendricks, Free, Ten Years After, and The Yardbirds
Excellent list! Adding Lightnin Hopkins, Junior Kimbrough, RL Burnside, The Black Keys, Fred McDowell, Rory Gallagher, Ry Cooder, Gatemouth Brown, Hubert Sumlin, Jeff Healey, Mick Taylor and Roy Buchanan.
Slash has a new blues album that’s not to my liking, but my thought when listening to it was that it would probably be a great bridge to blues for someone who isn’t already steeped into it. Joe Bonamassa is another popular bridge from rock to blues. Gary Moore is another one. Believe it or not, John Mayer is a beast of a blues player and blues is all over his work. His John Mayer Trio is not to be ignored.
Allman Brothers Band - peak blues rock. Nobody else even comes close. My favorite is Tedeschi Trucks, but the Allman Bros are OG. Allman Bros at Fillmore East is the best live album ever and the platinum standard for the genre where live albums are concerned.
Tedeschi Trucks Band - my favorite band ever. They are a soul band as much as a blues band and are life changing amazing. You’re welcome in advance.
Govt Mule
North Mississippi Allstars - can be a little hit or miss, but their live album Hill Country Revue is fantastic from start to finish.
Rolling Stones (Exile On Main St is the perfect blues rock album). They are kind of the original blues rock band.
Marcus King
Gary Clark Jr
Jimi Hendrix
Paul Butterfield Blues Band
Electric Flag
Led Zeppelin
Cream
Eric Clapton (Derek & the Dominoes is a seminal blues rock album)
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Samantha Fish
Kingfish Ingram
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Eric Gales
This one will be controversial, but it applies - Grateful Dead. They weren’t exclusively blues rock, but when they played blues, they were great at it. Kinda have to build up to them though.
Aynsley Lister is a little off the beaten path in the US, but I've become a really big fan.
Ty Curtis' more recent stuff is a little grittier and along the Lang lines, sort of.
If you like the band recommendations below you will love us.

Steve Gunn - Eyes on the Lines or The Unseen in Between are my favorite albums of his. Way Out Weather and Time Off albums have some great acoustic tracks
John Martyn - Easy Blues Live

And he was a pretty good singer as well, which puts him ahead of several other guitarists with a similar reputation in my book.
Yeah, Gary was the full meal deal. Fantastic talent, the world is poorer with him gone, but he left us a treasure trove of music.
Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule!!

Oh you like the white over produced, corporate blues? You'll just love Blues Hammer then. They're Real authentic
I like the white and the black blues players. You gotta problem with that.
Clearly you aren't part of the inside joke. I recommend watching "ghost world" and you'll understand.
Over-produced = negativity. Ghost World was not even in your comment. No inside joke. It's authentic.
Yeah, but the last 2 sentences are in ghost world. I'm not about to explain this. Watch the movie
I could care less about the movie. Say what you mean or feel the heat.
Lal and the People.
I can't believe I forgot The Cold Stares.
