I appreciate "Sleepytime" as emotional and very well done but reading comments it's one that *really* hits after kids. ("I will always be here if you need me" make me choke up, I'm human).
Honestly that's the episode where I'm like "that level of parenting is not sustainable. Put up a baby gate and lock balcony doors and just let Bingo sleepwalk". š
I didn't discover bluey until my toddler clicked with it. And it hits like a freight train. I just try ti shrug it off.
We have gates and everything but my kid is the size of a 5 year old at almost 2 and too smart. He knows how the gates work already. It's rough.
Oof.Ā
I meant more for unaware sleepwalk encounters, though. Not so much that the issue was Bingo going downstairs but waking up mid-crash.
Not that removing a baby gate is outside the realm of possibility for a sleepwalker, really.
What my kids love in Ā«Ā SleepytimeĀ Ā» is when they hit and jump on Bandit, because I have 2 tiny barbarians.
But yeah, after jumping on me all day long, they cuddle with me and ask Ā«Ā you will always be there if we need you, right?Ā Ā», so my heart melts.
Idk, I donāt mean to flex on anyone because parenting is hard but we found a way to always welcome our little ones in our big bed if they need it. Some nights are so bad because of it, but they wonāt be small forever :)
Yeah and you can watch and understand sleepytime with zero context. In and of itself itās a masterpiece. People love āthe signā because of all the fan service but itās just not nearly as good as sleepytime.
Cricket just ruins me and my husband and we are Canadian with not a single tie to cricket. The quiet determination and sportsmanship is what gets us every time š
42 year old man here, I had to get up and ...uh.. make some coffee in the kitchen by myself as soon as it ended. The whole song at the end and Bingo in the empty bedroom corner, the kids hugging Judo goodbye, then Bandit strong-arming that sign and throwing it into the street... man, they do a great job at storytelling. How do they get us in the feels so hard?
I had a grandpa Bob that up and left. Wanted to travel, but grandma didn't want to leave the kids and grandkid. So he left by himself and basically went full ghost. No number to let him know more grandchildren were being born, or when his daughters were getting married and wanted him to walk them down the aisle, or even to let him know grandma died. He was found 12 years later in Vegas.
As far as bluey goes, grandpa bob's voice actor had ongoing health issues and the creators didn't want to replace him, so wrote him on a trip for a while.
It happens. What's funny to is both have the same name, Bob.
A lot of people do that - they go on a spiritual journey to India and get cheated out of a lot of money by fake spiritualist "sages" and "gurus". Then they come back and have to tell everyone it was amazing because of buyers remorse.
Source I am Indian. I know the people here don't have a magical key to spirituality. It's all a front to sell some magical beans.
The tackle hug from Chili at the end was so great. She was really struggling to accept moving away but knew it could be for the better for their family and kids, but ultimately didnāt want to move.
I also love the shot they created with her standing in the kitchen where Bluey took her first steps.
Such a great episode and a reminder that money isnāt everything in life, some things hold much more value.
The callbacks to the other episodes are what got me. My 2 year old was very excited about Greeny being there, and I effing LOST. IT. when Brandy showed up pregnant at the wedding. It was so well done. Iām crying just thinking about it!
My husband reached out and clutched my arm the moment Brandy showed up. It's extremely out-of-character for him to have such a raw emotional reaction to something in media.
Thatās what made me emotional; her heaving shoulders clearing indicating she is crying with joy about staying. She was being so positive for the girls (and probably trying hard to think it herself), but Iām so glad it worked this way.
Omg same. My husband came into the living room after it was over and saw me crying on the couch and was like... Bluey? He knows me too well haha. Incredible episode.
Both my husband and I were bawling while our 4yr old was just watching being "cozy" in his words. Ugh I'm still teary from it and it's been around 7hrs.
I had to explain to my daughter why some people move. Not an easy conversation. Although it was easier than explaining to her what an orphanage was while we were watching one of the Grinch movies.
I'm military and with my trade we usually move every 2-6yrs (depending on your quals). We just moved this past summer and it wasn't a good move. It's still affecting our 4yr old cause he's still not in daycare. He's a social butterfly but we are still trying to get him with other kids. Also doesn't help that we found out shortly after our move I was pregnant, so it's been harder to get the energy to go out. Hopefully after our daughter gets here next month, things can settle down again since he's really wanting baby to come.
That sounds rough, I'm sorry. But congratulations! Hopefully it works out for the whole family. From my understanding, moving around that age seems to be the hardest. We've had friends from my daughter's daycare move and they've all said their kids had a hard time reacclimating to their new schools and new people. But I think it's something every kid will eventually go through. Next year when our daughter starts elementary school, she's no longer going to be with her closest friends who are in another district. So I expect it to hit her pretty hard.
Yeah it's definitely a learning curve that's for sure. He is also at the age where his brain is going through major changes, so yay. Thanks š, she was planned but not expecting so quick lol. Hopefully your daughter makes lots of new friends at her new school. At least this day and age, we have technology to keep in touch so hopefully she can still see her friends.
Watched it with my husband, the 11F and the 6F and we were all crying by the end. I had the little one one my lap and she was so teary. I had to hug her for about 15 minutes after it ended. And the we had to watch Hammerbarn.
I joke a lot with my wife about how I can always tell when she's going to cry when we're watching something.
As soon as I saw Brandy show up at the wedding, I knew she'd be crying... but I didn't say anything, because I was crying too...
Same!! We let our daughter (almost 2) stay up late to watch this episode and at the end she said "Hooray" while my husband and I quietly cried. Bluey hits hard sometimes.
I cried because I moved a lot as a kid and I don't think I've really let the feelings out.
The heelers getting to stay really hurt. I moved four times in high school alone. It just made me think about those times and give those feelings space to breathe. I still think I was better off moving and had a great childhood. That doesn't stop the feelings.
The coin was such a plot twist
I knew they would never leave the house. The house is iconic, and so are their neighbours.
I thought it would have happened after Bandit talked to Rad after the wedding toasts.
āMy mom doesnāt like my dad anymoreā
āOur mom likes your dadā
I really enjoyed this background plot this season it was very well executed as a slow burn but it was also easy to miss at first
Well deserved. This episode broke me. I started crying when the new couple looked through the binoculars and didn't stop until a half hour after the episode was over. Every character had their own emotional moments, the callbacks were perfect, Calypso's story at the beginning was just peak Calypso, if I were to describe the plot, it would sound like a feature length film yet it didn't feel rushed despite being less than a half hour.
I know they have plans for season 4, but if the sign is the last bluey episode i see, i will die happy.
[this is calypso's story](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_old_man_lost_his_horse) I use it ALL THE TIME in my therapy sessions. And YES [it's a buddhist tale](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kisa_Gotami) of a woman finding white mustard seeds from a family who has never experienced death.
I thought bandit would change mind half-way through the show after seeing frisbyband her husband gave up the plan to move to west coast.
It would be another cliche, I thought, parents thinking money isnt everything for kids blahblah
But the show surprised me: if it werent bc of the coin, it would be over for everything
And this is exactly like life: a lot of times, our life is changed not because anyone stood up and became a hero, it was the chain reaction of a lot of trivial stuffs, with the help of some good hearts after taking the hint as āmaybe this is the sign of my lifeā
I was expecting that last minute, Rad and Frisky had bought the house, the family would still move but it would be symbolic the house becoming home to a new family.
I often think about all the dominoes that had to fall in the right order to get to this point in my life. This episode is a testament to how I see my life.
I cried at the end. Very good episode.
My mom forgot it was on today when I asked her if sheād watched it yet.. The only way I can describe it is a āf%#***g rollercoaster.ā Kids were laughing while Iām holding back the ugly cries.
What about Brandy being pregnant and the humor we find that the realtor is Bucky (from Banditās school story during āDragonā)ā¦
All the feels. So many tears. š
My kiddo wanted to watch Dragon before bed last night, and that's where I made the connection. On your next re-watch of "The Sign," you'll notice how Bandit DESPISES talking to him. It's subtle until it is glaring.
The top ever episodes list sends me.Ā
The majority of the Top 50 are hour-long dramas ("Breaking Bad"/"Better Call Saul", "Game of Thrones") with complex character and plot arcs and a bunch of apparently really well done anime I (as someone who doesn't watch it) had never heard of.
And then there's couple of seven minute long episodes of an Australian cartoon about talking dogs that's honest-to-god aimed at kindergarteners. š¤£
My son (5) burst into tears the second it was over but I still haven't figured out exactly why. He's very upset they decided not to much but I don't know why or what part of that is upsetting.
My daughter is just about to be 2 and she started crying at the end and we have no idea why! I wouldn't think a child that young would understand those emotions but I guess there were just a lot of sad moments and she's very sensitive to people being sad? Very emotionally in-tune kids I guess!
My six year old was in pieces and I think it was happy sadness. Itās a complex emotion to understand that you can be happy and cry and feel sad about it.
It's just next week's episode, "Surprise." You often can find the names of every chapter from one particular season of any show if you search for it on the TV Time app, or in IMDb which is where this screenshot from.
Curse you bluey! I remember crying at fairytale thinking about my former marriageā¦got over it, then you show this episodeā¦reminds me when we were selling our family house when separating. All the memories of our kids in that house. And cue the tears ā¦..
Great episode.
The only thing I struggled with as an adult was suspending the disbelief that the purchasers could just completely undo the purchase because they saw a place with a pool. I mean it was at the point that the Heelers had already packed everything and were heading out the door. The sale is surely final at that point.
There's a "cooling off period" in Queensland of 5 business days where the buyer could pull out of the contract and "maybe" get hit with a penalty of .25% of the sale price. Assuming it's a $1M home, that's $25,000 the buyer might have to eat in order to get their dream house with a pool.
It might actually make financial sense for them, assuming Winton's dad's house is comparably priced ā putting in a new pool at the Heeler residence could easily be $50K+
Man, it was a roller coaster episode. It hit hard for meā¦ as my younger son said, āthatās like us!ā several times during watching, having recently moved from one coast to the other & away from friends and family, for my husbands job promotion. We have lived through a lot of āweāll seeā type of luck, good and bad (mostly good, though).Ā
Our LO was just missing their old home the other day, so this one hit pretty hard for us.Ā We're happy about the move, and it was the right call, but jeez, this episode did not make the explanation come easy for us.
I loved it.
The only thing I struggled with was Bandit wanting a better life for the kids. They live in a beautiful home in a safe and very nice neighborhood, have a great community, they send their kids to private school, etc. The writers have created such an idyllic childhood for the kids it was difficult for me to believe a parent would want āmoreā enough to contemplate taking their kids away from that environment. What would more even look like?
It crossed my mind that maybe Bandit had been made redundant so had to find a new job but the details of that were cut?
I think āmoreā is always relative. Chili has wanted a bigger living space, they might have big equity in the house they want to access, perhaps with the new job thereās an opportunity to move somewhere with a school that fits the higher education they want for bluey and bingo that they otherwise wouldnāt be able to access etc
I get that but I never got the impression they were lacking in money enough to give up the community and lifestyle they had built to chase more money. That doesnāt seem to gel with their vibe haha. Though maybe thatās the point, that itās easy to lose sight of what really matters, even for the best of people (dogs).
Itās a small critique in what was a brilliant episode.
There have been several episodes where both Chili and Bandit complain about little things around the house that they don't like. Bandit's brothers also seem very well off, and I imagine he plays a little grass is greener when he compares himself to them. (We know he does this given the hammer barn episode.) Even something small in the episode, but the sheep dogs mentioned them not having a pool, which I imagine is more the norm in Australia.
They have always seemed to arrive at life being pretty good at the end of those episodes though.
Iām probably projecting myself onto their circumstances. I live in Brisbane, in the no frills one bathroom version of their house, in a middle ring suburb, not nearly as prestigious. The Heelers are aspirational from my perspective and yet I wouldnāt move cities to earn twice as much money now that my kids are settled in school and we have built a little community around us.
The pool is especially a thing for people moving from interstate to Brisbane I think. Everyone moving from Victoria to Brisbane (and there have been many in recent years) wants a pool. There is one pool on my block but then again, Iām not in a ārichā area (though my house will cost you $1M because our housing market is broken).
I think a big part of the more mature b plot was "money can't buy happiness" and that just because the new job would likely pay better didn't mean that it would improve on their life at all
I think the big problem is the house is the TARDIS, which makes it hard to comprehend that the house is really small.
There are the occasional shot where you see a Birds Eye view (there is a good shot of it in The Sign) of the whole house, and it is incredibly small.
So if begs the question: is the house big or small? Iām going to lean toward the home is too small, and as a parent who had to do the exact same thing (move because our first place was too small), I can completely understand.
As a guy who lived in about 15 different homes as a kid, this one hit hard. I had to explain to my 7 year old that dad was crying because one of the things that makes me happiest is that he has gotten to grow up in the same place.
We're in the process of buying our forever home. I moved 5 or 6 times as a kid and my kids get to graduate with the friends they'll be making. I'm so excited for them and jealous and proud and it's a bundle of emotions0
I started fighting back ugly cries about halfway through, and tears started leaking towards the end. I'm a 40 year old man. I shouldn't be this caught up in the lives of cartoon dogs.
My problem with the episode is that the message is essentially āif you want it bad enough your parents wont really have to move!!ā
The whole āthings happen but everything is going to be okayā message got thrown out the window at the end. When Bluey was telling bandit that āCalypso said we arenāt going to moveā bandit should have just agreed because essentially thatās what happened.
Yeah sadly the ending really ruined the episode for me. It was building to be a classic about learning on how to accept change and how something that you thought was bad could turn out to be the best thing to happen to you.
Then in the last two minutes they run it all back and just say "JK here is the happy make believe ending" very jarring from a show like Bluey that is normally very grounded to do something so unrealistic.
I really thought this was shaping up to be such an amazing episode to help so many families and kids through those really hard struggles.
I really love this show and watching it with my little one and I think thats why I was so disappointed and sad about the ending
See though, I dont think this way at all. Its not that Bluey got her way or anything, its Bandit finally listening to the rest of the household.
Chili went along with jt because she supports him, but she never wanted to leave.
Bluey didnt want to lose her friends and Bingo didnt really understand.
Bandit thought that this was something he was supposed to do. Get the bigger better job with more money but after seeing his brother and Frisky work things out followed by the sale falling through, he realized that this was nkt what he wanted after all.
Basically all the pieces fell into place to help Bandit understand what He wanted also.
This is how I interpreted it as well. He let the momentum of selling the house get the better of him. When the universe gave him an opportunity he took that as a sign to stay in their house be-damned the extra money he would get.
This is how I see it too. I was in the camp of not liking it before, but it's clearly been on Bandit's mind for a while now. It was not moving out of necessity, but because it's what his heart was telling him at the time. He wanted what was best for his family
But he got lucky, and got the chance to change his mind after it had all set in. I think that's worth something
Exactly this. Our kids love bluey and we're going to be moving in the next few years. Like bandit and chili, we live in a nice house, in a nice neighborhood, with a good group of friends around us but my wife and I feel like a move is necessary in the not too distant future.
Selfishly I wanted the move to happen so that we could use it to help explain it to them and they had a story they could relate to with it. It would suck because we all love their friends and family on the show. We were definitely sad when the camera panned out and we saw the for sale sign last episode but all week long I was thinking "this will be good for them so they can relate to a character they know and love when the time comes. Then bam. The rug was pulled.
It was still a good episode but yeah. For a show that takes on some very heavy subjects, they really went for a pretty unrealistic plot twist at the end of this one when they could have helped a lot of kids get through a difficult time with it.
The sign wasn't just about the physical for sale sign in the episode.
The sign *also* referred to the metaphorical signs in the episode. The penny that bluey found was a sign of good luck. The butterfly that pointed chili to frisky's location was a sign. There were probably others I missed along the way, but the last sign was the couple backing out of the deal. Bandit was very hesitant and unsure of his decision to move the family, and when he got the call from the real estate agent that the other couple didn't want to buy the house, he understood it as a sign from the universe that the move wasn't a good idea, and he listened. The phone call was the final sign of the episode, followed by the removal of the physical sign.
I don't feel like it was entirely unrealistic. Bandit talked to Rad about his own potential move, and Rad said that he'd just get a new job so he could stay. Bandit seemed to think on this idea a bit as they talked.
I highly recommend the Daniel tiger special for this. A side character moves in and itās very positive, she struggles with her emotions at times but she finds her feet with her new friends.
And I totally get that bandit finally understood what her wanted but they could have done this in a way that didnāt harm kids that were about to move. Like maybe he got the offer, accepted it, they tell the kids and the kids are sad, then the wedding happens just before they put the house up on the market and they realise they canāt go through with it. They could even still have a āsignā but make it an āexpressions of interestā sign instead.
It's been a bit. Now that you mention it, I recall the move being a central theme as well so probably will want to take a peek again in the next few years. Appreciate the reminder!
Same. We're a military family and will have to prepare our toddler for her first move next year. I was so excited to have an episode to use as a teaching tool about how this transition can be sad, scary, but also exciting and magical and that everything will be OK. But now I honestly might just not let our kid watch this one.
Also, I was bummed that they gave Brandy a pregnancy in another fairy tale ending rather than stick to the meaningful lessons and opportunities in her original story.
Definitely agree. Lovely and well thought out episode, but as someone who moved a bunch when I was a kid, I really wanted this to be about helping the kids work through the change.
It presented to children the idea that houses are āpart of the familyā. Thatās a very cavalier message to give children because in real life a house is a thing and itās subject to change when the need arises.
this! especially because in the one episode Bandit says 'nothing lasts forever' when they're cleaning out gutters .. you'd think they would have followed through with that sentiment instead of 'no one actually wants to move so we won't even though moving means a better life for us all'
this episode doesn't feel like it has a proper message at allllllllllll.
Anyone who's mad that they're not moving don't realize that was never going to happen. The show is excellent at continuity, and there were always signs in past episodes that this is where Bluey and Bingo spent their entire childhoods. The one I think of the most is Bingo and her best friend graduating together.
Great episode. My only criticism is that they made Brandy pregnant which I feel takes away from the impact of the onesie episode, and seems like a bit of a cop out. Still, I'm excited to meet a new cousin!
I didnāt really like the message that episode sends. Not wanting to spoil it for anyone but thatās just part of life and something kids are not going to be able to talk their parents out of.
I actually really thought they were going to do the move bc itās such a common kid thing to have to deal with. Though from an actual production standpoint point I totally understand not doing it. But if they had, I would have been incredibly sad, but gotten used to the new home too
Man I never cry because of movies, but this time I was so close crying in frot of my girls, needed to distract myself using my phone. When Bandit said that he only wants the best for his family but not really knowing thats the hardest part of being a parent.
Bro, that episode got me. I cried at the bit where Bingo found out that they won't be living in the house after it was sold. I was not mentally prepared for that.
I heard that this show is gonna be put on indefinite hiatus until further notice because they're working on a new show at the moment, but they might have plans for season 4 but for now, Bluey the series is taking a break because Ludo Studio is exhausted.
I really loved this. And I think part of loving it was that we could get to see the adults be adults. Seeing them get frustrated and stressed made it all more real. This episode hit really close to home for me. It was amazing.
Husband has never cried at an episode. Has cried each of the three times he's watched it today (b/c of course it's an inconvenience to all the kids to be AROUND each other at the same time lol)
It's all very well that they stayed in the house, but WHAT ABOUT THEIR FURNITURE? What about Bandit's new job? WHAT ABOUT THE HOUSE THEY WERE MOVING INTO???
I may have missed stuff from laughing/crying and having my stupid damn kids climbing on me to get in the way of me watching my stories.
I definitely reckon it has a good chance of equaling sleepytime in terms of how well it's liked
Just watched Sleepytime again with the wee one last night. So good.
Yeah nothing will beat sleepytime for me. It's such an amazing visual feast on top of what it's about

Sleepy time blew me away when I first watched it. Literally one of the best cartoon episodes ever
The Sign is just so good.
I would put it third behind Sleepytime and Cricket.
Cricket just ruins me and my husband and we are Canadian with not a single tie to cricket. The quiet determination and sportsmanship is what gets us every time š
SAME. The best five minute sports movie ever. Like submit it to the Oscars as a short. Give it all the Emmys.
We're also Canadian and that shit makes me sob uncontrollably. And it's like an ugly sob.
I'd add baby race to that. Gets my wife every damn time
I am a 41 year old man. I SHOULD NOT BE CRYING SO MUCH. This hit waaaay too close to home.
40, kid is watching it over and over and the emotions hit every time when the song comes in.
37 year old dad here and me, my wife and my 6 year old daughter just sat on the couch and let the tears flow. It was a lot!
Watched it this morning again. 40 year old childless adult (a Brandy situation) as soon as that song hit I lost it
What got me was brandy being preggo. That hit way close to home.

What was the deal with him āfinding himselfā in India?
I had a grandpa Bob that up and left. Wanted to travel, but grandma didn't want to leave the kids and grandkid. So he left by himself and basically went full ghost. The real answer is that the voice actor got COVID and had a number of pretty serious health problems that preempted him doing the show
Dude seriously.
43 and same here. It reminded me of when I moved my family 2 years ago. Leaving all our family and friends behind. :(
Yep, def cried and my kid also said they didn't want to watch that one anymore cuz it was too sad haha

I hope they got to hang onto whatever mortgage rate they had. Interest rates on the new house wouldāve been crazy.
I CRIED so much
Omg same. My husband came into the living room after it was over and saw me crying on the couch and was like... Bluey? He knows me too well haha. Incredible episode.
Why wasnāt he watching and crying too?! I certainly was (Iām the husband) and my 7yo thought I was fake crying, then realised the tears were real

Both my partner and I burst into tears, though at different points!
The coin was such a plot twist I knew they would never leave the house. The house is iconic, and so are their neighbours. I thought it would have happened after Bandit talked to Rad after the wedding toasts.
They couldn't leave, because we already know Bingo and Lila were best friends at least till college.
Uni š not college.
yeah, you are right. funny how I automatically used US term despite not being American myself.
I love that winston now has 3 siblings
āMy mom doesnāt like my dad anymoreā āOur mom likes your dadā I really enjoyed this background plot this season it was very well executed as a slow burn but it was also easy to miss at first
For a little while, TV Shop was my favorite episode because of the Winton's dad/Terriers' mom subplot.
That house is going to be banana town. That's a lot of crazy in one place
Winton! :)
Lol u right and darn autocorrect!!
I didn't even catch that until my second viewing.
When an episode makes me cry, it gets a 10/10. This episode got a 10/10.
That Calypso story is a Chinese idiom! I love that they also drew the story with some Eastern influences
Wasn't all of Bumpy and the wise old Wolfhound a parody of some story from Buddha?
[this is calypso's story](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_old_man_lost_his_horse) I use it ALL THE TIME in my therapy sessions. And YES [it's a buddhist tale](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kisa_Gotami) of a woman finding white mustard seeds from a family who has never experienced death.
Bluey is quoted in the pop culture section of the Wikipedia article you linked. Nice surprise
I thought bandit would change mind half-way through the show after seeing frisbyband her husband gave up the plan to move to west coast. It would be another cliche, I thought, parents thinking money isnt everything for kids blahblah But the show surprised me: if it werent bc of the coin, it would be over for everything And this is exactly like life: a lot of times, our life is changed not because anyone stood up and became a hero, it was the chain reaction of a lot of trivial stuffs, with the help of some good hearts after taking the hint as āmaybe this is the sign of my lifeā
I was expecting that last minute, Rad and Frisky had bought the house, the family would still move but it would be symbolic the house becoming home to a new family.
Same
Thats what I thought too! I swore that was gonna happen!
I often think about all the dominoes that had to fall in the right order to get to this point in my life. This episode is a testament to how I see my life. I cried at the end. Very good episode.
Calypso (voiced by Megan Washington) sang the song at the end, Lazarus Drug, tieing it all together so nicely.
We are on our fifth watch. My kid loves the wedding part and the moving part. My wife and I just take turns quietly crying in the kitchen lol
My mom forgot it was on today when I asked her if sheād watched it yet.. The only way I can describe it is a āf%#***g rollercoaster.ā Kids were laughing while Iām holding back the ugly cries.
Binoclears according to muffin š
What about Brandy being pregnant and the humor we find that the realtor is Bucky (from Banditās school story during āDragonā)ā¦ All the feels. So many tears. š
OMG I DIDNāT EVEN REALIZE ABOUT BUCKY.
Apparently there was a list of episodes to rewatch because of callbacks, and Dragon was one of them because of Bucky.
My kiddo wanted to watch Dragon before bed last night, and that's where I made the connection. On your next re-watch of "The Sign," you'll notice how Bandit DESPISES talking to him. It's subtle until it is glaring.
Itās funny because I picked up on Banditās disdain, but I thought it was just because that guy was incredibly annoying with all the nicknames š
9.9 is underrated
I currently want a bigger house. My wife loves our house. We were sobbing.
Time for an addition!
āWeāll seeā š
Question does anyone know what the name of the song that plays at the end of the sign is called ?
Lazarus Drug by Megan Washington (Calypso)
Ok thank you so much
Lazarus Drug. Sung by Meg Washington, who voices Calypso.
That's insane that Bluey is one of the highest rated shows of all time for IMDb
The top ever episodes list sends me.Ā The majority of the Top 50 are hour-long dramas ("Breaking Bad"/"Better Call Saul", "Game of Thrones") with complex character and plot arcs and a bunch of apparently really well done anime I (as someone who doesn't watch it) had never heard of. And then there's couple of seven minute long episodes of an Australian cartoon about talking dogs that's honest-to-god aimed at kindergarteners. š¤£
"Aimed at kindergarteners" "It's really a show for the parents." -my sister's friend's mum
It's a parenting show kindergartners unwittingly rope their parents into watching, lol.Ā

I mean it made me cry as much as Sleepy Time did.
I cried more at The Sign than any other episode. Literally cried through almost the entire thing.
Well deserved, that episode is peak fiction
I cried like a little baby and Iām proud of that
My son (5) burst into tears the second it was over but I still haven't figured out exactly why. He's very upset they decided not to much but I don't know why or what part of that is upsetting.
Because it was happy sad? Kids gets stuff. My 3 year old was cheering when Dad was pulling out the sign.
Yeah I'm sure it's some emotional connection he's making that he just can't articulate to me.
He may have noticed chili crying when she tackles bandit.
My daughter is just about to be 2 and she started crying at the end and we have no idea why! I wouldn't think a child that young would understand those emotions but I guess there were just a lot of sad moments and she's very sensitive to people being sad? Very emotionally in-tune kids I guess!
My 5 year old's comment during the closing montage: "This is a really sad song."
My little boy who just turned 3 started sobbing when Bingo finally realised they were leaving. Made me bawl even more.
My six year old was in pieces and I think it was happy sadness. Itās a complex emotion to understand that you can be happy and cry and feel sad about it.
My 7 year old was still working on sorting out his feelings when we left for school this morning. Little man was in shambles all morning.
Too low for me liking. It should be a 99.9.
Hm, what about the 50th episode on the screenshot?! Is it out yet? "Surprise"!
Out April 21st. Says in the picture.
It's just next week's episode, "Surprise." You often can find the names of every chapter from one particular season of any show if you search for it on the TV Time app, or in IMDb which is where this screenshot from.
I think they (and me, and others) thought this was the last episode for some time!
Same, I was 100% this is the finale.
It had major series finale vibes. I'm glad to have read in this reddit thread that season 4 is planned.
I hadn't even noticed there was another episode coming out!!! This is great!
Curse you bluey! I remember crying at fairytale thinking about my former marriageā¦got over it, then you show this episodeā¦reminds me when we were selling our family house when separating. All the memories of our kids in that house. And cue the tears ā¦..
The return of grandpa Bob š
The Sign is the only Bluey episode that actually made me cry. 10/10.
What I did expect: a wedding and moving house What I did not expect: An emotional FATALITY
The better life wasn't about the area, it was the money.
Yeah, when he said he's going to earn much more money I was like "dude, you are already upper middle class, you don't have to move".
Higher score than The Godfather. Just let that sink in
Nice I get to watch this with my daughter tonight
We could be looking at a top 10 on imdbs all time rated show episodes. If it stays as a 9.9 that would be insane
Ghost Basket being only at 8.1 is a tragedy and needs to be addressed.
#It. Doesn't. Matter. What. Others. Think. If. You. Enjoyed. It. *(yes, I meant to type it out like that.)*
I really wanna watch it,but I canāt because of country where I live.
I think this is the first time America gets to watch new Bluey before New Zealand
Totally deserves it, too. Right up there with Cricket, Sleepytime, Space, Rain, Onesies, Camping, Baby Race, Dragon, and Copycat
Donāt forget Grandad! Thatās the episode that makes me cry the hardestā¦until this one lol.
I mean I signed up for an IMDb account just to vote this a deservedly 10/10.
"This is the best day of all my life" -Bluey
We'll see
What was the name of the real estate agent? He wasnāt the kid from Bandits class in Dragon was he?
Bucky Dunstin! 100%
Bucky Dunstan ā he was!
I started fighting back ugly cries about halfway through, and tears started leaking towards the end. I'm a 40 year old man. I shouldn't be this caught up in the lives of cartoon dogs.
My problem with the episode is that the message is essentially āif you want it bad enough your parents wont really have to move!!ā The whole āthings happen but everything is going to be okayā message got thrown out the window at the end.
He wanted what was best for his family But he got lucky, and got the chance to change his mind after it had all set in.
Similar boat here. Have you watched Inside Out?
Lovely and well thought out episode, but as someone who moved a bunch when I was a kid, I really wanted this to be about helping the kids work through the change.
the ending ruined the whole thing for me. made me feel like shit for selling the house my kid took his first steps in because I wanted better for us.
It presented to children the idea that houses are āpart of the familyā. Thatās a very cavalier message to give children because in real life a house is a thing and itās subject to change when the need arises.
this! especially because in the one episode Bandit says 'nothing lasts forever' when they're cleaning out gutters .. you'd think they would have followed through with that sentiment instead of 'no one actually wants to move so we won't even though moving means a better life for us all' this episode doesn't feel like it has a proper message at allllllllllll.
The reason it had a happy ending is ābecause life will give us enough sad ones.ā
Bingo. *pun intended* lol. What a brilliant show :ā)
I actually really thought they were going to do the move bc itās such a common kid thing to have to deal with. Though from an actual production standpoint point I totally understand not doing it. But if they had, I would have been incredibly sad, but gotten used to the new home too
As it should.
Biggest takeaway for me on this post is the next episode. Is there another episode??????
Yeah it's "Surprise", already on imdb
I didnāt cry but definitely felt like I was hit with flood of emotions. It was SO GOOD!!!
What an episode of television. Our entire family of four just cried together. What a thing.
I cried the whole time. I am a 44 year old mom of two. This had so many emotions.
Just finished it. Our family moved 879 miles last summer. Both of us loved our old house and are currently still sobbing 10 min later.
Winston and the Terriers in one householdā¦
jesus christ it came out yesterday. calm down.
The guy who gave it a 6 is a bit salty cause the episode didn't align with what was going on in his life. Haha
Can't wait for surprise
We just watched this and I may have cried. Banditās love for his family just hit me in the right way tonight. This is definitely a good one.
Any release date for the US?
Itās on Disney+ now and I think it aired on Disney Jr tonight.
Man I never cry because of movies, but this time I was so close crying in frot of my girls, needed to distract myself using my phone. When Bandit said that he only wants the best for his family but not really knowing thats the hardest part of being a parent.
Watched it first thing this morning. My husband and I bawled while my 3yo simply enjoyed it.
Bro, that episode got me. I cried at the bit where Bingo found out that they won't be living in the house after it was sold. I was not mentally prepared for that.
It was SO good!! We need more longer Bluey episodes like this one!
This episode was perfection.
Itās so good.
Husband has never cried at an episode. Has cried each of the three times he's watched it today (b/c of course it's an inconvenience to all the kids to be AROUND each other at the same time lol)
Just mopping the tears from my eyes watching this episode š„¹
Wait what's Surprise I didn't know there would be a third episode guess that's why it's called Surprise
I cried and Iām dead inside lol plus it was just so well written with its little plot twist with the coin and the message throughout. So good
