Fuck them. It's a Bob Dylan sub reddit and they want to get all modern? Fuck you, children of the future! I remember when all of this used to be fields and Bob Dylan wasn't a hologram.
How crazy is that. One of the most respected artists in all of recorded music, has an entire discography of unreleased material equal to and often better than his released discography.
The fact he recorded Series of Dreams and said to himself, “nah, not putting this on the album” is insane. Oh Mercy would have gone from good to great.
Read his 1969 Rolling Stone interview recently and I chuckled when his response to the question of how many unreleased songs he'd recorded was 'Well, we try to use them all. There may be a few lying around'
A more important album, but he does have folk /protest era well covered.
Oh Mercy is unique, in my opinion. Nothing sounds like it. I know Labois produced TooM as well, but it's very different I'd say
New Morning is fantastic - that would be my next choice. Other than that, some of the bootlegs/lives - Springtime in NY, Vol 1-3 ‘61-‘91, Side Tracks, More Blood, Cutting Edge, Another SP?
If you go record shopping always peek at the G.H. Vol. 1. I found one for $2.99 that had the Milton Glaser poster in it. You never know, you may get lucky.
Freewheelin’ New Morning and Oh Mercy are my next 3 Dylan purchases absolutely.
Oh Mercy is another lp I just never see. My collection is mainly based around what I’ve found in my local record shops.
Btw I was gutted to learn that Groom still waiting at the altar is not on early pressings of Shot of Love. I picked it up a few weeks ago and was shocked to not hear it play during my listen!
Freewheelin, New Morning, Oh Mercy, Together Through Life, and I’d pick up the Sinatra trilogy albums as well. Triplicate in particular is a beautiful album
Strange as it is to say: [Greatest Hits Vol. II](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan%27s_Greatest_Hits_Vol._II#Songs_previously_unreleased_on_LP)
It's got the definitive versions of some bona fide classics not available elsewhere.
Therapy.
No, no, I joke because I love. I mean, I am in this group, too. But too much Dylan isn't always great for your mental health.
Im in a difficult stage of my life right now, lots of changes, parenting my parents, career burnout, etc. I listen to a lot of Dylan, but i know i jave to mix it up a bit.
Blood on the Tracks test pressing from Record Store Day a few years back! It’s essential. Oh, also the Basement Tapes Record Store Day release that was put together with Garth’s involvement.
A record player I guess
You win the internet, sir.
Corny ahh comment
What does that mean?
It means your comment was extremely corny
Why?
I didn't downvote it, but it's just an overused clichéd phrase on the Internet
I used it once
Yes. The phrase itself is clichéd. So, any use of it now is seen as cringey. Don't shoot the messenger. I'm only saying why others downvoted you.
Fuck them. It's a Bob Dylan sub reddit and they want to get all modern? Fuck you, children of the future! I remember when all of this used to be fields and Bob Dylan wasn't a hologram.
Freewheelin', New Morning
I never see Freewheelin’ when I go vinyl shopping
My first album so I’m biased……..but it’s a banger. Classic Dylan in the village with no electrics just being youthful Dylan.
I do have Freewheein on vinyl, you do have a great collection. *

I see it all the time, personally
You need the Wilburys in your life.
The Bootleg Series stuff is worth having, almost as much as the studio albums themselves
More than many of the studio albums.
How crazy is that. One of the most respected artists in all of recorded music, has an entire discography of unreleased material equal to and often better than his released discography.
The fact he recorded Series of Dreams and said to himself, “nah, not putting this on the album” is insane. Oh Mercy would have gone from good to great.
i feel the same about "Up To Me", "Abandoned Love", and "Nobody 'Cept You"....it's crazy to me!
Absolutely. Or that he made the song Too Late and then reworked it into Foot of Pride and then didn’t put either of them on Infidels blows my mind.
Read his 1969 Rolling Stone interview recently and I chuckled when his response to the question of how many unreleased songs he'd recorded was 'Well, we try to use them all. There may be a few lying around'
rolling thunder revue
Hard Rain, Oh Mercy.
*Oh Mercy* is the biggest omission here for sure.
Nah, Freewheeling
A more important album, but he does have folk /protest era well covered. Oh Mercy is unique, in my opinion. Nothing sounds like it. I know Labois produced TooM as well, but it's very different I'd say

Down in the Groove
New Morning is fantastic - that would be my next choice. Other than that, some of the bootlegs/lives - Springtime in NY, Vol 1-3 ‘61-‘91, Side Tracks, More Blood, Cutting Edge, Another SP?
All the box sets.
If you go record shopping always peek at the G.H. Vol. 1. I found one for $2.99 that had the Milton Glaser poster in it. You never know, you may get lucky.
Shadow Kingdom
I have shelves and a record player 😂
I think Oh Mercy (1989) would be a great addition, as would Dylan and the Band's live album, Before the Flood (1974).
Freewheelin’ New Morning and Oh Mercy are my next 3 Dylan purchases absolutely. Oh Mercy is another lp I just never see. My collection is mainly based around what I’ve found in my local record shops. Another copy of Blood On The Tracks. And then another one. And then another one. And then for good measure, another one. And then maybe one more.
Street Legal!
It’s there, hidden between Desire and Slow train :)
Freewheelin, New Morning, Oh Mercy, Together Through Life, and I’d pick up the Sinatra trilogy albums as well. Triplicate in particular is a beautiful album
Yes they tend to get a bit of slack the trilogy but I actually enjoy listen to Bob croon.
Damn that is a great collection! 'Pat Garett and Billy the Kid' would be a good addition. 'Final Theme' is one of my favorites
Strange as it is to say: [Greatest Hits Vol. II](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Dylan%27s_Greatest_Hits_Vol._II#Songs_previously_unreleased_on_LP) It's got the definitive versions of some bona fide classics not available elsewhere.
Freewheelin’, Self Portrait, New Morning.

Nope, everyone else puts BoB in the wrong direction. I put it in the right direction, with the spine to my left.

Christmas In The Heart
The Freewheelin’ spot sticks out like a missing front tooth lol
Self Portrait. It's better than what the critics said in 1970.
A life. It’s a joke. They call me Jokerman.
World Gone Wrong!!! and Christmas in the Heart, as is required in any true Dylanologist's collection
Greatest Hits Vol II. Or Side Tracks, which has the best side of Greeatest Hits 2 plus a lot of other great obscure stuff. And New Morning.
I don't see Oh, Mercy. That's a stone cold classic
No Freewheeling? Sacrilege.
Curious to know your favorite three?
My top 3 in no particular order are Infidels, Time out of mind and Love and theft
Appreciate it. I’m not very familiar with Love and Theft but excited to check it out now.
Get the box set and stuff rough and rowdy ways into it and you'll he set, I did that twice
You have 24 of the 46 core Dylan albums. Get the other 22 and be happy.

Blood on the Tracks test pressing from Record Store Day a few years back! It’s essential. Oh, also the Basement Tapes Record Store Day release that was put together with Garth’s involvement.
Oh Mercy would like to ask why it wasn't invited to the party.
Believe me I want it because it’s a great album. Long black coat is a great song.
Street Legal
