I’ve meaning to make a post about this. Someone on here said Bob wasn’t happy with Doug’s guitar playing. Might be the reason why Jimmie Vaughan played so much at the last show in Austin earlier this year. I’ve been wondering what the scuttlebutt was.
i have no insider info at all so please take this with a grain of salt but at the asheville show bob seemed very displeased with jerry's drumming. several times during every song he'd lean back and wave his hand making a "chill out with that" type gesture in order to calm the drums down. not to hate but he was right in doing so bob's music is too intimate for loud drums
Interesting.. I was at the second night in Louisville and there was some similar confusion/frustration (at least it appeared to me) during "Big River".

I was thinking the same! I think a Sexton/Britt combo would be pretty cool.
Or if Blake Mills can take time off performing with Joni. He was great on RARW
