It’s also not easy for a pass to be this accurate this consistently. Part of a shooters motion is to account for variance in receiving the ball and this motion the pass has to be near perfect
It’s an extremely difficult in-game shot. Even when guys do something close to this, idk if I have literally ever seen a release point so quick from *this* high.
Pretty easy to picture Steph hitting about a thousand of these in a row in practice
(Still a ridiculous shot for a bench player to pull out in the finals)
The pass is equally critical. You can’t just yuk it at a dude with thoughts and prayers. The teams that succeed at shooting the 3 well also pass to open shooters well. A pass at the knees and a pass in the pocket is the difference between wide open and closed out
Shooters slump occasionally. He's clearly proven that he's a great one and him missing a few shots in the ECF did not change my mind one bit
It's also easy to justify playing him when he can do things other than just shooting (defense + he's been good when he's had to put the ball on the floor)
Like most bench players it depends on the matchup. I think the Pacers just played too fast for him on defense and he could never get in a rhythm against them on offense. I think he will be a lot more effective against Dallas.
This is the way. He was never a bad player he just was a net negative against the pacers because they play way faster and have more lateral quickness. He's a solid defender but not laterally quick, and his shot wasn't falling.
How are people calling that 'no dip' though?
He clearly bends his knees just before the catch.
It was just the result of a good pass in the pocket.
I also love those kind of passes, where you need to do nothing but shoot.
The trick was mostly in recognizing the pass was in the pocket, so he could start his shooting motion before the catch.
Hauser was awesome for us yesterday. With Hauser playing like that we are unbeatable.
Fact I been saying it but any game Hauser hits 2+ 3’s is an automatic W. The rest was best for Hauser
I also just really think the pace of the Pacers series was too much for him. The Mavs are just right.
Been waiting for him to return to form in the playoffs. Couldn’t have happened at a better time, hopefully he keeps it up.
We need a nuclear Hauser game where he goes 5/6 from 3
Hauser locking down Luka 1 on 1 was beautiful, picking his pocket at the top of the key
Imagine being in the opposing corner from the Celtics and having to deal with Hauser, Pritchard and Al or Tingus Pingus. We're very lucky.
The seams on that pass were PERFECT That was Jrue, iirc
I saw this clip EVERYWHERE on nba Twitter. Go Hauser.
It’s true, I’m surprised u/Theis159 didn’t want to [chime in with the proper source](https://www.reddit.com/r/bostonceltics/s/wZTkSAMInS)
Come on man, I’m not that obnoxious right?
Lol all love
It's crazy that more shooters don't use this. Klay and Pat Connaughton are the only two that I cant think of.

Nic Batum does it
Yep, forgot about him.
Joe Ingles did it quite a bit
I also seem to have some unfortunate memories of Duncan Robinson pulling it off against us...
Duncan Robinson
DeAngelo Russell does this from time to time
Duncan robinson literally did it against us in the playoffs lol
Because it's extremely difficult
Hausers shot is slow as shit in 2k..
It really is ridiculously slow, you have to have him come off a pick or a back screen to get his shot off
They literally have him an F- jump shot speed. The exact opposite of his real life jumper, even excluding this perfect shot
You need perfect passing to do this though
It’s impressive but it’s nothing new lot of great shooters in the league through out the years could do this… and practiced it.
I recall Klay Thompson doing this a decent amount, he’s nasty at it
Not many have done it in game. Still a very difficult shot.

This I’ll agree with he caught mid release it seemed very impressive.
There’s been plenty who have done similar things but have different release points on their shot.
Yeah but having a 6’ 7” forward on a 3yr/5.5m contract who can do that while playing good enough defense to stay on the floor isn’t exactly common
Not common at all gotta love the guy.

"In practice"

I used him to show some of the kids I coach how to locate and relocate as a shooter, and how to set up before the catch.
Over millenia, humans will naturally evolve to be 12 feet tall when future humans stretch themselves trying to do this and the Kornet Kontest.
I was in shock when he made that.
That's an insanely efficient play wow. Pass to catch to shot.

That is straight outta anime, Midorima style
I yelled so loud on one of his made threes that my daughter got scared and started crying
So does Hauser suck and should never been on the floor or is he our secret weapon? Hard to tell based on the reactions on this sub on any given day

Bro is a high iq deadeye shooter with good size & underrated defensive skills on a bargain contract. Who thinks he sucks?!
Reread some game threads from the past series. It was the Player Haters Ball roast of Hauser like he should be playing middle school ball.
Ignore the people who think he's useless. Most of the time, they don't know basketball.

Lets talk about that pass too
He was locked in.
duncan robinson hit one of these against us a couple years ago
Never heard of her.
Kevin McHale was somewhere proud af when he saw this
I watched this game with a friend of mine who coaches basketball and he was in awe of this shot.

Then it's pre-dipping, I guess? But I think the big thing is that, with the ball, he is just going up.
