I really like that Jaylen is *smart*.Was on his high school's chess team and decided to consult the NBAPA to teach and avise him about contracts so he wouldn't need to hire an agent. I have a lot of confidence that he and Brad will quickly develop a lot of mutual respect and I hope Brad'll be able to round off the rough edges of his game in short order.

Eisenhorn76

He was actually the captain of his high school chess team, not just a member.

BlackThatch

The more people talk about his brains, the more he sounds like LeBron. Let's just hope he never acquires that utterly fucking idiotic arrogance and ignorance of LeBron's.

BeefySwan

Wdym? Jaylen still isn't smart lol. Also why are you on a 7 year old post

DeepThought936

Probably because of the NBA playoffs where Jaylen is playing. You couldn't figure that out?

BeefySwan

You're saying you're on a 7 year old post because the person it's about is playing right now? Wtf are you even talking about lol, you're weird af

DeepThought936

No... read again. You asked why someone was on a 7-year-old post. I said they are probably on the post because of the NBA playoffs (that just ended). When you Google Jaylen Brown, this thread comes up. He decided to comment on an old thread based on how well Jaylen was playing. He got the NBA Finals MVP. Got it?

BeefySwan

If you Google Jaylen Brown, this thread absolutely does not show up lol. Even if you Google "Jaylen Brown Reddit" it's all more recent posts

DeepThought936

It does.

DeepThought936

You have to Google Jaylen Brown chess.

BeefySwan

Lol okay man

I really liked this point: "No one is going to leave Kris Dunn or Jamal Murray or Buddy Hield open for threes when you have Jae Crowder and Evan Turner driving into the paint." I think this gets forgotten sometimes, a guy like Brown who could potentially be elite going to the rim (his FT rate was one of his biggest positives) could make our shooters like Bradley, Olynyk, and Jerebko and whoever else we get more effective

d00der

Which is something the C's desperately needed. IT is the only one who can drive effectively. Crowder can and does if he can drop his shoulder ahead of his man, but not with regularity.

[deleted]

To be the cold water, Brown is straight line drives, just like Jeff Green. I don't remember that creating a lot of shot opportunities. On top of that brown is not an exceptional passer like Turner and lacks even half the handle that Evan has.

champagnencampaign

Brown is pretty creative with his drives. Uses hesitation moves and changes directions a lot, definitely not just straight line.

Hate Celticsblog. Used to be a member for years till one of the mods started deleting my comments for no obvious reason. He just didn't like me because I kept stating that Kelly was bad (which at the time was an enormous understatement). Eventually I called out the mods and asked for any reason as to why literally half my comments would end up deleted, got a pre-ban warning to stop questioning mods. Bunch of communists. As for Jaylen - good read.

_Juntao

yeah, ive been a member since 2005, with two different accounts. the rules are a bit too strict now-a-days. i remember one of my comments being deleted because i used a cuss word. it wasn't even a bad curse word either. i understand keeping a family-friendly atmosphere, but when comments are getting deleted over people using words like hell or damn its a bit too excessive. sb nation is generally okay though.

BlackThatch

This family friendly atmosphere though, the senior members (and I'm not talking about long-time members, just people who watched Larry Bird live) get to say whatever they want. When you state your opinion, you get attacked by older members who go all in to humiliate you by flouncing their old opinion and all you did was state your opinion. You didn't call for being told off by people who get 20 Rec's from their followers no matter what they post. I was there since 2009, not a single problem till December this year. Butthurt Canadians, man. And what's shocking is that I even emailed Jeff Clark to tell him what's going on, no result. Thought higher of him honestly

cabose12

The internet doesn't make bad people, it makes bad people worse. As toxic as Reddit can be, on the smaller subs the fact that you can have conversations rather than YELL fests makes me appreciate it a bit

BlackThatch

Yep. Brotherhoods. This is why hoods exist man!

[deleted]

I left that place a long time ago, like start of the big three times. The community is no fun. Jeff Clark seems like an okay guy but he's strongly religious and that creeps into the moderation and the community, making it like a church supper and saying damn is off limits. I got suspended for a while because I posted a photo of Marco Jaric's supermodel girlfriend in a bikini in a thread about Marco Jaric's supermodel girlfriend. Haha, apparently you can discuss sexy women, but you can't look at them.

Eisenhorn76

Nobody should ever be suspended for pictures of Adriana Lima. That's a bloody crime. Maybe if you posted a picture of Adriana in her victoria's secret angel outfit they wouldn't have banned you /s

BlackThatch

lmao whatttt

smeegyweegy

"intellectual vibe"

TheInfinityOfThought

I'm not happy, moreso because we didn't get Jimmy Butler, but Brown was probably the best choice if we had to make the pick. I'll reserve judgment on whether he is any good until we actually see him play in summer league.

Midas-Whale

> I'm not happy, moreso because we didn't get Jimmy Butler, but Brown was probably the best choice if we had to make the pick What would you have given up for Butler? Cause like Wyc said draft night, the proposed offer from the Bulls that I saw was nothing but a ripoff attempt (something like #3, next years BKN pick, Smart, Crowder, and Bradley.)

fbreaker

Broo look at JB now

This aged really well
