Public transit service is not spectacular on the lower Sunshine Coast. Google Maps transit directions have up to date routing information - consult it carefully before you decide where you're staying if you're not bringing a vehicle. There are other options such as Taxis or [Coastal Rides](https://coastalrides.ca/) but it's definitely a rural area. As others have noted late summer kayaking can be quite spectacular. Try reaching out to [Alpha Adventures](https://www.outdooradventurestore.ca/), [Sunshine Coast Kayaking](https://www.sunshinecoastkayaking.ca/), or [Pedals and Paddles](https://pedalspaddles.com/).

1-Yes 2-No public transport is scarce to non existent 3-Unless you have your own transportation you'll be hitchhiking-does that appeal?

I can say that paddling Sechelt Inlet in Late September is pretty freaking glorious when the weather is kind. There are a couple of guest houses and some kayak rental places up in there, as well as a provincial park with a nice campground, and some spaces accessible only by boat. Note that the bears are hungry and the mink are impertinent.

The buses will only get you so far, most of the good trails and places worth seeing are not on bus routes. I would recommend renting a car.
