Thereās artists who draw anthro animals with vaguely human anatomy and get mistaken for artist who are trying to sexualize monkeys. There are real nsfw people who get kicked off the sub but there are a *lot* of innocents caught in the fire too
I'm almost certain that probably 90% of the sub members don't actually care about the sexualized content that's being posted and just want it properly nsfw tagged.
I had to unfollow the sub because I'd be scrolling my feed in public and see a barely clothed big booba monke, then scramble to either scroll past it or cover my screen.
It may be difficult and subjective to classify what's inheritanly sexual in nature but I think that it's pretty easy to gauge what is or isn't socially acceptable to be looking at in public, and that's all that I'm sure most of us want.
I do want to say that these artists are incredibly talented and it's unfortunate that so many of them have been harassed, but I also have to admit that it's kind of selfish on their part to not just tag their work NSFW just so they can get a few more internet points than they might otherwise.

Itās not just artists. I have seen new players on here ask simple questions and never get an answer. People just troll the crap out of them. I originally joined to ask questions about multiplayer and found out fast this is not a supportive sub.
Just use the nsfw tag. If you donāt, mods should place the nsfw tag and warn you. Itās not hard moderating, nor is it hard following the rules of the sub, which are now being updated from mods that care. Itās a shared, mutual responsibility, and the nsfw tag exists for anything that would be even remotely questionable for the work environment. That canāt be misconstrued, even for arts sake.
People still dont understand what nsfw means it doesnt have to be actual porn but if its something you wouldnt want to open in public and have other people see, its nsfw and that certainly applies to brickell in a bathing suit for the most infamous example but many other posts
Thatās why we want to change the rule. Everyone has a different interpretation of what is NSFW, which leads to what weāve seen in the past 36 hours.
With a rule like āno NSFWā or āno sexualised or suggestive contentā, everyone will judge differently what does or doesnāt break the rule. Someone might think that an art piece is suggestive while someone else will find it completely fine. The problem lies in the fact that there is no common base line thus, disagreements occur. We are currently waiting for the green light of the community management team at NK to change the rules. This is still their subreddit after all.
Maybe use an exact definition of NSFW to go along with it to avoid confusion because some people have it in their head that if thereās not hardcore sex itās not nsfw which is very much not the case
Exact definitions of NSFW are impossible. Simple things like āfeet are visibleā or āfacial expressionā can either be completely tame or very sexual. Iām pretty sure in an actual court case the judge said āI canāt define pornographic, but I know it when I see itā.
