Looks like it can be an engorged tick of some sort. Asian long horned or a brown dog. Do you have any pets? Or have you went on a stroll in a field or meadow lately?

Ah yeah I was at a friends place with cats the other day, and also pet some kittens at a bodega who probably weren’t the cleanest!

Federal-Emphasis-934

Yeah, it’s super hard to tell with this photo it would be much easier if we could see the head and legs, to be honest.

I just posted a pic of another one I found in the comments! And I’ll grab a clearer one

My money is on a burrow bug nymph. [comparison](https://bugguide.net/node/view/16109/bgimage)

I think you’re right, thank you! Would make sense — there’s a ficus in my room they could hanging out in.

help I’ve looked at so many images and still can’t tell. Currently packing everything in my room into plastic bags just in case. SOS

schizeckinosy

No…. But I don’t know what it actually is.

potential-person

Whew, thank you. I’m on the garden level so there are lots of critters. Hopefully it’s a friendly bug/not a pest!

Update I just found another one on the floor in the same area. Hoping this isn’t some kind of infestation… https://preview.redd.it/ls6ex5wevebd1.jpeg?width=1659&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0c70bbbd450e6ec7bfba964cb89243c28a8c7ff

WhiskeySnail

Burrowing bug nymph is a really good guess and totally could be, given that you're finding multiple it could also be a stink bug nymph, Pentatomidae. They lay their eggs in little clusters and once they hatch hatch spread out, so one may have laid an egg on your wall or something. Just by chance! They don't infest homes! Just giving other options, totally could be a burrowing bug.

WhiskeySnail

Just found out burrowing bugs are also Pentatomidae which would explain why their nymphs look so similar! Cool!
