I think he deadass means a tea kettle I might be wrong tho
Edit: there was a tea kettle
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pcmag.com/news/no-gpus-neweggs-latest-shuffle-event-offers-tea-kettles-other-random-items%3Famp%3Dtrue
I want to believe that was just a way to weed out some bot accounts, but this is Newegg so maybe they were just tone-deaf enough to raffle off a chance to buy a kettle or $50 Panera gift card.
Not every bot is like that. Some are just basic scripts to enter every Shuffle for every item, or specific items. They don't have to be as sophisticated as you say to enter a Shuffle. They aren't all purchase bots that scour every storefront with API access to inventory levels and purchasing capabilities.
Entering a Shuffle is very simple and bots aren't really an advantage except for not having to remember to do it.
It's not buying anything, though. It's just getting a _chance_ to buy something. The purchase is made (or not) by a human afterwards. There's no downside to a bot entering every shuffle.
My Newegg account dates back to the time of Thunderbirds and Durons, but I was thinking how could Newegg get any worse? Then I saw they became a publicly traded company yesterday...
I actually was selected to purchase a 5800X, but the notification email arrived at 9pm, 2 hours after the purchasing deadline. Result - an empty shopping cart.
Yeah, I'd actually be willing to pay ~$1,100 for a 3080. I just don't want it from a scalper, and I don't want to pay $2,200.
If I can offload the motherboard, great. If not, it can be stored away for potential future use or something.
I think it's fair to call retailers selling over MSRP "retail scalpers". No argument there.
So with that in mind, I'd still be okay with buying from a retailer if it means I am not paying the amount I would pay to an eBay scalper. Although there are still limits. The $1,100 I mentioned is about as high as I am willing to go for a 3080.
It's way more than $250. Unless they're legit trying to sell that 3080 for $1,100. The oros Wi-Fi is like $220 on Amazon. Which would mean the 3080 is $1,100?
You can click the view more or whatever on the item itself and it'll show the price for the part.
The Strix 3080 is definitely like 1100 on its own on newegg.
Just take $50 off and sell it on ebay. Consider it part of the purchase price, as it's better than being scalped for $2000-$3000 elsewhere.
That said, I don't like this market either. One can hope that a crpto crash will occur right around their same time new manufacturing capacity comes online, and that intel gpus are actually competitive.
I got selected for a 3070 FTW3
I saw the text right after I clocked out of work at 2pm. The purchasing window expired as I clocked out.
I’m so done with everything. I used all my luck. Had I gone to the bathroom half an hour before I got off, I would have a 3070 right now.
This is the 4th time I’ve been inches away from a new GPU before something stupid fucks it up for me somehow
I'm asking because I'd like to know if I have a better chance choosing the GPU I'm most interested in, or should I choose a few and hope I get a chance to purchase one.
Just know that you can only win one item per shuffle, even if you select multiple. So if you select a few different GPUs just in the hope of winning anything there's a chance you get one that you didn't necessarily want (if you win at all).
You should select every one that you would be willing to buy.
The only scenario it hurts is if you would have won more than 1 that day. But winning at all is so unlikely you shouldn’t enter fewer items just to avoid.
Also, don’t add something you aren’t going to buy if selected. The ones that don’t get sold end up getting listed on the site and bought by scalpers
Yes that was my strategy. I don't mind getting any 3000 series at this point, and In the very unlikely chance that I am offered more than one, then I'd sell the extra at cost price.
After June they won’t be as good for mining because nvidia is lowering the card hash rate and ETH is starting to move to staking. So hopefully if we’re not picky on what kind we can get a card in the next 6 weeks for a reasonable price.
Don't get your hopes up for one specific product. I've entered a couple dozen shuffles and have been chosen only once, for a $2700 6900 that upon closer inspection wouldn't even fit in my case (with its 360mm AIO radiator), so I didn't buy it. Just enter a bunch and hope you get one.
From the FAQ:
>Yes you may select multiple items. Please note that Newegg will randomly distribute reservations based on how often items were selected in the Shuffle. A maximum of 1 selection per customer event can be granted per Shuffle event.
I interpret this to mean that when you enter you have a certain number of *Entries*. If you select multiple items, your *entries* will be divided amongst those items you selected.
Per other redditors with experience: If you are somehow drawn for multiple items, you will only be allowed to purchase one and that one is randomly selected from your winning entries (you will not be given a choice). e.g. you enter for 3060 and 3070 and somehow win both. Newegg will randomly select one of the two to put into your cart which you will have the option to buy.
That answer lots of my questions. But if I'm understanding this correctly I can only win one choice even I select multiple. And by winning does that mean I'm obligated to make the purchase?
Yes, i believe you can only win 1 item per shuffle. You are not obligated to purchase. If you receive the selection email the winning item will be placed into your cart and you have 2 hrs from then to checkout.
Amen, saw this post 2 hours after it was posted but the shuffle had ended.... Yesterday it was open for legit 12 hours and they didn't even send out email responses.... Fuck Newegg.
Because they're selling crazy numbers of GPUs and no motherboards and PSUs because a huge number of the purchases are just for crypto mining and scalping to crypto miners. So they're trying to offload their bloated PSU and mobo inventories.
retail scalping. if you want a refund on an item, you gotta send every item in the bundle to get the refund. they're forcing you to buy shit that nobody even wants. seriously. if they are gonna do these bundles, they should've at least make the bundle the whole set with a CPU along with it.
I entered on my computer, didn't get a confirmation email, and my phone didn't show as if I had entered at all. Cleared all my browser data for Newegg and signed back in and it acted like I never entered. Entered from my phone, still no confirmation email and my browser is showing as if I haven't entered.
There's something weird going on.
EDIT: Tried entering one more time with my browser and I finally got a confirmation email.
Yeah, I mean I've been making sure I have been entering literally everyday since probably mid way through April, and then maybe twice a week every month before that, almost since it started.
Today was my first win. Kinda threw it away by selecting everything and getting picked for a GPU/mobo combo I didn't actually want but such are the ways of RNGesus. I'll be pickier next time.
My friend is entering for me since I have 0 luck. Week in to helping me he gets picked for the worst combo. That 6700xt and the b550 board that keeps coming up. There was no way I was paying that much money for a 6700xt. It was close to 1500 before tax. If it was the 1440p monitor package I would have maybe thought about it. I have to replace my monitor when I get a new card. It’s dvi @144hz only. No active adapter I’ve tried works with it to convert to display port.
I don't need a 3080. I really don't. But I have a white case that would go great with that.
I can't afford it. I really can't. But it would look so good in my white case.
I'd have to upgrade my power supply with a 3080. I don't want to do that. (But maybe this is a chance to get a white PSU, too.)
Oh, the hell with it. I'm not gonna win anyway, right? (Checks white 3080 and enters shuffle)
[EDIT: For the record, I also checked what I really want and can afford.]
I'm in the same boat as you. I have an all white build I've put together and the last thing I want/need is an Asus strix 3070 WHITE. I knew I wouldn't get it, but the white 3070 yesterday gave me hope. I'll take the 3080 but it's going to be such overkill.
Got struck by lightning last week, won the Sapphire Radeon 6700XT and drink coaster mobo.
GPU was DOA. :0 Had to Karen through Customer Service because they were telling me, "we can send you a replacement when they come back in stock.."
That could be months. AUGHASJKHALJK
and on ebay they are up at $3000-4000 last time I checked. lol.
I bet these originals are about to go even higher in ebay value since the new ones are being gimped.
Why the fuck did this shuffle end after 2 hours of being posted but yesterday's lasted like 10-12 hours.... I'm pissed... So many good cards to have missed out on.
Damn, I was selected for an extremely overpriced 6700XT and mobo that I don't want. This is my first win ever too but I gave up long ago selecting what I really want and just checking everything. What to do...
Same here! The thing is I have a IBP prebuilt with a 3080 coming in "soon" for a total price of $1,900... my status update shows that "The materials needed for the order have been gathered." on 5/21, ahhhhhh! This 6700XT is 1,150 + tax, probably looking at 1,350.
H*** M*** i did selected for a EVGA RTX 3070 for roughly the price of a RTX 3080… Now i m just worried about my poor GM 550w PSU can keep it on with Ryzen 3700X…Thanks OP
Holy crap, I actually won a 6700 XT Eagle?
Now I can pass the 5700 XT to my bro who's on a 480 4G and he can pass his to his a GF on a freaking 750 TI. Problem is I had to pay 890 for it.
Hmm, maybe I can try trading the 5700 XT for a 1660 Super or 3060 plus cash or something?
Or maybe hold on and find a 3060 LHR and sell the 5700 XT on eBay.
Edit: Selling the 5700 XT to my brother for it's MSRP cause I'm not a filthy scalper.
Wow, I actually got selected (first time, entering every day for months).
But, it was for the ASRock RX6700XT and ASRock B550M <- *I honestly don't recall selecting this*, as I've been more invested in the Nvidia cards. Total asking price was $1115. Almost pulled the trigger, but I have zero use for the mobo, and 6700XTs are <$1K NIB via eBay.
It feels good to "win"(?) but something about this just didn't feel right. For me, anyways.
Won the shuffle for the first time after it started. Unfortunately, it was the 6700xt combo with a B550 MB. I did not intentionally select it, might be a misclick on mobile and I did not notice in a hurry.
I would still buy it but the MSRP was $959 which was double the OEM 6700 XT. So, gigabyte is already price gauging in MSRP? By no means a 6700 XT is worth that much. So, ended up not buying it.
Looks like today's shuffle is all Radeon cards and all are being bundled with a Ryzen 5600x and a mobo. Idc, I just need a damn gpu, and the cpu and board is like half of a second build, one for my little cousins who are trying to play Valorant on a laptop they use for school (ouch).
No kettle.. these shuffles just getting worse and worse.
[удалено]
Knowing those idiots they'll probably do a kettle that isn't even compatible with the motherboard

Yeah that was a weird shuffle, bright side I snagged a amd 6700xt!

It honestly makes me want to just step away from the whole scene. Humans were a mistake.
The bundles are because of manufacturers forcing retailers to do this in order to obtain cards. Hardware Unboxed and Gamers Nexus have covered this.
My Newegg account dates back to the time of Thunderbirds and Durons, but I was thinking how could Newegg get any worse? Then I saw they became a publicly traded company yesterday...
Same here. My account is 20 years old with them and every couple of years there's just some further disappointment.
Yeah, but they gave a sweet 20% off auto parts to celebrate. Seriously though, Newegg has gone downhill...a lot.
Atleast you get shuffles, Canada has been screwed out of this.
This is why I stopped shopping at newegg many years ago.
The shuffle is why I started again. :(
Anyone received their rejection email from yesterday’s clown fiesta?
I didn't. I assume my kettle is otw.
I never got a rejection email.
I was left on read.
[удалено]
Using the kettle? Or were you left to your own devices
no i didn't get a rejection at all
They understand that some of us are looking forward to the rejection, and are now withholding that, as well. STOP ENJOYING IT, YOU KINKY BASTARDS
[Seem familiar?](https://thumbs.gfycat.com/MeanSimplisticDragon-max-1mb.gif)
I never got a rejection email
No rejection here either
Thank goodness I'm seeing so many others say they didn't receive one either. I guess now they just ghost us, instead of telling us to fuck off
Same here. And I thought I was the only one
I actually was selected to purchase a 5800X, but the notification email arrived at 9pm, 2 hours after the purchasing deadline. Result - an empty shopping cart.
Neweggs emails have been really delayed for me. I got one 4+ hours after a CPU cooler was delivered today.
No, but I hope NewEgg got my rage email about that fiasco.
I didn't even win a rejection email!
Glad to see others didn't get one either...what a weird mess that was....
Never got a text telling me it started or a rejection email. Only reason I got in was because of this subreddit
Ghosted i was
I didn't
Never got it either. I even text back their sms notification lmao
I did not.
I actually got a congrats email saying I won the 5800x and the monitor. I didn't need either since I already bought a 5600x. No Kettle sadly
> Oh snap... something went wrong on our end. Please try again.
happening to me as well. The GoogleReCaptcha endpoint is returning that error. Guess google thinks we're bots.
I had to remove amd 5900x to submit
Guess I cant try my hand at getting the 5900x....... Happened to me too
Nice fix dude. Not that I’ll win, but at least I entered the game.
Anyone getting "Oh snap… something went wrong on our end. Please try again." ?
Try unselecting the 5900x.
WOW!?!?! WTF Lol. That worked. I actually want a 5900x though :(
Unselecting both 5900x deals worked for me too...
Same, but whatever. I never win this shit anyway, so I just selected the card I want (well, the BUNDLES for the card I want), and moved on.
Worked for me.
It's the standalone 5900 processor causing this; at least removing that fixed the problem for me (everything else selected).
Thanks. That fixed it for me.
Yes I give up. I'm tired of trying to deal with OldEgg and their shitty shuffles to gouge the customer. \*edit-word
Same.
I'm getting it too on the mobile app and website
same
Yep. Website and app.
Yup… they must busy loading trucks with a lot of kettles.
0 for 63. I should never go to Vegas
All 3080’s bundled with fucking motherboard bs. So frustrating
Hey man, they are still half the price of a scalper and you can try to sell the MB. In these days, it's as good as it gets. Hang in there brother.
Yeah, I'd actually be willing to pay ~$1,100 for a 3080. I just don't want it from a scalper, and I don't want to pay $2,200. If I can offload the motherboard, great. If not, it can be stored away for potential future use or something.
Let's see, retail scalper or freelance scalper? Decisions decisions.
I legit just don’t have the extra $250 to blow on the motherboard before I sell it. And my other money is tied up elsewhere
if your finances are hurting that hard you shouldn't be dropping 700$ on a gpu
Truth. "You can't afford something unless you can buy it twice."
Good moto
It’s what my overall budgeting is for this specific part of leisure, I’m just sticking to it, firmly.
Strix tax is huge, they were $980 back in October before the price increases
That’s roughly what they sell for yes, solo Newegg listings for 3080’s go for around $1000 or $1000, except for EVGA ones. Or FE from best buy
As someone still running a B350M, I'm one of the few that actually wouldn't mind getting a Mobo bundle lol If the mobo is at least decent, that is.
I got selected for a 3070 FTW3 I saw the text right after I clocked out of work at 2pm. The purchasing window expired as I clocked out. I’m so done with everything. I used all my luck. Had I gone to the bathroom half an hour before I got off, I would have a 3070 right now. This is the 4th time I’ve been inches away from a new GPU before something stupid fucks it up for me somehow
OOF.... sorry to hear that man.
Boss makes a dollar, we make a dime, that's why you should always shit on company time
I'm new to this. Can I select multiple choices in hopes that I win one? Or how do you guys do it?
You select however many of the options that you would be willing to purchase if you won, and if you win any one of them you'll get an email.
I'm asking because I'd like to know if I have a better chance choosing the GPU I'm most interested in, or should I choose a few and hope I get a chance to purchase one.

People used to win more than 2 the same day. Not sure if they still can or not.
Right. That makes sense. It also means that there is no benefit in selecting multiple choices.
You should select every one that you would be willing to buy. The only scenario it hurts is if you would have won more than 1 that day. But winning at all is so unlikely you shouldn’t enter fewer items just to avoid. Also, don’t add something you aren’t going to buy if selected.

This is wrong. I was able to purchase two items from the same shuffle.
at least they got rid of the tea kettle I guess
Y would they get rid of thier best item?
seriously. i was hoping to snag a tea kettle today but now i have to buy it from scalpers. fuck.
Crazy part is theres actually people with 6 to 7 kettle setups and i still dont even have 1 yet. Feels bad man.
Didn't get a reply yesterday and this one is so early it closed by the usual one o'clock drop. So Newegg can go fuck themselves today.
Amen, saw this post 2 hours after it was posted but the shuffle had ended.... Yesterday it was open for legit 12 hours and they didn't even send out email responses.... Fuck Newegg.
I will actually respectfully stab one of yall for that solo 3060 or 3070 ....just saying
Understandable.
If you're gonna shank somebody, get the dude with the 80.
We knkw
Well I would get stabbed for one of them
Straight up denied for that kettle yesterday
Why must the include the 3080s with a motherboard? It's also the ones I'm looking for too.

I just go it. Between the 5900x selection bug and late email it gonna be another interesting shuffle. Just need the kettle to top it all off.
I didn't even get notified that this was starting.
I got mine about 40 minutes after I entered.
Looks like 0 for 64. This is kind of funny how unlucky I am.
Has anybody else never won a shuffle despite entering almost every day for all items available?
I have been entering pretty frequently for the last month or so and I just won today. Keep your head up, Champ!
A month? I've been at it since February ish?
Yeah, I mean I've been making sure I have been entering literally everyday since probably mid way through April, and then maybe twice a week every month before that, almost since it started.
Today was my first win. Kinda threw it away by selecting everything and getting picked for a GPU/mobo combo I didn't actually want but such are the ways of RNGesus. I'll be pickier next time.

Damn, people already got their emails for being selected? 'nother L for me then.
I won a 5950x! Yay!!
I didn't, but got the 5900x combo. I guess it'll do for my virtualization box.
I don't need a 3080. I really don't. But I have a white case that would go great with that. I can't afford it. I really can't. But it would look so good in my white case. (Checks white 3080 and enters shuffle) [EDIT: For the record, I also checked what I really want and can afford.]
The pain... I built a white lian li for my girl. Even sprung for the white asus ROG 800w Psu. ... Ready for a white gpu
I'm in the same boat as you. I have an all white build I've put together and the last thing I want/need is an Asus strix 3070 WHITE. I knew I wouldn't get it, but the white 3070 yesterday gave me hope. I'll take the 3080 but it's going to be such overkill.
C’mon Newegg. Give me the aorus 3080. Time to be 0-70 today, road to 100!
I may root for you to win that if you let me win the asus 3080. lol.
Same, I think I've missed 2 and have never won
If you are okay with a whole system, LetsBld has 3080 FTW3.
Are these shuffles actually giving people GPUs? How many do they sell each time? I wonder uf they only ship out like 10 lol
This was the one 3080 Strix O10G My god It's done.

Try deselecting the 5900X, if you selected it. That seems to be giving people trouble.
well pray for us. we had a death in the family (RIP gtx 870) and really need a replacement.
If I can't win all the products yesterday that can be had for less elsewhere, why would I expect to win something that's in actual short supply?
Lol I won the raffle. Not expecting that today
I wonder why the combos are all AMD mobos.
Da fuck? I didnt even get a rejection email from yesterday’s raffle.
From the looks of it no one did. I didn’t.
Man do I regret selling my spare 3080 at cost to a friend. Who would thought they'd be going for over 2k....ugh
and on ebay they are up at $3000-4000 last time I checked. lol. I bet these originals are about to go even higher in ebay value since the new ones are being gimped.
"enter for a chance to get scalped!"
Wow! I got selected for the gigabyte waterforce card and x570 aorus elite combo.
Why the fuck did this shuffle end after 2 hours of being posted but yesterday's lasted like 10-12 hours.... I'm pissed... So many good cards to have missed out on.
Yesterdays was an event and the first one to be like that.
I ended up winning this one, but I didn't take it. I couldn't justify paying $900+ on a 6700 XT.
Damn, I was selected for an extremely overpriced 6700XT and mobo that I don't want. This is my first win ever too but I gave up long ago selecting what I really want and just checking everything. What to do...

I removed mine from the cart. Hopefully it goes to somebody who wants it because I refuse to scalp.
I'm still waiting for the email for yesterday's shuffle saying I failed to get anything....
watch them send a congrats email today and it turn out it was for yesterday.
CONGRATS ~~on your new kettle~~

Congrats, your psu should be fine as long as you dont OC
Or OC with an undervolt
Holy crap, I actually won a 6700 XT Eagle? Now I can pass the 5700 XT to my bro who's on a 480 4G and he can pass his to his a GF on a freaking 750 TI. Problem is I had to pay 890 for it. Hmm, maybe I can try trading the 5700 XT for a 1660 Super or 3060 plus cash or something? Or maybe hold on and find a 3060 LHR and sell the 5700 XT on eBay. Edit: Selling the 5700 XT to my brother for it's MSRP cause I'm not a filthy scalper.
Has anyone won a shuffle before???
Yes, I have
Enjoy your tea kettle dude congrats!
I did. Ended up with a 3070 and a firehazard of a psu.
HA! I won the b550 f and white rog 3080 combo... to bad I caved and bought an rtx 6900 xt 2 weeks ago...
Let's go for 2 wins, baby! The envy downvotes are real.
I won also.. won the Uber gift card ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶
That was a thing?
Yeah… $50 Ubereats GC for $40, a bittersweet victory I guess, I’d almost prefer the rejection email haha

I mind.
I’m so glad I sold everything and I no longer worry about these.
"Oh snap… something went wrong on our end. Please try again." Anyone else seeing this?
Did you select the 5900X? Try removing it if you did.
I was too but saw a comment below to deselect the 5900 and that worked.
