The inn in Essex best place to get gluten free

jarik1374

Athens diner is my wife’s favorite for gluten free breakfast - good gluten free bread for toast. Usually gluten free pancake or waffle specials

Emotional-Weekend832

Cafe Dim Sum - not traditional “brunch” fare but tons of GF options, great staff, delicious food

Manglewood

Avoid Farmhouse Tap & Grill. I went there once with my parents and my mom can't have gluten. The waitress actually called her "glutarded". I couldn't believe it. We were being completely polite inquiring about menu options, not making weird, endless demands or acting entitled. The waitress just seemed completely exasperated by the mere existence of gluten intolerant people. We were worried about her throwing flour in something out of spite and never went back.

Dirch21

Wow that’s terrible!!

Manglewood

Sorry to have such a negative response but I don't want anyone else to have a bad experience! I hope you get lots of good suggestions and have a wonderful anniversary!

I have two gf/df people in my family and have never had any issues with farmhouse. And bliss bee, same owners, are awesome with gf options and serve breakfast now

Manglewood

I emailed them to let them know what happened and nobody ever responded to me. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯

Smart-Chapter-4995

Where's the farmhouse

Medium_Routine_9398

The Spot on Shelburne Rd has some pretty good GF options for brunch. Haven't had a bad experience there yet but I'd look at their menu online as it's got an interesting twist. They don't have Eggs Benedict on their main Menu (if i remember correctly) though if that's your go to

contrary-contrarian

Gray Jay has yummy options if you like Mediterranean and Moroccan flavors

Automatic_Simple_831

As a person with a wheat allergy, the only spots I've found to be safe in the area are: Bliss Bee Pho Hong & Pho Son ( you have to be specific about gluten/wheat because one of them has a broth with wheat but they help you figure it out) and idk about brunch or what hours they operate City market, of course Friendly Toast Pauline's was okay but they shut down Tom Tom's or tom girls I think it's called but they were outrageous and the owner was cookoo and I think they shut down. Other places are probably safe but I also have a dairy allergy and going out is dreadful so if I do, it's one of these few places.

James-lyon420

McDonald’s is a good spot

Jules on the green in Essex jct is great for a variety of GF options! They have a delicious brunch and are very clear about what is and isn’t gf. Also if you’re ever wanting baked goods- west meadow farm bakery is right around the corner from Jules and they never miss
