I lived at Macgregor. One winter, the fog didn't lift for 2 weeks. It moved off the ground about 2pm, to tree height, then settled down to the ground again at 5pm. There was a patch of ice on the footpath for the 2 weeks, that so many people slipped on, that we put a temporary fence around it.
I loved it this morning. I love summer, but waking up to see Mount Ainslie had completely disappeared?
My woolly clothes have be been waiting for me for months.
Someone else told me it had to be a North Face 😳
I'm still resisting the puffer, but I can see the appeal. The coat is actually great for work, but less so for informal occasions, so the puffer will probably be the next purchase. And a beanie and gloves. And a cave, so I can hibernate for 8 months.
The best is getting to the top of Mount Ainslie on days like that and being above the clouds and seeing Black Mountain as an island above the clouds/fog.
I spent the last 10 years in Darwin and have driven through rain thicker and with less visibility than this. And yet, Darwinites know when it's pouring to turn on your lights.
Monday Morning ♫♩♪
*i hope you know you could have saved yourself some time by visiting the local*

🌬️ Anyway about that fog 💨 some say “Beautiful one day… but hey this is Canberra” 🤣
Seeing only one driver without headlight lights on is a good day for a Canberra morning like this.
Thats a record. Could Canberra drivers...be learning?
How dare you impugn us thus!
We hope, but I fear it was an impulsive decision made 😅
Could also be all the interstaters who havent quite turned Canberran yet.
That explains the not tailgating.
You want us to do ... what??? Learn???
You want us to do ... what??? Learn???
There were another 5 on the return trip.
And no tailgating! How un-Canberran.
Hahaha welcome to Canberra. It can get very foggy here, I love a cool crisp foggy morning, makes me feel at home

Oh wow! I assume that's a really rare occurence though? Would be cool to see...once.
I only lived there for a year. Fog in Belconnen until lunchtime is reasonably common, but all day or multiple days is uncommon.
"Apocalyptic hellscape" Canberra, what else?
Silent Hill?
Absolutely. And wait until the visitors go past Parliament house. Staring at the red skies and lightning.
Parliamentary Bermuda triangle

I bought my first woolly jacket on the weekend! I'm wfh for a couple of days, but can't wait to rock it to the office on Wednesday.
It's gotta be a Kathmandu puffy coat or you'll be ostracised :P

You are gonna blend in well

You ain't seen nothing yet.
I haven’t the foggiest?
🤣 Nice one!
This is almost paradise compared to the hail of 2020
Apocalyptic Hellscape… this must be the Carolyn Chisholm building at Tuggeranong……!
As someone who worked out of CCC, I agree. Are/were you with DHS (or whatever name being used these days?
The Dementors are breeding
Their breeding grounds must be at the Kingston foreshore.. the mists coming up from the lake at 6am are eerie (but beautiful)..
Looks like a cold morning👌. This can be nice sometimes. The fog is great when walking by lakes. Real ethereal stuff.
It's not the apocalypse, that's just the Kippax vibe.
Just a taste of whats to come as we enter another long cold Canberra winter
The Mist!! Don’t go outside!!
Where's John Carpenter?
Just a reminder, fog lights not headlights. Something about too much refraction making you less visible.
Didn’t know that, cheers
That's Canberra mate.
Nice. I was out and about in Kippax this morning, the fog became thicker during the morning. And you ain't seen nothing yet 😉
It's that time of year where all the white/grey/silver cars drive around with no lights on, and become hazards to everything around them.
That was pretty much the cohort today. Just appearing out of the fog without warning.
Woke up this morning looking out my floor to ceiling window to grey nothingness. Thought I had woken up in purgatory or something.
That's when the grey nothingness is smoke. It comes just before Hell.
aye yo is that silent hill?
Felt like it!
That's Canberra baby!!
It’s just April. Calm down, mate.
Doesnt look like Charnwood.
Fog>Smoke
It looks like an intersection without a roundabout. Just stop the car and walk in from there
welcome to silent hill- i mean canberra
That town singing again... Silent hill..
People in FNQ think that's a bit of a sprinkle

Good, I miss Canberra so much!
Yes it's fog not smog you will be fine. Usually fog means sunny day ahead though, after around late morning. Not today though.
Nah it's just from the AutumnNats burnout comp
It's just a rainy day
No rain forecast for today so a little break. Don't worry, it's back tomorrow.
It's called fog... have you only just landed on earth?
Well, I've spent 10 years in Darwin so, yeah, it feels like I'm an alien back in the real world for the first time.
