No, because the Sharks owns his negotiation rights. Depending on if he is eligible for an offer sheet, even if he signed it, the Sharks can match it. And if it is a ridiculous amount that the Sharks won’t match, we would have to give up 4 straight first round picks unprotected.

Sharks will look to trade him. Because he is an RFA, in theory, he can’t pick and choose his team as there are no “NTC” involved. However, he can also be an Adam Fox and just said he won’t sign with anyone but Vancouver. If that’s the case, we have leverage in trade. Now, I don’t see him do this. He does like the Sharks and his father works for the Golden State Warriors. They already own a home in the Bay Area and that’s now his second home. So I think he would remain a Shark for a long time.
