He was playing left back mostly, looked good at CB the got injured and disappeared

I know that but some of the poor moments from colwill weren’t coz he was at LB it was just poor defending all round, obviously he’s got a high ceiling but say we buy someone like Calafiori or Hincapie they are much more comfortable as LB/LCBs than Badia or Colwill it ain’t about new toys

Not true at all. Those moments were because the style of defending is completely different for a LB compared to a CB - he just didn't adapt.
Stop the excuses, he was not good enough some of the shit he was doing was basic if any other defender did some of the stuff he was doing they’d be crucified.
They're not excuses. As a young CB, you are coached to defend the space and not vacate your position, while as a FB you are taught to engage with the wide player and respond to each micromovement or footwork. If you look closely at his errors, they have mostly been down to those stark differences in defensive styles - maybe they seem basic to you but for a player that has been asked to play in an unfamiliar position at the highest domestic level, there is no surprise that we have been punished.
I expect better from a guy who was as hyped as he was. It doesn’t change my view, he loved to flirt with other teams last year like he was something special yet he ain’t shown it
You haven't countered any of my arguments at all. The reason he was as hyped as he was wasn't because of left back performances, was it? There is also no proof that he was flirting with other teams last year, he wanted assurances and he signed a long-term deal when he was offered those.
When he played the entire team was a mess and Poch was playing Chilwell as a left winger. Nobody looked good then.
With an actual system and some team cohesion we’ll see the true quality he has

I’d think it would be Colwill LCB rotating with Badi and Cali getting the bulk of time at LB.
