As a chemist myself, the periodic system feels like something people not into chemistry think is ’chemistry’ but for me it is just a table. It is a curiousity for crossword puzzles and trivia quizes. It is not anything more than a reference document needed once in a while and even then, you already kind of know what elements you work with, at least as an organic chemist.
Its a visual tool. Once you memorize the valance shells, you dont need it but its critical in teaching the concepts and understanding *why* things combine the way they do.
Good for her, it's a great idea to shower periodically. Especially after a long day of being exposed to the elements.
