I mean, Bears just added the top QB prospect in a decade last night, along with an elite WR prospect, to go along with the 6x Pro Bowler they recently traded for, and they still have DJ Moore... but yeah, they won't score.
i will admit that i don’t know anything about football or how this draft business works, but i do know that every single season chicago sports fans will persist “no but this year the team is going to be good FOR SURE this time!!!!!”, and 99% of the time….. the team still isn’t good.
Yeah, that has been the case for way too long... but this time, it really does seem to be different. A new GM came in about 3 years ago and tore down an under-performing roster, traded away older players who were still good for draft capital, freed up lots of salary cap space, the team's poor showing combined with a huge stroke of luck landed the Bears the #1 overall pick last year, which they parlayed into a star player and slew of draft picks, including this year's #1 overall pick that they kept to draft the top QB after deciding Justin Fields wasn't the answer at the position. Now, they are in a position where they've been able to add good pieces through the draft, trades and free agency and look to be on the verge of competing in the next year or two.
Convince the new owners of the Onion to buy the naming rights. The Onion Field is a little on the nose, but Global Tetrahedron Dome has a certain absurdist je ne sais quoi about it
Stadium naming rights normally fall into one of two categories:
* Flash in the pan huge scams like FTX and Enron
* Long established monopolists and companies you despise, but have no choice but to use like Bell, Xcel Energy
So it's probably going to be Comcast Xfinity Field.
Yeah the majority of modern sponsored stadiums seem to fall into one of the following categories:
-Bank/Finance/Mortgage
-Insurance
-Communications
I think Xfinity Field is a good bet.
Yeah, I think that the only category I’d add to that list would be your B-tier tech monopolists like Oracle and SalesForce. Meta, Apple, and Microsoft aren’t that thirsty for the status.
Some great suggestions here.
My serious guess for contenders would be Allstate, McDonalds, or Aon. WTW, buying the naming rights to be Willis Towers Watson Field would be really appropriate too.
State Farm has been putting their name on a few stadiums and fields, which is why I think Allstate would make sense. I could see Grubhub as a local tech company making sense too.
I actually completely forgot that Allstate Arena existed. Looks like they only had to pay $15M for 10 years. I would imagine the Bears would expect atleast that amount per year, probably double that. SoFi is paying $625M over 20 years for reference.
It won’t happen, but they should do an homage to the original home of the bears and call it Staley Stadium or maybe the George Halas memorial stadium?
If they go the corporate sponsorship route it’ll probably be whatever bank is the official bank of the Chicago bears.
Foxtrot would've gone to private equity and raise money to pay for the naming rights instead of investing in the company. I do wonder if the full sized basketball court they had in their office was named Foxtrot Field.

Weber Grill Stadium, and make it look like a giant kettle grill. Flames can shoot out when the Bears score a TD.
Which won't be used often 🤣

Those are way too mainstream. It's probably going to be some tech company like crypto.com or grubhub
State Farm has been putting their name on a few stadiums and fields, which is why I think Allstate would make sense. I could see Grubhub as a local tech company making sense too.
Allstate Arena naming rights expire this year, Allstate Stadium could be an upgrade
