Pho 888 on Argyle. get the beef and veg with wide noodles and ask them to make the noodles crispy. It’s delectable and for $18.95, you get two meals. Al’s Beef on Taylor. Superdawg. Kabobi serves humongous portions of kabobs and rice that will feed two for under $20. Cross-Rhodes in Evanston for Greek salads and char burgers.
Worth mentioning Kabobi's lunch special from 1030-4 or late night special from 10pm - 1 am which is essentially the same amount of food as their standard entree
Well, not only good value on weekdays, but yes, there is a special. I either get the special, or a half pound of carnitas and a chicharron guisado. Even then, it's still sub-$20 which these days is damn good for a full sitdown.
Pizza slices for $5 or $6 bucks. Gigio's, Salerno's, Art of Pizza, Jet's, Dante's, Paulie Gee's, D'amato's bakery. There's too many to list, and they're all great cheap eats.
Red Light Chicken, near DePaul. The menu has three items, a fried chicken sandwich, an 8-count of chicken nuggets and an order of fries. A sandwich is $7.25. It’s exceptional. There may be a line but it moves fast.
The morning burger is my favorite, with a bucket of fries and/or onion rings. It’s the perfect hangover meal.
Also, their hot dogs are 100% beef and made locally.
You can always get 3 giant slices pizza for $6 from the slice factory locations using too good to go. Has kept me fed the day or two before pay day more than once. Have to not mind reheating pizza or being picky on toppings
El Famous Burrito taco Tuesdays and Sundays has $2 tacos. In Rogers Park
Primo Chuki’s on Lawrence has $2 tacos Tuesdays and Thursdays.
That’s 3 days a week you can get a meal for $4 or $6 depending on how much you can eat.
Not sure where you’re located, but fat johnnies is my favorite “hole in the wall” sort of place in the city. My absolute favorite hot dog, legendary on the south side and everything on the menu is like $3-$7. Cash only tho
My Place (that's what it's called) in the south loop. They have this afternoon deal for Chinese Portuguese Chicken on rice or beef noodle soup for like $9 and comes with a milk tea or lemon tea.
Northern Taste in Bridgeport
Insanely good Chinese food, ~$7 lunch specials.
My go-to is the Stir Fried Eggplant with Minced Pork, the Mapo Tofu is also amazing.
Bari is very reasonably priced.
Yummy Yummy Noodles in Chinatown gives you insane portions for the price.
Uncle Mike's Place is the same deal, big portions for not much cash.

If it makes you feel any better, you’re being downvoted for your unoriginal response from a Dorky tv show. Not bc you’re wrong.

No that is *the* dorky tv show. This is just *a* dorky tv show.
