Ty, what leads you to believe the barred is a roo? Is it the comb and tail? We’ve had chickens for like 6-7 years now but usually buy sexed pullets so I’m not very experienced sexing. I thought the barred looked a bit like a roo but they said it was a barred serama cross and that it would stay smaller.

It might very well be a hen, the tall tail feathers made me suspicious but at the same time I have more experience in bantams and the “softer” looking chickens. A lot of times with chickens it’s best to wait till they are fully grown and more identifiable

The barred one and the silkie are the only two who might not be hens. Silkie just bc it’s so hard to sex them and the barred one bc of the comb development and coloration. With the barred one do you know anything about its parentage? Especially if the mother or father was barred? My understanding is that a barred hen only passes the barred gene on to her sons.

All look like solid pullets but silkie is the unknown. They're a mystery to me until they lay eggs.
