Foshan is kind of like a suburb of Guangzhou anyways. You aren't going to shocked by anything in GZ, but the scale and crowds will be a bit different. A bit more upscale areas, foreign restaurants, larger events etc...If you just teleported me to a random nice area of Foshan or Guangzhou and asked me to guess where I was I wouldn't know.
I've been to both cities and lived in Foshan for a summer. I actually really enjoyed Foshan, it's way less populated and quiet compared to Guangzhou (obviously as GZ is massive). It's linked via the subway so Foshan is more of a suburb of Guangzhou imo. I would personally stay in Foshan but if you prefer a more hectic lifestyle, super busy but way better choices of food and nightlife then go to GZ. I think an older person would appreciate Foshan more.
During summer Foshan is very hot, I've been sweating the whole day even if I wasn't exercising. My parents said they're going to guangzhou tomorrow so I also have to go, and we're taking the underground subway to get there
Really bad, especially during summer right now. The heat here is fricken insane. Drivers here also drive recklessly, rarely seen this happen in my country
Reckless drivers? It is all over China. They cannot drive. Period.
Is the life the same or different? You will still be in China. Therefore, it will be pretty much the same. Boring.
They are the world’s worst drivers. They have no skills and no common sense. And I thought SEA had the worst drivers. China is in a league of their own, though.
As Starry said, you're not going to avoid the crazy summer in the south wherever you are. You need to go further north. I found Kunming/Weihai had the perfect weather cycles for me but the city got boring very fast.
It is not that different. Foshan is like a Guangzhou district (but Foshan is a city linked to Guangzhou like a district of Guangzhou and you can even take metro to go to foshan and comeback), but if you go to Tianhe in Guangzhou, it's more crowded, and more entertainment places are in Tianhe.
Why dont you take a taxi for 30 minutes and you can go find out for yourself? You mentioned heat (will be exactly the same) bad drivers (might be a little better). There's more foreigners and international stuff in GZ, its a bit more expensive especially downtown, GZ is a much bigger and more built up city.
Im currently living in Dongguan and moving to Foshan soon.
He said "like" a district of GZ because GZ and Foshan are right next to each other, subways are connected and its like 30 mins drive from the center of one to the other.

Guangzhou is not much better. My German friend is pracitically melting like an icecream in the sweltering weather.
Lol this happens to everyone during summer
I also used to get a bus from outside my complex in Foshan to Hong Kong once a month to buy some home comforts, was a nice trip down.
How’s living in Foshan?

I almost got hit by a motorcycle today when trying to cross a pedestrian crossing. So yeah they are probably all over china

Is that the only good thing

You live in Foshan or Auckland? Check the profile….
Did you read my post carefully? There was one word that I mentioned in this post that gives you a clue that I'm not from Foshan
I’m not one to argue semantics but the post literally starts “Currently I live in Foshan”. I know you’re not from Foshan.
Yeah I'm not from Foshan, but currently I'm living here only for vacation
Oh ok, that makes more sense. If you want some advice about interesting things to do let me know.

No I didn't take the taxi, I took the underground metro train
The metro connects directly to Guangzhou.
Yes ik
Foshan is like a district of Guangzhou, Foshan is more Guangzhou than Huadu or Nansha are. Not sure what’s your question or you’re a troll
Troll allegation out of the gate is a bit harsh imho
Idk it’s almost the same as asking what is life like in Tianhe while living in Panyu
So it might be a silly question. Would it be the first in this group?
I thought Foshan was a city
i think he misunderstood and thought you mean Guangdong.
You mean Gaungdong? foshan and guangzhou are both cities in gaungdong? Its literally call 佛山市.. its a city.
What is blud yapping about? Foshan is not a district it takes 1 sec to google this
