Don't call Apollo. They are notorious for being dishonest about what you need in order to charge you the most money possible for your situation.

NN2coolforschool

Agreed, I've dealt with Apollo twice and should have learned the first time. Go with Rick's Heating and Cooling in Maineville.

iamdream

They now record you without your permission

NN2coolforschool

Who does?!

iamdream

Apollo

NN2coolforschool

Omg, creepy

SuperSacredWarsRoach

Corcoran and Harnist. Great local family owned company.

Beef_Lurky

I used Jansen. They gave me a quote for 3 different tiers of systems, all with different benefits/prices. I thought their price was extremely fair compared to some of the other quotes I got. They, along with a lot of the other companies you mention, have a yearly service to check/update the system twice a year. I have used Jolly for plumbing stuff, but they came in more expensive on their bids for two things that I ultimately had Jansen do. I’ve used Jansen for full HVAC replacement, tankless hot water heater, and installation of two mini split units, b/c my HVAC did not have duct work that goes to the front of my (very old) house (1st & 2nd floor). I would say get a quote from at least 2 places, and make sure you can do a decent side by side comparison. A lot of the actual hardware is similar if not the same, after that it comes down to price and service. Both Jansen and Jolly have really good service, but ultimately, Jansen’s prices were better.

Gerb575

Thank you for taking the time to type up this response. I will certainly schedule a few estimate calls to see who is offering what. I will add Jensen to the list! Thank you again!

GolfMikeTango

+1 to Jansen, they are very up front with their options and pricing has always been pretty competitive compared to the other top companies (top service not top advertising dollars like Apollo or Thomas/Galbraith)

Go_caps227

I think Schneller is way overpriced. You can find a much better deal elsewhere

sorrymizzjackson

Probably, but they actually do good work at least.

Go_caps227

They gave me a quote of 2.5x of another plumber. I don’t know what service could have been improved.

BarleyBo

We used air authority and can’t be happier. The salesman told us what we didn’t need, didn’t up-sale anything. Just an honest upfront just get what you need approach that I really appreciated.

dreamerstreamer

Air Authority was fantastic, and their price was lower than the competitors for a better quality product.

plums7988

They replaced my unit earlier this year, agreed with all of this. Couldnt be happier

Cinti-cpl

We use Adams, but stay away from the franchise commission shops such as Apollo. Get several quotes and research the equipment they propose to use. Also pay a lot of attention to the details.

6868junk

Reach Mechanical. Family run, small business. They travel all over the city. I have been incredibly impressed with their service in both furnace maintenance and replacement (AC only last summer).

no_f8

I second Reach Mechanical! Great service and priced right.

Roesty79

We use Hader. Never tried to sell us something we didn’t want or need.

lawanders

I just did a full HVAC system replacement with American Heating this week and I was really happy with them. They didn’t try to upsell me and were straightforward with the needs for my house, were patient with alllllll my questions, and their pricing was in-line with the other quotes I got.

Electronic_Top6619

They are the best!

I use Morrison Heating and Air out of Ryland Heights, Kentucky. It's mainly the owner and his son. Jeff Morrison is the owner. He's great. Been doing this for a long time. Good pricing too.

lavelyjk

Airsurge. Ask for Abe or Jesse

retromafia

We've been very happy with Zimmer. Chris (the owner) did a very thorough analysis when they revamped our HVAC a few years ago.

sonambulist57

# Schibi Heating and Cooling westside. Good folks.

TrashPanda---

Jacob's Mechanicals I have several rental properties. They are priced very reasonably, honest, and make sure the job is done right. I am always impressed by how each tech takes the job / responsibility very seriously.. don't see that much anymore.

AStoutBreakfast

We’ve had good luck with Rusk. They are based out of Covington but service the Cincinnati area. I don’t have a ton of comparison but the prices seemed reasonable and they were available quickly when we needed them.

create360

I’m happy with Quality Comfort. Maybe this is common, but they include spring and winter service (tuning) for 7 years with the purchase of new system. Their prices and equipment were comparable and they’re pretty nice folks.

Other-Count-7042

Quality Comfort has done work for us for years. One day I'll cave and get their service plan. Pricing is fair and they take care of the yearly services that I am probably overdue lol. Great service and pricing!

Staggeringpage8

I don't know if they service out to Cincy but John Boyd Heating and Cooling is a pretty solid name around where I live and we're maybe 45 minutes to an hour out from Cincy. Like I said I don't know if they service Cincy but if they do I'd go with them.

Matthew212

Will second Adams. Absolutely incredible service

Chewmacher

HMAC

Slight-Ad-2815

Steinhauer is wonderful. He has been doing ours for 15+ years. Also many family members. Just got a full system. He definitely will not lead you wrong. Very honest.

SirPrestigious4857

Just came here to say look into tax rebates under the inflation reduction act, 25c and HEEHRP - both provide rebates for energy efficient HVAC systems

coilityourself

kellerman is amazing, kept my old system going for years until they just couldnt get parts anymore, then set me up with a great new system.

notthestig

Gerard Heating and Air is my go to. They're new on the scene and have the best pricing around.

Super_Stock_Dodge

I used Corcoran and Harnist for years since they installed the original Carrier unit in my house when I had it built in 1997. After numerous service calls over 20 years they admitted that the builder bullied them into installing a system that was undersized for a 3000sf house and it should be replaced. I got several other quotes and they said the same thing, unit was too small and return line ductwork was undersized. I went with Doc Rusk and the system has worked flawlessly for 7 years. It also cools my 2nd floor much better than the previous unit.

em_silly

I just got mine replaced by Rupert.

King_Yogert

I've had good experiences with ABC HVAC - local family owned company that's been around for years. They took the time to explain options and pricing in a straightforward way. Didn't try to oversell me on stuff I didn't need. Their techs do clean work and know the [sequence of operation on a furnace](https://www.technicalhotandcoldparts.com/hvac-repair-blog/the-sequence-of-operation-on-a-gas-furnace-infographic/) inside out. As far as brands, I'd recommend Trane or Lennox. Good warranties and energy efficiency ratings without paying top dollar for the biggest names. Do your research on SEER ratings and such to find the right balance on features and price. Whoever you choose, make sure to get several quotes and check reviews. Ask lots of questions about their install process, warranties, etc. A good company will have no problem explaining everything in detail. Don't be afraid to trust your gut if something seems off.

Logan AC and Heat services

Flobee76

Recker and Boerger hands down. When we replaced our AC they said they had a discount if we did the entire system at once, but we didn't want to shell out that much at once so we declined. Of course the furnace went out only a few months later because that's our luck. Mr. Boerger himself called us to let us know since it was so close to the AC install he'd honor that discount. We didn't ask or assume we'd be getting any discount, so what a great surprise! The gravy on top was we got a better unit than we ordered because they were getting some newer models in. We've used them for a water heater replacement and repairs to the old furnace/AC before they finally died, and their customer service has always been top-notch.

Lower_Lunch_8563

I used to work for them, becareful they cut lot of corners. Theyre techs aren’t even certified, they work under steve boergers licence. Guys that worked in the hvac department moved to different companies like thomas and galbraith have said its a night and day difference how each company does the job. They also treat their hvac guys horrible. I only recommend recker and boerger if youre buying appliances, they have great delivery service (thats where i used to work). Guys have everything they need to make the delivery and install.

JoeTony6

Interesting comment, good to know. We've only done appliances through Recker & Boerger but are looking at a full HVAC upgrade in the next few years, so I was wondering about that side of their business.

Lower_Lunch_8563

Their top hvac guys have left within the last year or so due to unfairly treatment and now they have a bunch of newbies there still learning. I still get gossip from that job from my former coworkers lol Another thing is the delivery check the furnaces and outside units for damage and most of the time if the unit is not completely shattered they will still tell the delivery guys to take the unit to the house and just hide it from the customer, they do a lot of shady stuff int heir hvac department, they also only have like 5-6 guys now being overworked.

Flobee76

That's good to know. It's been several years (9-ish?) since we had our HVAC replaced so maybe things have gone downhill.
