Could just be that her contract was up. Cincy is a weird anomaly, but people move from market to market all the time in after stints lasting 1-3 years or so. A lot of people like it in Cincy and tend to stay longer. They also have to move (usually) due to noncompetes.
This is usually what happens. And many choose to go back closer to home when their contract is up. Someone from Florida for example, is usually going to go back to Florida when they have the opportunity.
Lauren is a Northern Kentucky native and her husband is a HS teacher & football coach. When she had her twin sons 6 years ago, she was working at a Lexington, KY news channel. But she commuted to Lex from her Boone County home. I doubt she will move her family away from both her and her husband’s hometown. I bet in 6 months or so we’ll see her on a local channel. Or I think she’d be great at Spectrum’s news channel that covers Northern Kentucky.
I'm going to send an email complaining about this morning cast shake up. Fox19 had the only watchable morning news show. Frank Marzullo and Lauren Minor had great banter, and everyone seemed to be having fun. Julie O'Neil is such a wet blanket addition, I can't believe they're keeping her.

A close family member of mine spent almost 20 years in the television industry as a meteorologist. She signed a big new contract for like 4-5 years with a big city station. A few years into the new contract, they called her into a meeting and abruptly told her that she was being let go immediately. Not for disciplinary reasons or anything else. They just wanted to go in a different direction. I think she had a year and a half left on her contract and as long as she didn't take another television job anywhere in the country, they were just going to pay her the remainder of her contract weekly as normal. But she wouldn't have to do anything in return.
But none of her viewers ever knew what happened to her. She didn't get a farewell and I don't even think she could talk about it on her very active socials. So it's possible, something similar happened here.
The life of a newsperson is nomadic. They get contract then try to move to a bigger/better market after it runs its course. Not shocking.
Edit: oh, didn't see she was demoted. Who knows, the first post could still be the reasoning. I wouldn't be shocked if she left at the first possible instance especially after seeing she wasn't going to grow.

She held it together stepped up, did traffic, tolerated Frank and became part of the fox 19 news family fr. At least I thought. I honestly don't know how to feel about Lauren not being there anymore. So abruptly. Without warning at all. Smh. Like. I'm sure frank found out while on vacation and he's probably just as baffled fr. Who knows.
